त्वाव॑तः पुरूवसो व॒यमि॑न्द्र प्रणेतः । स्मसि॑ स्थातर्हरीणाम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अधिक धन वाले व यज्ञकर्म के पार ले जाने वाले इंद्र! हम तुम्हारे समान व्यक्ति के आश्रित हैं. तुम हरि नामक घोड़ों के स्वामी हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra, who has more wealth and leads to the journey of yajnakarma! We are dependents of a person like you. You are the master of horses named Hari. (1)
त्वां हि स॒त्यम॑द्रिवो वि॒द्म दा॒तार॑मि॒षाम् । वि॒द्म दा॒तारं॑ रयी॒णाम् ॥ (२)

हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! यह बात सत्य है कि हम तुम्हें अन्नों एवं धनों का दाता जानते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O thunderbolt Indra! It is true that we know you the giver of food and wealth. (2)
आ यस्य॑ ते महि॒मानं॒ शत॑मूते॒ शत॑क्रतो । गी॒र्भिर्गृ॒णन्ति॑ का॒रवः॑ ॥ (३)

हे असंख्य रक्षासाधनों वाले एवं बहुकर्मकर्ता इंद्र! स्तोता तुम्हारी महिमा को स्तुतियों द्वारा गाते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra, who has innumerable defences and many works! The Psalms sing to your glory by hymns. (3)
सु॒नी॒थो घा॒ स मर्त्यो॒ यं म॒रुतो॒ यम॑र्य॒मा । मि॒त्रः पान्त्य॒द्रुहः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वही मनुष्य यज्ञसंपन्न होता है, जिसकी रक्षा द्रोहरहित मरुद्गण, अर्यमा एवं मित्र करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The same man is the yajna-sampan, who is protected by the deserts, the aryans and the friends without hatred. (4)
दधा॑नो॒ गोम॒दश्व॑वत्सु॒वीर्य॑मादि॒त्यजू॑त एधते । सदा॑ रा॒या पु॑रु॒स्पृहा॑ ॥ (५)

आदित्य द्वारा अनुगृहीत यजमान गायों एवं अश्वों से युक्त होकर तथा शोभनवीर्य वाली संतान धारण करता हुआ बहुतों द्वारा अभिलषित धन के साथ बढ़ता है. (५)
EN English Translation
The host adopted by Aditya grows with the money enjoyed by many, consisting of cows and horses and holding a child of adornment. (5)
तमिन्द्रं॒ दान॑मीमहे शवसा॒नमभी॑र्वम् । ईशा॑नं रा॒य ई॑महे ॥ (६)

हम प्रसिद्ध, शक्तिशाली, भीरुतारहित एवं सबके स्वामी इंद्र से देने योग्य धन मांगते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
We ask for money from indra, the famous, the powerful, the unheated and the lord of all. (6)
तस्मि॒न्हि सन्त्यू॒तयो॒ विश्वा॒ अभी॑रवः॒ सचा॑ । तमा व॑हन्तु॒ सप्त॑यः पुरू॒वसुं॒ मदा॑य॒ हर॑यः सु॒तम् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सब जगह जाने वाली, भीरुतारहित एवं सहायक मरुत्सेना इंद्र की है. गतिशील हरि नामक अश्व बहुत धन वाले इंद्र को निचोड़े हुए सोमरस के निकट प्रसन्नता के लिए ले आवे. (७)
EN English Translation
Going everywhere, without awe and helper is of Marutsena Indra. Bring the horse called The Dynamic Hari to the very rich Indra near the squeezed Somras for pleasure. (7)
