ईळि॑ष्वा॒ हि प्र॑ती॒व्यं१॒॑ यज॑स्व जा॒तवे॑दसम् । च॒रि॒ष्णुधू॑म॒मगृ॑भीतशोचिषम् ॥ (१)

शत्रुओं के विरोध में गमन करने वाले अग्नि की स्तुति करो. सभी उत्पन्न प्राणियों को जानने वाले, सब ओर गतिशील धुएं वाले व राक्षसों द्वारा बाधाहीन ज्योति अग्नि की पूजा हव्यों द्वारा करो. (१)
EN English Translation
Praise the agni that moves against the enemies. Worship the light agni, which knows all beings, who know all beings, the smokeless ones everywhere and the unhindered flame by demons. (1)
दा॒मानं॑ विश्वचर्षणे॒ऽग्निं वि॑श्वमनो गि॒रा । उ॒त स्तु॑षे॒ विष्प॑र्धसो॒ रथा॑नाम् ॥ (२)

हे ज्ञान-दृष्टि से सब अर्थ देने वाले विश्वमना नामक ऋषि! स्तुतिवचनों द्वारा अग्नि की प्रशंसा करो. वे यजमान को रथ आदि संपत्ति देते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O sage named Vishwamana, who gives all meaning from the point of view of knowledge! Praise the agni by the eulogies. They give property like chariots etc. to the host. (2)
येषा॑माबा॒ध ऋ॒ग्मिय॑ इ॒षः पृ॒क्षश्च॑ नि॒ग्रभे॑ । उ॒प॒विदा॒ वह्नि॑र्विन्दते॒ वसु॑ ॥ (३)

शत्रुओं को सामने से बाधा पहुंचाने वाले एवं ऋचाओं द्वारा पूजा करने योग्य अग्नि जिनके हव्य अन्न एवं सोमरस ग्रहण करते हैं, वे ही यजमान धन पाते है. (३)
EN English Translation
The agni that hinders the enemies from the front and worshipable by the riches, whose havyas receive food and somras, they get the host wealth. (3)
उद॑स्य शो॒चिर॑स्थाद्दीदि॒युषो॒ व्य१॒॑जर॑म् । तपु॑र्जम्भस्य सु॒द्युतो॑ गण॒श्रियः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
भली प्रकार दीप्तिशाली, तापदाता दाढ़ वाले, शोभन दीप्तियुक्त एवं यजमानों का आश्रय लेने वाले अग्नि का जरारहित तेज उठता है. (४)
EN English Translation
The agni that is well-lit, with a warm molar, a warm-hearted and sheltering host, rises without a bit of agni. (4)
उदु॑ तिष्ठ स्वध्वर॒ स्तवा॑नो दे॒व्या कृ॒पा । अ॒भि॒ख्या भा॒सा बृ॑ह॒ता शु॑शु॒क्वनिः॑ ॥ (५)

हे शोभन यज्ञस्तुति किए जाते हुए, चारों ओर जाती हुई प्रसिद्ध दीप्ति से युक्त एवं ज्वलनशील अग्नि! तुम तेजस्वी ज्वालाओं के साथ बैठो. (५)
EN English Translation
O Shobhan Yajnasuti being performed, the famous and inflammable agni with the famous glow going around! You sit with stunning flames. (5)
अग्ने॑ या॒हि सु॑श॒स्तिभि॑र्ह॒व्या जुह्वा॑न आनु॒षक् । यथा॑ दू॒तो ब॒भूथ॑ हव्य॒वाह॑नः ॥ (६)

हे हव्य वहन करने वाले अग्नि! तुम देवों के दूत हो, इसलिए देवों को हव्य देते हुए शोभन स्तुतियों के साथ आओ. (६)
EN English Translation
O agni that carries the wind! You are the messengers of the gods, so come with shobhan praises, giving greetings to the gods. (6)
अ॒ग्निं वः॑ पू॒र्व्यं हु॑वे॒ होता॑रं चर्षणी॒नाम् । तम॒या वा॒चा गृ॑णे॒ तमु॑ वः स्तुषे ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं मनुष्यों के यज्ञ पूर्ण करने वाले एवं प्राचीन अग्नि को बुलाता हूं. मैं इन स्तुतिवचनों द्वारा उनकी प्रशंसा करता हूं एवं तुम्हारे लिए उन्हें बुलाता हूं. (७)
EN English Translation
I call upon the ancient agni, who completes the yagna of man. I praise them through these praises and call them to you. (7)
य॒ज्ञेभि॒रद्भु॑तक्रतुं॒ यं कृ॒पा सू॒दय॑न्त॒ इत् । मि॒त्रं न जने॒ सुधि॑तमृ॒ताव॑नि ॥ (८)

