तं प्र॒त्नथा॑ पू॒र्वथा॑ वि॒श्वथे॒मथा॑ ज्ये॒ष्ठता॑तिं बर्हि॒षदं॑ स्व॒र्विद॑म् । प्र॒ती॒ची॒नं वृ॒जनं॑ दोहसे गि॒राशुं जय॑न्त॒मनु॒ यासु॒ वर्ध॑से ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अंतरात्मा! पुराने यजमान, हमारे पूर्वज, समस्त प्राणी एवं आधुनिक लोग जिस प्रकार देवों में श्रेष्ठ, कुश पर विराजने वाले, सर्वज्ञ, हमारे सामने उपस्थित, शक्तिशाली, शीघ्रगामी एवं सबको हराने वाले इंद्र की स्तुति करके सफल मनोरथ हुए थे, उसी प्रकार तुम भी बनो. (१)
EN English Translation
O conscience! Just as the old hosts, our ancestors, all beings and modern people were successful by praising indra, the best of the gods, the one who ascended to kusha, the all-knowing, the one before us, the mighty, the quick and the defeater, so be you. (1)
श्रि॒ये सु॒दृशी॒रुप॑रस्य॒ याः स्व॑र्वि॒रोच॑मानः क॒कुभा॑मचो॒दते॑ । सु॒गो॒पा अ॑सि॒ न दभा॑य सुक्रतो प॒रो मा॒याभि॑रृ॒त आ॑स॒ नाम॑ ते ॥ (२)

हे स्वर्ग में दीप्तिशाली इंद्र! गतिहीन-मेघ के भीतर के शोभन-जल को तुम सभी प्राणियों के हित के लिए समस्त दिशाओं में पहुंचाओ. हे शोभन-कर्म करने वाले इंद्र! तुम प्राणियों के रक्षक बनो, उनकी हिंसा मत करो. तुम आसुरी मायाओं से परे हो, इसलिए सत्यलोक में तुम्हारा नाम है. (२)
EN English Translation
O glorious Indra in heaven! Deliver the sobnothwater within the motionless cloud in all directions for the benefit of all you beings. O Indra, who does good deeds! You become the protector of beings, don't do their violence. You are beyond the asuri maya, so your name is in satyaloka. (2)
अत्यं॑ ह॒विः स॑चते॒ सच्च॒ धातु॒ चारि॑ष्टगातुः॒ स होता॑ सहो॒भरिः॑ । प्र॒सर्स्रा॑णो॒ अनु॑ ब॒र्हिर्वृषा॒ शिशु॒र्मध्ये॒ युवा॒जरो॑ वि॒स्रुहा॑ हि॒तः ॥ (३)

अग्नि सत्य, फलसाधक एवं सबको धारण करने वाले हव्य को सदा स्वीकार करते हैं. अग्नि बाधाहीन गति वाले, होम-निष्पादक एवं शक्तिदाता हैं. वे कुशों पर बैठने वाले, वर्षाकारी, ओषधियों में स्थित, शिशु, युवा एवं जरारहित हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Fire always accepts the truth, the fruit-giver and the one who possesses all of them. Fires are non-barrier-prone, home-executing and power-giver. They are seated on the kushas, rain-fed, nestled, infantile, young and uninhibited. (3)
प्र व॑ ए॒ते सु॒युजो॒ याम॑न्नि॒ष्टये॒ नीची॑र॒मुष्मै॑ य॒म्य॑ ऋता॒वृधः॑ । सु॒यन्तु॑भिः सर्वशा॒सैर॒भीशु॑भिः॒ क्रिवि॒र्नामा॑नि प्रव॒णे मु॑षायति ॥ (४)

यज्ञ में जाने की इच्छुक, निम्न गतिशील, यजमानों द्वारा प्राप्त करने योग्य, यज्ञ बढ़ाने वाली, शोभन गमनशील एवं सब पर शासन करने वाली किरणों द्वारा सूर्य निचले स्थान में भरे जल को चुराता है. (४)
EN English Translation
The sun steals the water filled in the lower place by the rays that wish to go to the yagna, the low dynamic, the attainable by the hosts, the sacrificial enhancer, the adornment, the moving and the ruling over all. (4)
सं॒जर्भु॑राण॒स्तरु॑भिः सुते॒गृभं॑ वया॒किनं॑ चि॒त्तग॑र्भासु सु॒स्वरुः॑ । धा॒र॒वा॒केष्वृ॑जुगाथ शोभसे॒ वर्ध॑स्व॒ पत्नी॑र॒भि जी॒वो अ॑ध्व॒रे ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शोभन स्तुतियों वाले अग्नि! लकड़ी के बने पात्र में रखे एवं निचोड़े हुए सोमरस को पीकर एवं मनोहर स्तुतियों को सुनकर जब तुम प्रसन्न होते हो, तब तुम ऋत्विजों से विशेष शोभा पाते हो. तुम यज्ञ में सबको जीवन देने वाली एवं सबका रक्षण करने वाली ज्वालाओं को बढ़ाओ. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni with glorious praises! When you are pleased to drink the somras kept in a wooden vessel and listen to the beautiful hymns and squeezed, you get a special adornment from the ritvijas. You increase the flames that give life to all and protect everyone in the yajna. (5)
