इन्द्रा॑य॒ साम॑ गायत॒ विप्रा॑य बृह॒ते बृ॒हत् । ध॒र्म॒कृते॑ विप॒श्चिते॑ पन॒स्यवे॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उदगाताओ! मेधावी, महान्, यज्ञकर्मकर्तता, विद्वान् एवं स्तोत्रों के अभिलाषी इंद्र को बृहत् साम गाकर सुनाओ. (१)
EN English Translation
O ugatao! Sing a great sum to indra, the bright, the great, the seeker of the yagnakarta, the scholar and the desire of the hymns. (1)
त्वमि॑न्द्राभि॒भूर॑सि॒ त्वं सूर्य॑मरोचयः । वि॒श्वक॑र्मा वि॒श्वदे॑वो म॒हाँ अ॑सि ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम शत्रुओं को हराने वाले हो. तुमने सूर्य को तेजस्वी बनाया है. तुम विश्वकर्मा, विश्वेदेव एवं महान् हो. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are going to defeat the enemies. You have made the sun bright. You are Vishwakarma, Vishvadev and Great. (2)
वि॒भ्राज॒ञ्ज्योति॑षा॒ स्व१॒॑रग॑च्छो रोच॒नं दि॒वः । दे॒वास्त॑ इन्द्र स॒ख्याय॑ येमिरे ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम अपनी ज्योति द्वारा सूर्य के प्रकाशक बनकर स्वर्ग को दीप्तिशाली बनाने गए थे. देवों ने तुम्हारी मित्रता के लिए प्रयत्न किया था. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You went to make heaven radiant by becoming the illuminator of the sun through your light. The gods tried for your friendship. (3)
एन्द्र॑ नो गधि प्रि॒यः स॑त्रा॒जिदगो॑ह्यः । गि॒रिर्न वि॒श्वत॑स्पृ॒थुः पति॑र्दि॒वः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रियतम, महान् लोगों को जीतने वाले, किसी के द्वारा न छिपने वाले, पर्वत के समान चारों ओर विस्तृत एवं स्वर्ग के स्वामी इंद्र! तुम हमारे पास आओ. (४)
EN English Translation
O beloved, the conqueror of the great people, who is not hidden by anyone, wide around like a mountain and the lord of heaven Indra! You come to us. (4)
अ॒भि हि स॑त्य सोमपा उ॒भे ब॒भूथ॒ रोद॑सी । इन्द्रासि॑ सुन्व॒तो वृ॒धः पति॑र्दि॒वः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सत्यरूप वाले एवं सोमपानकर्ता इंद्र! तुमने द्यावा-पृथिवी को पराजित किया है. तुम सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले के वर्धक एवं स्वर्ग के स्वामी हो. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra, the one of truth and the doomshak! You have defeated Dyava-Prithvivi. You are the enhancer of the somras squeezer and the master of heaven. (5)
त्वं हि शश्व॑तीना॒मिन्द्र॑ द॒र्ता पु॒रामसि॑ । ह॒न्ता दस्यो॒र्मनो॑र्वृ॒धः पति॑र्दि॒वः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम शत्रुओं की अनेक नगरियों को तोड़ने वाले हो. तुम दस्युजनों के हंता, मनुष्यों को बढ़ाने वाले और स्वर्ग के स्वामी हो. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are going to break many cities of enemies. You are the heirs of bandits, the ones who raise men, and the masters of heaven. (6)
अधा॒ ही॑न्द्र गिर्वण॒ उप॑ त्वा॒ कामा॑न्म॒हः स॑सृ॒ज्महे॑ । उ॒देव॒ यन्त॑ उ॒दभिः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तुति-योग्य इंद्र! जिस प्रकार जलक्रीड़ा करते हुए लोग दूसरों पर जल उछालते हैं, उसी प्रकार हम महान् एवं चाहने योग्य स्तोत्र तुम्हारी ओर भेजते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O you praise-worthy Indra! Just as people throw water at others while doing water sports, so we send great and desirable hymns to you. (7)
वार्ण त्वा॑ य॒व्याभि॒र्वर्ध॑न्ति शूर॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि । वा॒वृ॒ध्वांसं॑ चिदद्रिवो दि॒वेदि॑वे ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर एवं वज्रधारी इंद्र! जिस प्रकार नदियां जल से सागर को बढ़ाती हैं, उसी प्रकार स्तोता तुम्हें बढ़ाते हैं. तुम स्तोत्रों द्वारा बढ़ने वाले हो. (८)
EN English Translation
O Shur and Vajradhari Indra! Just as rivers raise the ocean with water, so do the hymns increase you. You're going to grow by hymns. (8)
यु॒ञ्जन्ति॒ हरी॑ इषि॒रस्य॒ गाथ॑यो॒रौ रथ॑ उ॒रुयु॑गे । इ॒न्द्र॒वाहा॑ वचो॒युजा॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तोता गतिशील इंद्र के विशाल जुए वाले महान् रथ में इंद्र को ढोने वाले एवं आज्ञा मात्र से जुड़ जाने वाले हरि नामक अश्चों को स्तोत्रों के साथ जोड़ते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
The Stotas connect with the hymns with the hymns the aschas called Hari, who carry Indra and connect with the mere command, in the great chariot of the moving Indra. (9)
त्वं न॑ इ॒न्द्रा भ॑र॒ँ ओजो॑ नृ॒म्णं श॑तक्रतो विचर्षणे । आ वी॒रं पृ॑तना॒षह॑म् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बहु कर्म करने वाले, विशेषरूप से देखने वाले, शक्तियुक्त एवं सेना को पराजित करने वाले इंद्र! हम तुमसे शक्ति और बल मांगते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O indra who does many deeds, especially the seer, the one who is powerful and defeats the army! We ask you for strength and strength. (10)
त्वं हि नः॑ पि॒ता व॑सो॒ त्वं मा॒ता श॑तक्रतो ब॒भूवि॑थ । अधा॑ ते सु॒म्नमी॑महे ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे निवासस्थान देने वाले एवं बहुकर्मकर्ता इंद्र! तुम हमारे पिता एवं माता बनो. हम तुमसे सुख की याचना करेंगे. (११)
EN English Translation
O Indra, the abode-giver and the multi-worker! Be your father and mother. We will beg you for happiness. (11)
त्वां शु॑ष्मिन्पुरुहूत वाज॒यन्त॒मुप॑ ब्रुवे शतक्रतो । स नो॑ रास्व सु॒वीर्य॑म् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्तिशाली, बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए गए एवं बहुकर्मकर्ता इंद्र! तुम बल की इच्छा करने वाले हो. हम तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं. तुम हमें शोभन संतान वाला धन दो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O mighty, indra, called by many and multi-workers! You are going to desire force. We praise you. You give us the money with a good child. (12)
