सखा॑य॒ आ शि॑षामहि॒ ब्रह्मेन्द्रा॑य व॒ज्रिणे॑ । स्तु॒ष ऊ॒ षु वो॒ नृत॑माय धृ॒ष्णवे॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र एवं ऋत्विजो! हम वज्रधारी इंद्र के लिए यह स्तोत्र बनावेंगे. तुम्हारे कल्याण के लिए युद्धों का नेतृत्व करने वाले एवं शत्रुओं को हराने वाले इंद्र की मैं स्तुति करूंगा. (१)
EN English Translation
Oh my friend and Ritwijo! We will make this hymn for the thunderbolt Indra. I will praise Indra, who led wars and defeated enemies for your welfare. (1)
शव॑सा॒ ह्यसि॑ श्रु॒तो वृ॑त्र॒हत्ये॑न वृत्र॒हा । म॒घैर्म॒घोनो॒ अति॑ शूर दाशसि ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम शक्ति के कारण प्रसिद्ध हो एवं वृत्र को मारने के कारण वृत्रहर कहलाते हो. हे शूर इंद्र! तुम धनवान् व्यक्ति को धन देकर अधिक धनी बनाते हो. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are famous for your power and are called Vrithrahar because of killing the vritra. O Shur Indra! You make a rich person richer by giving him money. (2)
स नः॒ स्तवा॑न॒ आ भ॑र र॒यिं चि॒त्रश्र॑वस्तमम् । नि॒रे॒के चि॒द्यो ह॑रिवो॒ वसु॑र्द॒दिः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम हमारी स्तुति सुनकर हमें नानाविध अन्नों से युक्त धन अधिक मात्रा में दो. हे हरि नामक घोड़ों के स्वामी इंद्र! तुम निकलते समय ही शत्रुओं को भगाने वाले एवं हमें धन देने वाले होते हो. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You hear our praise and give us more money rich with various grains. O Indra, lord of horses named Hari! You are the one who drives away the enemies and gives us money when you leave. (3)
आ नि॑रे॒कमु॒त प्रि॒यमिन्द्र॒ दर्षि॒ जना॑नाम् । धृ॒ष॒ता धृ॑ष्णो॒ स्तव॑मान॒ आ भ॑र ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुनाशक इंद्र! तुम हमारी स्तुति सुनकर हम स्तोताओं को प्रिय धन दिखाओ एवं दुष्ट मन द्वारा वह धन हमें दो. (४)
EN English Translation
O enemies Indra! You hear our praise, show us the beloved wealth to the psalms and give us that money with an evil heart. (4)
न ते॑ स॒व्यं न दक्षि॑णं॒ हस्तं॑ वरन्त आ॒मुरः॑ । न प॑रि॒बाधो॑ हरिवो॒ गवि॑ष्टिषु ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे हरि नामक घोड़ों वाले इंद्र! गायों को खोजते समय विरोधी पक्ष के योद्धा न तुम्हारा बायां हाथ हटा सकते हैं और न दायां. संग्राम में बाधा पहुंचाने वाले असुर भी यह नहीं कर सकते. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra with horses called Hari! When searching for cows, the warriors of the opposing side can neither remove your left hand nor the right hand. Even the asuras who obstruct the struggle cannot do this. (5)
आ त्वा॒ गोभि॑रिव व्र॒जं गी॒र्भिरृ॑णोम्यद्रिवः । आ स्मा॒ कामं॑ जरि॒तुरा मनः॑ पृण ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! लोग जिस प्रकार गायों के साथ गोशाला में जाते हैं, इसी प्रकार मैं स्तुतियों के साथ तुम्हारे पास आता हूं. तुम मुझ स्तोता की धन संबंधी अभिलाषा एवं मनोकामना पूरी करो. (६)
EN English Translation
O thunderbolt Indra! Just as people go to the goshala with cows, so I come to you with praises. You fulfill the wealth desire and desire of my sonta. (6)
विश्वा॑नि वि॒श्वम॑नसो धि॒या नो॑ वृत्रहन्तम । उग्र॑ प्रणेत॒रधि॒ षू व॑सो गहि ॥ (७)

हे असुर-विनाशकों में श्रेष्ठ, उग्र, निवासस्थान देने वाले एवं नेता इंद्र! विश्वमना ऋषि के सभी स्तोत्रों को सुनकर आओ. (७)
EN English Translation
O the asuras, the best of the destroyers, the fierce, the abode-giver and the leader Indra! Come listen to all the hymns of Sage Vishwamana. (7)
व॒यं ते॑ अ॒स्य वृ॑त्रहन्वि॒द्याम॑ शूर॒ नव्य॑सः । वसोः॑ स्पा॒र्हस्य॑ पुरुहूत॒ राध॑सः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वृत्रनाशक, शूर एवं बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए गए इंद्र! हम तुम्हारी कृपा से नवीन, चाहने योग्य एवं सुखसाधक धन प्राप्त करें. (८)