यस्ते॒ मदो॒ वरे॑ण्यो॒ य इ॑न्द्र वृत्र॒हन्त॑मः । य आ॑द॒दिः स्व१॒॑र्नृभि॒र्यः पृत॑नासु दु॒ष्टरः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारा मद वहन करने योग्य है. जो युद्ध में शत्रुओं का अधिक वध करने वाला है. उसीके द्वारा तुम शत्रुओं से धन छीनते हो. वह मद युद्धों में बड़ी कठिनाई से पार किया जाता है. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Your item is affordable. Who is going to kill more enemies in battle. Through him you take away wealth from enemies. That item is crossed with great difficulty in the wars. (8)
यो दु॒ष्टरो॑ विश्ववार श्र॒वाय्यो॒ वाजे॒ष्वस्ति॑ तरु॒ता । स नः॑ शविष्ठ॒ सव॒ना व॑सो गहि ग॒मेम॒ गोम॑ति व्र॒जे ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सबके वरण करने योग्य, वासस्थान देने वाले एवं अतिशय शक्तिशाली इंद्र! युद्धों में दुःख से तरने योग्य व शत्रुतारक मद के साथ हमारे यज्ञ में आओ. हम गायों वाली गोशाला में जाएंगे. (९)
EN English Translation
O all-chooser, the abode-giver and the most powerful Indra! Come to our yajna with a sad and hostile item in wars. We'll go to the cowshed. (9)
ग॒व्यो षु णो॒ यथा॑ पु॒राश्व॒योत र॑थ॒या । व॒रि॒व॒स्य म॑हामह ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे महाधन वाले इंद्र! हमारे मन में पहले जिस प्रकार गाय, अश्व एवं रथ की अभिलाषा होने पर तुमने उसे पूरा किया था, उसी प्रकार हमें अब भी देना है. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra of the Great Wealth! Just as you fulfilled the desire of the cow, horse and chariot in our minds earlier, we still have to give it. (10)
न॒हि ते॑ शूर॒ राध॒सोऽन्तं॑ वि॒न्दामि॑ स॒त्रा । द॒श॒स्या नो॑ मघव॒न्नू चि॑दद्रिवो॒ धियो॒ वाजे॑भिराविथ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! यह बात सत्य है कि मैं तुम्हारे धन का अंत नहीं जानता हूं. हे धनी एवं वज्र वाले इंद्र! हमें शीघ्र धन दो एवं अन्रों द्वारा हमारे यज्ञकर्मो की रक्षा करो. (११)
EN English Translation
O Indra! It's true that I don't know the end of your wealth. O rich and thunderous Indra! Give us quick money and protect our sacrificial deeds through the inside. (11)
य ऋ॒ष्वः श्रा॑व॒यत्स॑खा॒ विश्वेत्स वे॑द॒ जनि॑मा पुरुष्टु॒तः । तं विश्वे॒ मानु॑षा यु॒गेन्द्रं॑ हवन्ते तवि॒षं य॒तस्रु॑चः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इंद्र दर्शनीय, ऋत्विज् रूपी मित्रों से युक्त, बहुतों द्वारा स्तुत एवं संसार के सभी प्राणियों को जानते हैं, सब लोग हवि हाथ में लेकर उन्हीं शक्तिशाली इंद्र को सदा बुलाते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
Those who have known indra, who are visible, with friends in the form of ritwiz, praised by many and all the beings of the world, all the people take it in their hands and call the same powerful Indra always. (12)
स नो॒ वाजे॑ष्ववि॒ता पु॑रू॒वसुः॑ पुरःस्था॒ता म॒घवा॑ वृत्र॒हा भु॑वत् ॥ (१३)

वे बहुत धन वाले, धनसंपन्न एवं वृत्रहंता इंद्र युद्धों में रक्षा एवं आगे स्थित रहने वाले हों. (१३)
EN English Translation
They are very rich, wealthy and vrithrahanta indra are going to protect and stay ahead in the wars. (13)
अ॒भि वो॑ वी॒रमन्ध॑सो॒ मदे॑षु गाय गि॒रा म॒हा विचे॑तसम् । इन्द्रं॒ नाम॒ श्रुत्यं॑ शा॒किनं॒ वचो॒ यथा॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोताओ! तुमसे जिस छंद में संभव हो, उसी में सोम का नशा हो जाने पर वीर, शत्रुओं को हराने वाले, विशिष्ट बुद्धिसंपन्न, सर्वत्र प्रसिद्ध व शक्तिशाली इंद्र की स्तुति महान् वाक्यों द्वारा करो. (१४)