या॒दृगे॒व ददृ॑शे ता॒दृगु॑च्यते॒ सं छा॒यया॑ दधिरे सि॒ध्रया॒प्स्वा । म॒हीम॒स्मभ्य॑मुरु॒षामु॒रु ज्रयो॑ बृ॒हत्सु॒वीर॒मन॑पच्युतं॒ सहः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यह समस्त देवों का समूह जैसा दिखाई देता है वैसा ही वर्णन किया जाता है. अभिलाषा पूर्ण करने वाली उस दीप्ति से वे जल में अपना रूप स्थिर करते हैं. वे महान् एवं बहुत देने वाला धन महान् वेग, वीरतायुक्त पुत्र एवं समाप्त न होने वाला बल दें. (६)
EN English Translation
It is described as the group of all gods. With that glow that fulfills the desire, they stabilize their form in the water. They give great and very giving money, great speed, heroic sons and non-finished strength. (6)
वेत्यग्रु॒र्जनि॑वा॒न्वा अति॒ स्पृधः॑ समर्य॒ता मन॑सा॒ सूर्यः॑ क॒विः । घ्रं॒सं रक्ष॑न्तं॒ परि॑ वि॒श्वतो॒ गय॑म॒स्माकं॒ शर्म॑ वनव॒त्स्वाव॑सुः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सर्वज्ञ, असुरों के साथ युद्ध के इच्छुक, आगे चलने वाले, अपनी पत्नी उषा के साथ आगे बढ़ने के अभिलाषी एवं धन के स्वामी सूर्य हमारे लिए दीप्तिशाली एवं समस्त रक्षासाधनों वाला घर और संपूर्ण सुख दें. (७)
EN English Translation
May the omniscient, willing to fight with the asuras, those who move forward, who desire to move forward with his wife Usha and the lord of wealth, may the Sun, give us a house with bright and all the protective means and complete happiness. (7)
ज्यायां॑सम॒स्य य॒तुन॑स्य के॒तुन॑ ऋषिस्व॒रं च॑रति॒ यासु॒ नाम॑ ते । या॒दृश्मि॒न्धायि॒ तम॑प॒स्यया॑ विद॒द्य उ॑ स्व॒यं वह॑ते॒ सो अरं॑ करत् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय वृद्ध ऋषियों द्वारा स्तुत एवं गमनशील सूर्य! जिन स्तुतियों में तुम्हारे प्रति श्रद्धा भाव है, तुम्हें प्रसिद्ध करने वाले कमों से युक्त उन स्तुतियों द्वारा यजमान तुम्हारी सेवा करते हैं. वे जिस बात की कामना करते हैं, उसे वास्तविक रूप से जान लेते हैं. अपनी इच्छा से तुम्हारी सेवा करने वाले पर्याप्त फल पाते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
O sun praised and moved by the most aged sages! The hosts serve you by those praises that have reverence for you, those praises containing those who make you famous. They really know what they want. Those who serve you of their own will get enough fruit. (8)
स॒मु॒द्रमा॑सा॒मव॑ तस्थे अग्रि॒मा न रि॑ष्यति॒ सव॑नं॒ यस्मि॒न्नाय॑ता । अत्रा॒ न हार्दि॑ क्रव॒णस्य॑ रेजते॒ यत्रा॑ म॒तिर्वि॒द्यते॑ पूत॒बन्ध॑नी ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारा प्रधान स्तोत्र उसी प्रकार सूर्य को प्राप्त हो, जिस प्रकार सरिताएं सागर के पास जाती हैं. यज्ञशाला में की गई सूर्यस्तुति कभी समाप्त नहीं होती, जिस स्थान में सूर्य के प्रति पवित्र भावना रहती है, वहां यजमानों की अभिलाषा कभी अपूर्ण नहीं रहती. (९)
EN English Translation
May our main hymns be received by the sun in the same way that the saritas go to the sea. The suryasuti performed in the yajnashala never ends, in the place where there is a sacred feeling for the sun, the desire of the hosts is never incomplete. (9)
स हि क्ष॒त्रस्य॑ मन॒सस्य॒ चित्ति॑भिरेवाव॒दस्य॑ यज॒तस्य॒ सध्रेः॑ । अ॒व॒त्सा॒रस्य॑ स्पृणवाम॒ रण्व॑भिः॒ शवि॑ष्ठं॒ वाजं॑ वि॒दुषा॑ चि॒दर्ध्य॑म् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम क्षत्र, मनस, अवद, यजत, सध्रि एवं अवत्सार नामक ऋषि विद्वानों के भी पूज्य एवं सबके कामपूरक सूर्य से ज्ञानियों द्वारा भोगने योग्य अन्न की पूर्ति कराते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
We also provide the food that is enjoyable by the wise from the sun, which is the worshiper of sage scholars named Ksat, Manas, Avad, Yajat, Sadhri and Avtasar and the full sun of all. (10)