विचित्र कर्म वाले, मित्र के समान स्थित, हव्यों द्वारा तृप्त अग्नि की कृपा से अपनी सामर्थ्य के अनुसार यज्ञ करने वाले यजमान की अभिलाषा पूरी होती है. (८)
EN English Translation
Situated like a friend, with strange deeds, by the grace of the agni satisfied by the human beings, the desire of the host performing yajna according to his power is fulfilled. (8)
ऋ॒तावा॑नमृतायवो य॒ज्ञस्य॒ साध॑नं गि॒रा । उपो॑ एनं जुजुषु॒र्नम॑सस्प॒दे ॥ (९)

हे यजमानो! यज्ञ के साधन एवं यज्ञ के स्वामी की सेवा हव्ययुक्त यज्ञ में स्तुतिवचनों द्वारा करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Serve the means of yajna and the master of the yajna by the eulogy in the havyukta yajna. (9)
अच्छा॑ नो॒ अङ्गि॑रस्तमं य॒ज्ञासो॑ यन्तु सं॒यतः॑ । होता॒ यो अस्ति॑ वि॒क्ष्वा य॒शस्त॑मः ॥ (१०)

हमारे नियमित यज्ञ अंगिराओं में श्रेष्ठ अग्नि के सामने जावें. अग्नि मनुष्यों में होता एवं परम यशस्वी हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
Let our regular yagna go in front of the best agni in the angiras. Fire is in humans and they are the most successful. (10)
अग्ने॒ तव॒ त्ये अ॑ज॒रेन्धा॑नासो बृ॒हद्भाः । अश्वा॑ इव॒ वृष॑णस्तविषी॒यवः॑ ॥ (११)

हे जरारहित अग्नि! तुम्हारी दीप्ति वाली एवं विशाल रश्मियां कामवर्षी अश्व के समान शक्ति प्रदर्शित करती हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
O unhindered agni! Your radiant and huge rashmis display the same power as a working horse. (11)
स त्वं न॑ ऊर्जां पते र॒यिं रा॑स्व सु॒वीर्य॑म् । प्राव॑ नस्तो॒के तन॑ये स॒मत्स्वा ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्ति के स्वामी अग्नि! तुम हमें शोभन दीप्ति वाला धन दो. हमारे पुत्रों, पौत्रों एवं युद्धों में वर्तमान धन की रक्षा करो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O agni lord of power! You give us the money with a warm glow. Protect our sons, grandchildren and the present wealth in wars. (12)
यद्वा उ॑ वि॒श्पतिः॑ शि॒तः सुप्री॑तो॒ मनु॑षो वि॒शि । विश्वेद॒ग्निः प्रति॒ रक्षां॑सि सेधति ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्रजाओं के पालक एवं हव्यों द्वारा तेज किए गए अग्नि भली प्रकार प्रसन्न होकर जब यज्ञकर्ता के घर में स्थित होते हैं, तब सब राक्षसों को समाप्त कर देते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
The agni intensified by the guardians and havans of the people, when they are located in the house of the yagyakar, are well pleased and eliminate all the demons. (13)
श्रु॒ष्ट्य॑ग्ने॒ नव॑स्य मे॒ स्तोम॑स्य वीर विश्पते । नि मा॒यिन॒स्तपु॑षा र॒क्षसो॑ दह ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वीर एवं प्रजापालक अग्नि! हमारी नवीन स्तुतियों को सुनो एवं अपने ताप वाले तेज से मायावी राक्षसों को जलाओ. (१४)
EN English Translation
O heroic and sovereign agni! Listen to our new praises and burn the elusive monsters with your warmth. (14)
न तस्य॑ मा॒यया॑ च॒न रि॒पुरी॑शीत॒ मर्त्यः॑ । यो अ॒ग्नये॑ द॒दाश॑ ह॒व्यदा॑तिभिः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शत्रु लोग माया द्वारा भी उसे वश में नहीं कर सकते, जो हव्यदाता ऋत्विजों द्वारा अग्नि को हवि देता है. (१५)
EN English Translation
The enemy people cannot subdue him even by maya, who gives agni to him by the evil-giving rituals. (15)
व्य॑श्वस्त्वा वसु॒विद॑मुक्ष॒ण्युर॑प्रीणा॒दृषिः॑ । म॒हो रा॒ये तमु॑ त्वा॒ समि॑धीमहि ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्वयं को धन की वर्षा करने वाला बनाने की इच्छा से व्यश्च ऋषि ने धन देने वाले तुझ अग्नि को प्रसन्न किया था. हम महान् धन पाने के लिए उसी अग्नि को जलाते हैं. (१६)
EN English Translation
With the desire to make himself a rainer of wealth, the sage of man had pleased the agni of giving you wealth. We burn the same agni to get great wealth. (16)
उ॒शना॑ का॒व्यस्त्वा॒ नि होता॑रमसादयत् । आ॒य॒जिं त्वा॒ मन॑वे जा॒तवे॑दसम् ॥ (१७)