EN English Translation
This stotao! In the verse in which you are possible, praise the heroic, the one who defeats enemies, the most intelligent, the all-time famous and powerful Indra, with great sentences when you are intoxicated with Soma. (14)
द॒दी रेक्ण॑स्त॒न्वे॑ द॒दिर्वसु॑ द॒दिर्वाजे॑षु पुरुहूत वा॒जिन॑म् । नू॒नमथ॑ ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए गए इंद्र! तुम इसी समय मेरे शरीर को बल देने वाले बनो. तुम युद्धों में अन्नयुक्त धन दो तथा हमारे पुत्र आदि को धन दो. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Indra called by many! Be the one who strengthens my body at this time. You give riches in food in wars and give money to our sons, etc. (15)
विश्वे॑षामिर॒ज्यन्तं॒ वसू॑नां सास॒ह्वांसं॑ चिद॒स्य वर्प॑सः । कृ॒प॒य॒तो नू॒नमत्यथ॑ ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
समस्त संपत्तियों के स्वामी, शत्रुओं को रोकने वाले, युद्ध में शत्रु को कंपित करने वाले एवं हराने वाले इंद्र की स्तुति करो. इंद्र शीघ्र धन देंगे. (१६)
EN English Translation
Praise Indra, the master of all possessions, the one who stopped the enemies, the one who shook the enemy in battle and defeated him. Indra will give quick money. (16)
म॒हः सु वो॒ अर॑मिषे॒ स्तवा॑महे मी॒ळ्हुषे॑ अरंग॒माय॒ जग्म॑ये । य॒ज्ञेभि॑र्गी॒र्भिर्वि॒श्वम॑नुषां म॒रुता॑मियक्षसि॒ गाये॑ त्वा॒ नम॑सा गि॒रा ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे महान्, अभिलाषापूरक, सर्वत्र गमनशील, तीव्र गति वाले इंद्र! मैं तुम्हारे आने की इच्छा करता हूं. हे मरुतों के नेता एवं सब प्राणियों के स्वामी इंद्र! हम यज्ञों, स्तुतियों एवं नमस्कारों द्वारा तुम्हारे गुण गाते हैं. (१७)
EN English Translation
O great, full of desire, omnipotent, fast-paced Indra! I wish you to come. O Indra, the leader of the maruts and the lord of all beings! We sing your virtues through yajnas, hymns and salutations. (17)
ये पा॒तय॑न्ते॒ अज्म॑भिर्गिरी॒णां स्नुभि॑रेषाम् । य॒ज्ञं म॑हि॒ष्वणी॑नां सु॒म्नं तु॑वि॒ष्वणी॑नां॒ प्राध्व॒रे ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो मरुद्गण बादलों के बहने वाले एवं शक्तिकारक जलों के साथ गिरते हैं, उन्हीं महान् ध्वनि वाले मरुतों के निमित्त हम यज्ञ करेंगे एवं उनके द्वारा दिया हुआ सुख पावेंगे. (१८)
EN English Translation
The deserts who fall with the flowing and powerful waters of the clouds, we will perform yajna for the same great-sounding maruts and get the happiness given by them. (18)
प्र॒भ॒ङ्गं दु॑र्मती॒नामिन्द्र॑ शवि॒ष्ठा भ॑र । र॒यिम॒स्मभ्यं॒ युज्यं॑ चोदयन्मते॒ ज्येष्ठं॑ चोदयन्मते ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम दुष्ट बुद्धि वालों को नष्ट करने वाले हो. हम तुमसे याचना करते हैं. हे अतिशय शक्तिशाली इंद्र! हमारे लिए उचित धन हमें दो. हे धन प्रेरित करने वाली बुद्धि से युक्त इंद्र देव! हमें उत्तम धन दो. (१९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are the destroyers of evil intellects. We beg of you. O very powerful Indra! Give us the proper money for us. O Indra Dev with the wisdom that inspires wealth! Give us the best money. (19)