EN English Translation
O the conqueror, the knight, and indra called by many! May we receive new, desirable and comfortable wealth by your grace. (8)
इन्द्र॒ यथा॒ ह्यस्ति॒ तेऽप॑रीतं नृतो॒ शवः॑ । अमृ॑क्ता रा॒तिः पु॑रुहूत दा॒शुषे॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सबको नचाने वाले इंद्र! तुम्हारा बल शत्रुओं द्वारा दबाया नहीं जा सकता. हे बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए गए इंद्र! हव्यदाता यजमान को तुम्हारे द्वारा दिया हुआ धन शत्रुओं द्वारा नष्ट नहीं होता. (९)
EN English Translation
This is Indra who dances to all! Your force cannot be suppressed by enemies. O Indra called by many! The money you give to the husband's host is not destroyed by the enemies. (9)
आ वृ॑षस्व महामह म॒हे नृ॑तम॒ राध॑से । दृ॒ळ्हश्चि॑द्दृह्य मघवन्म॒घत्त॑ये ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय पूजनीय एवं नेताओं में श्रेष्ठ इंद्र! शत्रुओं का महान् धन प्राप्त करने के लिए सोमरस से अपना उदर भरो. हे धनवान् इंद्र! धनलाभ के लिए तुम शत्रुओं के दृढ़ नगरों को भी नष्ट करो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O most revered and the best of the leaders Indra! Fill your stomach with somras to get the great wealth of enemies. O Rich Indra! For the sake of wealth, you also destroy the fortified cities of the enemies. (10)
नू अ॒न्यत्रा॑ चिदद्रिव॒स्त्वन्नो॑ जग्मुरा॒शसः॑ । मघ॑वञ्छ॒ग्धि तव॒ तन्न॑ ऊ॒तिभिः॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! तुमसे पहले हमने अन्य देवों से धनादि पाने की आशाएं की थीं. हे धनवान् इंद्र! तुम रक्षा के साथ हमारी आशाएं पूरी करो. (११)
EN English Translation
O thunderbolt Indra! Before you, we had hoped to get dhanadi from other gods. O Rich Indra! You fulfill our hopes with defense. (11)
न॒ह्य१॒॑ङ्ग नृ॑तो॒ त्वद॒न्यं वि॒न्दामि॒ राध॑से । रा॒ये द्यु॒म्नाय॒ शव॑से च गिर्वणः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सबको नचाने वाले एवं स्तुति योग्य इंद्र! मैं बलप्रद अन्न, धन, तेजस्वी यश एवं बल पाने के लिए तुम्हारे अतिरिक्त किसी को नहीं पाता. (१२)
EN English Translation
O indra who makes everyone dance and praiseworthy! I can't find anyone but you to get powerful food, wealth, tremendous fame and strength. (12)
एन्दु॒मिन्द्रा॑य सिञ्चत॒ पिबा॑ति सो॒म्यं मधु॑ । प्र राध॑सा चोदयाते महित्व॒ना ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! तुम इंद्र के लिए सोमरस निचोड़ो. वे ही मधुर सोमरस पीएं. वे अपने महत्त्व से स्तोताओं को अन्न के साथ धन भी देते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! You squeeze the somras for Indra. They drink the same sweet somras. They also give money along with food to the stoetas by their importance. (13)
उपो॒ हरी॑णां॒ पतिं॒ दक्षं॑ पृ॒ञ्चन्त॑मब्रवम् । नू॒नं श्रु॑धि स्तुव॒तो अ॒श्व्यस्य॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं हरि नामक अश्चों के स्वामी एवं अपना बल दूसरों को देने वाले इंद्र की स्तुति करता हूं. मैं व्यश्च ऋषि का पुत्र हूं. मेरी स्तुति सुनो. (१४)
EN English Translation
I praise Indra, the master of ashas called Hari, and who gave his strength to others. I am the son of a sage. Listen to my praise. (14)
न॒ह्य१॒॑ङ्ग पु॒रा च॒न ज॒ज्ञे वी॒रत॑र॒स्त्वत् । नकी॑ रा॒या नैवथा॒ न भ॒न्दना॑ ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! प्राचीनकाल में तुमसे अधिक वीर, धनसंपन्न, शत्रुओं पर आक्रमण करने वाला एवं स्तुति योग्य कोई नहीं हुआ. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! In ancient times, there has been no one more brave, rich, attacking enemies and praiseworthy than you. (15)