हे अग्नि! कविपुत्र उशना नामक ऋषि ने राजा मनु के कल्याण के लिए तेरे सामने यज्ञ करने वाले एवं जातवेद अग्नि को स्थापित किया था. (१७)
EN English Translation
O agni! The sage named Kaviputra Ushana had installed the Jattveda Agni, who performed yajna in front of you for the welfare of King Manu. (17)
विश्वे॒ हि त्वा॑ स॒जोष॑सो दे॒वासो॑ दू॒तमक्र॑त । श्रु॒ष्टी दे॑व प्रथ॒मो य॒ज्ञियो॑ भुवः ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! सभी देवों ने मिलकर तुम्हें अपना दूत बनाया था. हे देवों में प्रमुख अग्नि! तुम शीघ्र ही यज्ञ के योग्य बन गए थे. (१८)
EN English Translation
O agni! All the gods together made you their messenger. O chief agni among the gods! You soon became worthy of yajna. (18)
इ॒मं घा॑ वी॒रो अ॒मृतं॑ दू॒तं कृ॑ण्वीत॒ मर्त्यः॑ । पा॒व॒कं कृ॒ष्णव॑र्तनिं॒ विहा॑यसम् ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वीर मनुष्य ने इन मरणरहित, पवित्र करने वाले, काले मार्ग वाले एवं महान् अग्नि को अपना दूत बनाया था. (१९)
EN English Translation
The heroic man had made these mortals, the sanctifying, the black way, and the great agni his messenger. (19)
तं हु॑वेम य॒तस्रु॑चः सु॒भासं॑ शु॒क्रशो॑चिषम् । वि॒शाम॒ग्निम॒जरं॑ प्र॒त्नमीड्य॑म् ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हाथ में खुच ग्रहण करने वाले हम शोभन दीप्ति वाले, शुभ्र तेजयुक्त, मनुष्यों द्वारा स्तुति योग्य एवं जरारहित अग्नि को बुलाते हैं. (२०)

We, who receive the khuch in our hands, call the agni of the adornment, the bright, the bright, the praiseworthy of human beings and the unsung agni. (20)
यो अ॑स्मै ह॒व्यदा॑तिभि॒राहु॑तिं॒ मर्तोऽवि॑धत् । भूरि॒ पोषं॒ स ध॑त्ते वी॒रव॒द्यशः॑ ॥ (२१)

जो मनुष्य हव्यदाता ऋत्विजों द्वारा इस अग्नि को आहुति देता है, वह अधिक पुष्ट करने वाला तथा वीर संतान से युक्त धन प्राप्त करता है. (२१)