सनि॑तः॒ सुस॑नित॒रुग्र॒ चित्र॒ चेति॑ष्ठ॒ सूनृ॑त । प्रा॒सहा॑ सम्रा॒ट् सहु॑रिं॒ सह॑न्तं भु॒ज्युं वाजे॑षु॒ पूर्व्य॑म् ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दाता, उग्र, विचित्र, अतिशय-ज्ञानी, शोभन-सत्ययुक्त, शत्रुओं को हराने वाले एवं सबके स्वामी इंद्र! तुम शत्रु को हराने वाला, सहनशील, भोग योग्य तथा स्थायी धन हमें संग्राम में दो. (२०)
EN English Translation
O giver, furious, strange, very wise, glorious, truthful, defeating enemies and lord of all, Indra! You defeating the enemy, give us tolerant, enjoyable and lasting wealth in the battle. (20)
आ स ए॑तु॒ य ईव॒दाँ अदे॑वः पू॒र्तमा॑द॒दे । यथा॑ चि॒द्वशो॑ अ॒श्व्यः पृ॑थु॒श्रव॑सि कानी॒ते॒३॒॑ऽस्या व्युष्या॑द॒दे ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे अश्व के पुत्र वश यहां आवें, जो देव नहीं हैं एवं जिन्होंने कन्या के पुत्र पृथुश्रवा से धन प्राप्त किया था. (२१)
EN English Translation
They came here under the son of the horse, who is not a god and who had received wealth from Prithushrava, the son of the girl child. (21)
ष॒ष्टिं स॒हस्राश्व्य॑स्या॒युता॑सन॒मुष्ट्रा॑नां विंश॒तिं श॒ता । दश॒ श्यावी॑नां श॒ता दश॒ त्र्य॑रुषीणां॒ दश॒ गवां॑ स॒हस्रा॑ ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वश ने कहा-“मैंने अश्वपुत्र पृथुश्रवा से साठ हजार एवं दस हजार घोड़े, बीस सौ ऊंट, काले रंग की दस घोड़ियां एवं तीन जगहों पर भूरे रंग वाली दस हजार गाएं पाई हैं. (२२)
EN English Translation
"I have received sixty thousand and ten thousand horses, twenty hundred camels, ten black horses and ten thousand brown cows at three places from The Ashwaputra Prithushrawa. (22)
दश॑ श्या॒वा ऋ॒धद्र॑यो वी॒तवा॑रास आ॒शवः॑ । म॒थ्रा ने॒मिं नि वा॑वृतुः ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शत्रु को मारने वाले, अधिक वेग वाले व अति शक्तिशाली दस हजार काले रंग के घोड़े रथ का पहिया आगे खींचते हैं. (२३)
EN English Translation
The 10,000 black horses that kill the enemy, the high-speed and the most powerful, pull the wheel of the chariot forward. (23)
दाना॑सः पृथु॒श्रव॑सः कानी॒तस्य॑ सु॒राध॑सः । रथं॑ हिर॒ण्ययं॒ दद॒न्मंहि॑ष्ठः सू॒रिर॑भू॒द्वर्षि॑ष्ठमकृत॒ श्रवः॑ ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शोभन धन वाले, कन्यापुत्र पृथुश्रवा का दान यही है. उन्होंने सोने का रथ दिया है, अतिशय दाता एवं सबके प्रेरक पृथुश्रवा ने अधिक बढ़ी हुई कीतिं प्राप्त की है. (२४)
EN English Translation
This is the donation of The Son of The Son of Shobhan Dhan, The Daughter of Prithushrava. He has given a chariot of gold, the most powerful and inspiring of all, Prithushrava has achieved a much increased keeti. (24)
आ नो॑ वायो म॒हे तने॑ या॒हि म॒खाय॒ पाज॑से । व॒यं हि ते॑ चकृ॒मा भूरि॑ दा॒वने॑ स॒द्यश्चि॒न्महि॑ दा॒वने॑ ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वायु! तुम महान् धन एवं पूज्य बल देने के लिए हमारे पास आओ. हम अधिक धन देने वाले तुम्हारी स्तुति उसी समय करते हैं. (२५)