एदु॒ मध्वो॑ म॒दिन्त॑रं सि॒ञ्च वा॑ध्वर्यो॒ अन्ध॑सः । ए॒वा हि वी॒रः स्तव॑ते स॒दावृ॑धः ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अध्वर्युगण! तुम मदकारक सोमलता के अतिशय मदकारक अंश सोमरस को इंद्र के लिए निचोड़ो. वीर एवं सदा बढ़ने वाले इंद्र की ही स्तुति की जाती है. (१६)
EN English Translation
O teacher! You squeeze the extreme itemizer fraction of the somalgamata to The Somras to Indra. Only the heroic and ever-growing Indra is praised. (16)
इन्द्र॑ स्थातर्हरीणां॒ नकि॑ष्टे पू॒र्व्यस्तु॑तिम् । उदा॑नंश॒ शव॑सा॒ न भ॒न्दना॑ ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे हरि नामक अश्चों के स्वामी इंद्र! पूर्ववर्ती ऋषियों द्वारा की गई तुम्हारी स्तुति को कोई शक्ति अथवा धन के कारण नहीं लांघ सकता. (१७)
EN English Translation
O Indra, lord of the aschas called Hari! No one can take away the praise of you praised by the former sages because of power or money. (17)
तं वो॒ वाजा॑नां॒ पति॒महू॑महि श्रव॒स्यवः॑ । अप्रा॑युभिर्य॒ज्ञेभि॑र्वावृ॒धेन्य॑म् ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम अन्न के अभिलाषी बनकर ऐसे यज्ञों द्वारा अन्रपति एवं वर्धनशील इंद्र को बुलाते हैं, जो प्रमादहीन ऋत्विजों द्वारा किए जाते हैं. (१८)
EN English Translation
We become seekers of food and call anarapati and vardhanasheel Indra through such yajnas, which are performed by the incorruptible ritvijas. (18)
एतो॒ न्विन्द्रं॒ स्तवा॑म॒ सखा॑यः॒ स्तोम्यं॒ नर॑म् । कृ॒ष्टीर्यो विश्वा॑ अ॒भ्यस्त्येक॒ इत् ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र ऋत्विजो! शीघ्र आओ. हम स्तुति योग्य, नेता एवं अकेले ही सब शत्रु सेनाओं को पराजित करने वाले इंद्र की स्तुति करेंगे. (१९)
EN English Translation
Oh my friend, Ritvizo! Come quickly. We will praise Indra, the leader and single-handedly defeated all enemy armies. (19)
अगो॑रुधाय ग॒विषे॑ द्यु॒क्षाय॒ दस्म्यं॒ वचः॑ । घृ॒तात्स्वादी॑यो॒ मधु॑नश्च वोचत ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! स्तुतियों का विरोध न करने वाले, स्तुति के अभिलाषी व दीप्तिशाली इंद्र के लिए घी और शहद से भी अधिक स्वादिष्ट स्तुतिवचन बोलो. (२०)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! Speak more delicious hymns than ghee and honey to the bright and radiant Indra who does not oppose praise, who does not oppose praise. (20)
यस्यामि॑तानि वी॒र्या॒३॒॑ न राधः॒ पर्ये॑तवे । ज्योति॒र्न विश्व॑म॒भ्यस्ति॒ दक्षि॑णा ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस इंद्र की वीरता के कर्म असीमित हैं, जिसका धन शत्रु नहीं पा सकते एवं जिसका धनदान सब स्तोताओं को इस प्रकार व्याप्त करता है, जैसे प्रकाश आकाश में फैलता है. (२१)
EN English Translation
The deeds of indra's bravery are unlimited, whose wealth cannot find enemies, and whose wealth encompasses all the hymns as the light spreads in the sky. (21)
स्तु॒हीन्द्रं॑ व्यश्व॒वदनू॑र्मिं वा॒जिनं॒ यम॑म् । अ॒र्यो गयं॒ मंह॑मानं॒ वि दा॒शुषे॑ ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे विश्वमना ऋषि! उन्हीं शत्रुओं द्वारा अहिंसनीय, शक्तिशाली एवं स्तोताओं द्वारा नियंत्रित इंद्र की स्तुति व्यश्च ऋषि के समान करो. स्वामी इंद्र हव्यदाता यजमान को पूजनीय घर देते हैं. (२२)
EN English Translation
O Vishwamana Rishi! Praise Indra, who is non-violent, powerful and controlled by hymns by the same enemies, like a sage. Swami Indra gives a house of worship to the havandata host. (22)
ए॒वा नू॒नमुप॑ स्तुहि॒ वैय॑श्व दश॒मं नव॑म् । सुवि॑द्वांसं च॒र्कृत्यं॑ च॒रणी॑नाम् ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे व्यश्वपुत्र विश्वमना ऋषि! मानवों के दसवें प्राण, प्रशंसनीय, उत्तम, विद्वान् व बार-बार नमस्कार करने योग्य इंद्र की स्तुति करो. (२३)
EN English Translation
