अग्न आयूँषि पवस आसुवोर्जमिषं च नः । आरे बाधस्व दुच्छुनाम् ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप हमारे अन्नों की आयु बढ़ाने की कृपा कीजिए. आप हमारी आयु बढ़ाइए. हमारे बल की आयु बढ़ाइए. आप दुष्टों को हम से दूर कीजिए. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! Please increase the life of our grains. You increase our age. Increase the life of our force. You take the wicked away from us. (1)
विभ्राङ्बृहत्पिबतु सोम्यं मध्वायुर्दधद्यज्ञपतावविह्रुतम् । वातजूतो यो अभिरक्षति त्मना प्रजाः पिपर्ति बहुधा वि राजति ॥ (२)

सूर्य बहुत प्रकाशमान हैं. वे खूब सोमरस पीएं. वे यजमानों को निष्कंटक रखें. उन्हें दीर्घायु करें. वायु सूर्य की किरणों को दूरदूर तक पहुंचाते हैं. उन से वे प्रजा का पालन करते हैं. अनेक प्रकार से प्रकाशित होने में समर्थ होते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The sun is very bright. They drink a lot of somerous. They keep the hosts neutral. Make them long. Air transmits the sun's rays far away. From them they follow the subjects. Are able to be published in many ways. (2)
चित्रं देवानामुदगादनीकं चक्षुर्मित्रस्य वरुणस्याग्नेः । आप्रा द्यावापृथिवी अन्तरिक्षँ सूर्य आत्मा जगतस्तस्थुषश्च ॥ (३)

सूर्य देवताओं के दिव्य तेज का समूह हैं. वे मित्र, वरुण तथा अन्ने के नेत्र हैं. सूर्य के उगते ही स्वर्गलोक, पृथ्वीलोक और अंतरिक्षलोक आदि सभी उन के प्रकाश से जगमगा जाते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
The Sun is the set of divine radiances of the gods. They are friends, eyes of Varuna and Anne. As soon as the sun rises, heaven, earth and space world etc. are all illuminated by their light. (3)
आयं गौः पृश्निरक्रमीदसदन्मातरं पुरः । पितरं च प्रयन्त्स्वः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य गतिशील व तेजस्वी हैं. वे उदित हो कर ऊपर स्थित हो जाते हैं. सब से पहले वे पृथ्वीलोक (माता), फिर स्वर्गलोक (पिता) फिर अंतरिक्षलोक को प्राप्त होते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The sun is dynamic and bright. They rise and become located above. First of all, they attain earthland (mother), then heaven (father) and then space. (4)
अन्तश्चरति रोचनास्य प्राणादपानती । व्यख्यन्महिषो दिवम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य का प्रकाश अपनी किरणों से आकाश में घूमता है. सूर्य के उगने पर ये किरणें दिखती हैं और अस्त होने पर गायब हो जाती हैं. सूर्य अंतरिक्षलोक को विशेष रूप से प्रकाशित करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Sunlight rotates in the sky with its rays. These rays appear when the sun rises and disappear when it sets. The Sun illuminates space space exclusively. (5)
त्रिँषद्धाम वि राजति वाक्पतङ्गाय धीयते । प्रति वस्तोरह द्युभिः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दिन की तीस घड़ियों तक सूर्य अपनी किरणों से प्रकाशित होते हैं. इन सूर्य के लिए हर एक मुख वेदवाणी उचारता है (स्तुति करता है). (६)
EN English Translation
Up to thirty clocks of the day, the sun is illuminated by its rays. For these suns, every mouth speaks (praises) the Vedas. (6)
अप त्ये तायवो यथा नक्षत्रा यन्त्यक्तुभिः । सूराय विश्वचक्षसे ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दिन में जैसे चोर छिप जाते हैं, वैसे ही सूर्य के उगने पर ग्रह, नक्षत्र, तारागण आदि छिप जाते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Just as thieves hide during the day, planets, constellations, stars, etc. are hidden when the sun rises. (7)
अदृश्रन्नस्य केतवो वि रश्मयो जनाँ अनु । भ्राजन्तो अग्नयो यथा ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जैसे हम जलती हुई अग्नि की ज्वाला देख सकते हैं, वैसे ही सूर्य की प्रकाशित किरणों को हम देख सकते हैं. वे सब को देख सकती हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
Just as we can see the flame of burning agni, so we can see the illuminated rays of the sun. They can see everyone. (8)
तरणिर्विश्वदर्शतो ज्योतिष्कृदसि सूर्य । विश्वमाभासि रोचनम् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूर्य! आप सब को पार लगाने वाले हैं. आप सारे संसार को देख सकते हैं. आप सब को प्रकाशित कर सकते हैं. चंद्रमा, ग्रह, नक्षत्र आदि को आप ही चमकाते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O sun! You are going to cross everyone. You can see the whole world. You can publish all. You shine the moon, planets, constellations, etc. (9)
प्रत्यङ् देवानां विशः प्रत्यङ्ङुदेषि मानुषान् । प्रत्यङ् विश्वँ स्वर्दृशे ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूर्य! आप मरुदगणों के देखते हुए उन के सामने उदित होते हैं. आप मनुष्यों के देखते हुए उदित होते हैं. आप सभी के देखते हुए यानी सब के सामने प्रकट होते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O sun! You rise in front of the deserts while looking at them. You rise when you look at humans. You appear in front of everyone. (10)
येना पावक चक्षसा भुरण्यन्तं जनाँ अनु । त्वं वरुण पश्यसि ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूर्य! आप सभी को पवित्र व प्रकाशित करने वाले हैं. आप जिस प्रकाश से सब को प्रकाशित करते हैं हम उस की उपासना करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
O sun! You are going to sanctify and illuminate everyone. We worship the light with which you illuminate all. (11)
उद्द्यामेषि रजः पृथ्वहा मिमानो अक्तुभिः । पश्यञ्जन्मानि सूर्य ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूर्य! आप देहधारियों को प्रकाशित करते हैं. आप दिन को रात्रि से नापते हैं. आप स्वर्गलोक और अंतरिक्षलोक को भी अपने प्रकाश से प्रकाशित कर देते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
O sun! You publish the incarnations. You measure the day by night. You also illuminate heaven and space world with your light. (12)
अयुक्त सप्त शुन्ध्युवः सूरो रथस्य नप्त्र्यः । ताभिर्याति स्वयुक्तिभिः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य ने रथ में घोड़े जोत रखे हैं. वे सातों घोड़े शुद्धकारी हैं. किरण रूपी घोड़ों से सूर्य सर्वत्र जाते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
The sun has kept horses in the chariot. Those seven horses are purifying. The sun goes everywhere with the horses of rays. (13)
सप्त त्वा हरितो रथे वहन्ति देव सूर्य । शोचिष्केशं विचक्षण ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूर्य! आप प्रकाशित करने वाले हैं. सात किरण रूपी घोड़े आप के रथ को ले जाते हैं. ये किरणें शुद्ध करने वाली हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
O sun! You are about to publish. Seven ray horses carry your chariot. These rays are purifying. (14)