श्ये॒न आ॑सा॒मदि॑तिः क॒क्ष्यो॒३॒॑ मदो॑ वि॒श्ववा॑रस्य यज॒तस्य॑ मा॒यिनः॑ । सम॒न्यम॑न्यमर्थय॒न्त्येत॑वे वि॒दुर्वि॒षाणं॑ परि॒पान॒मन्ति॒ ते ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विश्ववार, यजत एवं मायी नामक ऋषियों का सोमरस-संबंधी नशा बाज के समान तेज एवं अदिति के समान विस्तृत है. वे सोमरस पीने के लिए एक-दूसरे से याचना करते हैं एवं अंत में विशेष प्रकार का मद प्राप्त करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
Worldwide, the somras-related intoxication of the sages named Yajat and Mayi is as fast as that of the hawk and as wide as aditi. They beg each other to drink somras and finally get a special type of item. (11)
स॒दा॒पृ॒णो य॑ज॒तो वि द्विषो॑ वधीद्बाहुवृ॒क्तः श्रु॑त॒वित्तर्यो॑ वः॒ सचा॑ । उ॒भा स वरा॒ प्रत्ये॑ति॒ भाति॑ च॒ यदीं॑ ग॒णं भज॑ते सुप्र॒याव॑भिः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सदापृण, यजत, वाहुवृक्त, श्रुतवित एवं तर्य नामक ऋषि तुम्हारे हितैषी बनकर तुम्हारे शत्रुओं का नाश करें. ये ऋषि दोनों लोकों की कामनाओं को प्राप्त करके दीप्तिसंपन्न बनते हैं. ये विविध स्तोत्रों द्वारा विश्वदेवों की उपासना करते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
May the sages named Sadaprina, Yajat, Vahuvrita, Shrutvita and Taraya be your benefactors and destroy your enemies. These sages become bright by attaining the wishes of both the people. They worship the Vishwadevas through various hymns. (12)
सु॒त॒म्भ॒रो यज॑मानस्य॒ सत्प॑ति॒र्विश्वा॑सा॒मूधः॒ स धि॒यामु॒दञ्च॑नः । भर॑द्धे॒नू रस॑वच्छिश्रिये॒ पयो॑ऽनुब्रुवा॒णो अध्ये॑ति॒ न स्व॒पन् ॥ (१३)

मुझ अवत्सार नामक यजमान के यज्ञ में सुतंभर नामक ऋषि फलों का पालन करते हैं. वे सभी यज्ञकर्मो को उन्नत फल की ओर प्रेरित करते हैं. गायें दूध देती हैं. मधुर दूध बांटा जाता है. निद्रा से जागकर अवत्सार इस प्रकार बोलते हुए अध्ययन करते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
In the yajna of a host named Avatsar, a sage named Sutanbhar follows the fruits. They all inspire yajnakarmas towards advanced fruit. Cows give milk. Sweet milk is distributed. Waking up from sleep, the avatsars study by speaking in this way. (13)
यो जा॒गार॒ तमृचः॑ कामयन्ते॒ यो जा॒गार॒ तमु॒ सामा॑नि यन्ति । यो जा॒गार॒ तम॒यं सोम॑ आह॒ तवा॒हम॑स्मि स॒ख्ये न्यो॑काः ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो देव यज्ञशाला में सदा जाग्रत रहते हैं, ऋचाएं उनकी कामना करती हैं. स्तोत्र जागने वाले देव को ही प्राप्त होते हैं, जागने वाले देव से सोम ने कहा-“मैं तुम्हारा हूं, मैं तुम्हारे नियत स्थान में तुम्हारे साथ रहूं.” (१४)
EN English Translation
Those who are always awake in the god yajnashala, the riches wish for them. The hymns are received only by the waking God, and To the waking God, Som said, "I am yours, I will be with you in your appointed place." (14)
अ॒ग्निर्जा॑गार॒ तमृचः॑ कामयन्ते॒ऽग्निर्जा॑गार॒ तमु॒ सामा॑नि यन्ति । अ॒ग्निर्जा॑गार॒ तम॒यं सोम॑ आह॒ तवा॒हम॑स्मि स॒ख्ये न्यो॑काः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि देव यज्ञशाला में सदा जागने वाले हैं, ऋचाएं उनकी कामना करती हैं. सदा जागने वाले अग्नि देव को ही स्तोत्र प्राप्त होते हैं. जागने वाले अग्नि देव से सोमरस कहे — “मैं तुम्हारा हूं. हे अग्नि! मैं तुम्हारे निश्चित स्थान में तुम्हारे साथ रहूं.” (१५)
EN English Translation
Agni Dev is always awake in the yajnashala, the riches wish him. Only the eternally awake agni god receives hymns. Someras say to the awakening agni god, "I am yours. O agni! I'll be with you in your own place." (15)