O son of man, Vishwamana Rishi! Praise the tenth soul of human beings, the praiseworthy, the best, the learned and the worthy of greetings again and again. (23)
वेत्था॒ हि निरृ॑तीनां॒ वज्र॑हस्त परि॒वृज॑म् । अह॑रहः शु॒न्ध्युः प॑रि॒पदा॑मिव ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रहस्त इंद्र! सूर्य जिस प्रकार प्रतिदिन पक्षियों के उड़ने से परिचित रहते हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम राक्षसों की गतियां समझते हो. (२४)
EN English Translation
O Lord Indra! Just as the sun is familiar with the flying of birds every day, so you understand the movements of monsters. (24)
तदि॒न्द्राव॒ आ भ॑र॒ येना॑ दंसिष्ठ॒ कृत्व॑ने । द्वि॒ता कुत्सा॑य शिश्नथो॒ नि चो॑दय ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अत्यंत दर्शनीय इंद्र! हमें अपना आश्रय दो, जिससे हम यज्ञकर्म करने वाले यजमान की रक्षा कर सकें. तुमने दो तरह से कुत्स ऋषि की रक्षा की थी. उसी प्रकार हमारी भी रक्षा करो. (२५)
EN English Translation
O very spectacular Indra! Give us your shelter, so that we can protect the host who performs the yajnakarma. You had protected the sage Kutsa in two ways. Similarly, protect us too. (25)
तमु॑ त्वा नू॒नमी॑महे॒ नव्यं॑ दंसिष्ठ॒ सन्य॑से । स त्वं नो॒ विश्वा॑ अ॒भिमा॑तीः स॒क्षणिः॑ ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय दर्शनीय एवं स्तुतियोग्य इंद्र! इस समय हम तुमसे धन की याचना करते हैं. तुम हमारे सभी शत्रुओं की सेनाओं को हराने वाले हो. (२६)
EN English Translation
O very visible and praiseworthy Indra! At this time we ask you for money. You are about to defeat the armies of all our enemies. (26)
य ऋक्षा॒दंह॑सो मु॒चद्यो वार्या॑त्स॒प्त सिन्धु॑षु । वध॑र्दा॒सस्य॑ तुविनृम्ण नीनमः ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो राक्षसों से उत्पन्न पाप से छुटकारा दिलाते हैं एवं जो सात नदियों के तट पर रहने वाले यजमानों को धन देते हैं, तुम वही इंद्र हो. हे अतिशय धनी इंद्र! शत्रु राक्षसों के वध के लिए शस्त्र नीचे फेंको. (२७)
EN English Translation
Those who get rid of the sin caused by the demons and who give money to the hosts who live on the banks of the seven rivers, you are the same Indra. O very rich Indra! Throw down weapons for the slaughter of enemy monsters. (27)
यथा॑ वरो सु॒षाम्णे॑ स॒निभ्य॒ आव॑हो र॒यिम् । व्य॑श्वेभ्यः सुभगे वाजिनीवति ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे राजा वरु! तुमने अपने पिता राजा सुषामा के कल्याण के लिए जैसे धन दान किया था, उसी प्रकार हमें, व्यश्च एवं उसके परिवार वालों को धन दो. हे शोभन धन एवं अन्न वाली उषा! तुम भी हमें धन दो. (२८)
EN English Translation
O King Varu! Just as you donated money for the welfare of your father, King Sushama, give money to us, the person and his family. O Usha with wealth and food! You also give us money. (28)
आ ना॒र्यस्य॒ दक्षि॑णा॒ व्य॑श्वाँ एतु सो॒मिनः॑ । स्थू॒रं च॒ राधः॑ श॒तव॑त्स॒हस्र॑वत् ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मानव हितकारी एवं सोमरस वाले यजमान वरू की दक्षिणा व्यश्च एवं उसके पुत्रों को प्राप्त हो. हमारे पास सौ और हजारों की संख्या में स्थूल धन आवे. (२९)
EN English Translation
The south of Varu, the host of man-benevolent and somras, may be received by the person and his sons. We have a hundred and thousands of gross wealth. (29)
यत्त्वा॑ पृ॒च्छादी॑जा॒नः कु॑ह॒या कु॑हयाकृते । ए॒षो अप॑श्रितो व॒लो गो॑म॒तीमव॑ तिष्ठति ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषा! जो लोग तुमसे पूछे कि राजा वरु कहां रहते हैं तो उनसे कहना-सबको आश्रय देने वाले एवं शत्रुओं को रोकने वाले वरु गोमती के किनारे रहते हैं. (३०)
EN English Translation
Oh, Usha! Those who ask you where King Varun lives, tell them, "The varu, who gives shelter to all and stops the enemies, lives on the banks of the Gomti. (30)