EN English Translation
O air! You come to us to give great wealth and godly strength. We praise you for giving more money at the same time. (25)
यो अश्वे॑भि॒र्वह॑ते॒ वस्त॑ उ॒स्रास्त्रिः स॒प्त स॑प्तती॒नाम् । ए॒भिः सोमे॑भिः सोम॒सुद्भिः॑ सोमपा दा॒नाय॑ शुक्रपूतपाः ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोमरस पीने वाले एवं दीप्ति तथा पवित्र सोमरस पीने वाले वायु! अश्चों द्वारा चलने वाले, गृह में निवास करने वाले एवं चौदह सौ सत्तर गायों के साथ चलने वाले पृथुश्रवा तुम्हें सोमरस देने के लिए ही सोमरस निचोड़ने वालों के साथ मिले हैं. (२६)
EN English Translation
O you who drink somers and drink the light, and the air who drink the holy somras! The prithushravas who walk by the assh, dwell in the house and walk with fourteen hundred and seventy cows have met with those who squeeze the somras only to give you somras. (26)
यो म॑ इ॒मं चि॑दु॒ त्मनाम॑न्दच्चि॒त्रं दा॒वने॑ । अ॒र॒ट्वे अक्षे॒ नहु॑षे सु॒कृत्व॑नि सु॒कृत्त॑राय सु॒क्रतुः॑ ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो पृथुश्रवा दान की वस्तुओं-गायों, घोड़ों आदि के विषय में सोचकर मन ही मन प्रसन्न हुए थे, उन शोभन कर्म वाले ने अपने राज्य के अध्यक्षों-अष्टव, अक्ष, नहुष एवं सुकृत्य को उत्तम कर्म करने की आज्ञा दी. (२७)
EN English Translation
Those who were happy to think of the objects of the prithushrava daan - cows, horses, etc., the gentleman's karma wala ordered the presidents of his kingdom - Ashtava, Aksha, Nahush and Sukritya - to do good deeds. (27)
उ॒च॒थ्ये॒३॒॑ वपु॑षि॒ यः स्व॒राळु॒त वा॑यो घृत॒स्नाः । अश्वे॑षितं॒ रजे॑षितं॒ शुने॑षितं॒ प्राज्म॒ तदि॒दं नु तत् ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वायु! जो पृथुश्रवा उचथ्य एवं वयु नामक राजाओं से भी अधिक सुशोभित हैं एवं घृत के समान शुद्ध हैं, उन्होंने घोड़ों, गधों और कुत्तों पर लादकर जो अन्न भेजा है, वह यही है, यह सब तुम्हारी कृपा है. (२८)
EN English Translation
O air! The people who are adorned more than the kings of Prithushrava Uchastha and Vayu and are as pure as disgusting, the food they have sent by loading them on horses, donkeys and dogs, this is your grace. (28)
अध॑ प्रि॒यमि॑षि॒राय॑ ष॒ष्टिं स॒हस्रा॑सनम् । अश्वा॑ना॒मिन्न वृष्णा॑म् ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस समय धन आदि का दान करने वाले राजा पृथुश्रवा की कृपा से मैंने घोड़ों के समान अभिलाषापूरक साठ हजार गायों को पाया. (२९)
EN English Translation
At this time, by the grace of King Prithushrava, who donated money, etc., I found sixty thousand cows as horses. (29)
गावो॒ न यू॒थमुप॑ यन्ति॒ वध्र॑य॒ उप॒ मा य॑न्ति॒ वध्र॑यः ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
गाएं जिस प्रकार अपने झुंड में जाती हैं, उसी प्रकार पृथुश्रवा द्वारा दिए हुए बधिया बैल मेरे पास आते हैं. (३०)
EN English Translation
Just as the cows go in their flock, so the badhiya bulls given by Prithushrava come to me. (30)