The man who sacrifices this agni through the human beings receives wealth with a more athletic and heroic child. (21)
प्र॒थ॒मं जा॒तवे॑दसम॒ग्निं य॒ज्ञेषु॑ पू॒र्व्यम् । प्रति॒ स्रुगे॑ति॒ नम॑सा ह॒विष्म॑ती ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हव्य से युक्त खुच देवों में प्रधान, जातवेद एवं प्राचीन अग्नि के समीप नमस्कार के हेतु साथ जाता है. (२२)
EN English Translation
Among the khuch devas with havya, the pradhan goes with him for salutations near the jataveda and the ancient agni. (22)
आभि॑र्विधेमा॒ग्नये॒ ज्येष्ठा॑भिर्व्यश्व॒वत् । मंहि॑ष्ठाभिर्म॒तिभिः॑ शु॒क्रशो॑चिषे ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम व्यश्च ऋषि के समान ही उज्ज्वल तेज वाले अग्नि की सेवा अत्यंत प्रशंसायोग्य एवं पूज्यतम स्तुतियों द्वारा करते हैं. (२३)
EN English Translation
We serve the agni with the brightest brightness as the individual sage with the most praiseworthy and revered praises. (23)
नू॒नम॑र्च॒ विहा॑यसे॒ स्तोमे॑भिः स्थूरयूप॒वत् । ऋषे॑ वैयश्व॒ दम्या॑या॒ग्नये॑ ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे व्यश्च के पुत्र ऋषि विश्वमना! तुम स्थूलयूप नामक ऋषि के समान ही महान् एवं यजमान के घर में उत्पन्न अग्नि की पूजा स्तोत्रों द्वारा करो. (२४)
EN English Translation
O sage Vishwamana, son of man! You worship the agni produced in the house of the great and the host by the psalms just like the sage named Grossyup. (24)
अति॑थिं॒ मानु॑षाणां सू॒नुं वन॒स्पती॑नाम् । विप्रा॑ अ॒ग्निमव॑से प्र॒त्नमी॑ळते ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मेधावी यजमान रक्षा के लिए मनुष्यों के अतिथि, वनस्पतियों के पुत्र तथा प्राचीन अग्नि की स्तुति करते हैं. (२५)

The bright hosts praise the guests of man, the son of plants and the ancient agni for protection. (25)
म॒हो विश्वा॑ँ अ॒भि ष॒तो॒३॒॑ऽभि ह॒व्यानि॒ मानु॑षा । अग्ने॒ नि ष॑त्सि॒ नम॒साधि॑ ब॒र्हिषि॑ ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तुति योग्य अग्नि! सभी महान् स्तोताओं के सामने तुम कुशों पर बैठो एवं मानवों का हव्य स्वीकार करो. (२६)
EN English Translation
O agni of praise! Sit on the cushions in front of all the great hymns and accept the greetings of the human beings. (26)
वंस्वा॑ नो॒ वार्या॑ पु॒रु वंस्व॑ रा॒यः पु॑रु॒स्पृहः॑ । सु॒वीर्य॑स्य प्र॒जाव॑तो॒ यश॑स्वतः ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हमें गौ आदि वरणीय संपत्ति तथा बहुतों द्वारा इच्छित धन दो जो शोभन शक्ति वाले पुत्र-पौत्रों से युक्त एवं कीर्ति वाला हो. (२७)
EN English Translation
O agni! Give us the wealth of cows, etc., and the money desired by many, which is full of sons and grandsons with adornment and fame. (27)
त्वं व॑रो सु॒षाम्णेऽग्ने॒ जना॑य चोदय । सदा॑ वसो रा॒तिं य॑विष्ठ॒ शश्व॑ते ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वरणीय, निवासस्थान देने वाले एवं अतिशय युवा अग्नि! सोम का सुंदर गान करने वालों के प्रति सदा धन को प्रेरित करो. (२८)
EN English Translation
O the native, the abode-giver and the most young agni! Always inspire wealth towards those who sing the beautiful anthem of Mon. (28)
त्वं हि सु॑प्र॒तूरसि॒ त्वं नो॒ गोम॑ती॒रिषः॑ । म॒हो रा॒यः सा॒तिम॑ग्ने॒ अपा॑ वृधि ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम शोभन दाता हो. हमें पशुओं से युक्त अन्न एवं देने योग्य महान् धन दो. (२९)

O agni! You are a behobhna giver. Give us food with animals and great wealth to give. (29)
अग्ने॒ त्वं य॒शा अ॒स्या मि॒त्रावरु॑णा वह । ऋ॒तावा॑ना स॒म्राजा॑ पू॒तद॑क्षसा ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम यशस्वी हो. तुम यज्ञयुक्त, भली प्रकार दीप्तिशाली एवं युद्ध बल वाले मित्र व वरुण को इस यज्ञ में ले आओ. (३०)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are successful. You bring the sacrificial, well-lit and war-strong friend and Varuna to this yagna. (30)
