अश्वा॑वति प्रथ॒मो गोषु॑ गच्छति सुप्रा॒वीरि॑न्द्र॒ मर्त्य॒स्तवो॒तिभिः॑ । तमित्पृ॑णक्षि॒ वसु॑ना॒ भवी॑यसा॒ सिन्धु॒मापो॒ यथा॒भितो॒ विचे॑तसः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जो पुरुष तुम्हारे द्वारा रक्षित होता है, वह बहुसंख्यक अश्चों वाले युद्धों में तथा अश्वारोहियों में प्रमुख बन जाता है. वह गायों वाले पुरुषों में भी श्रेष्ठ होता है. जिस प्रकार जल सब ओर से सागर को भरते हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम भी उसे अनेक प्रकार से प्राप्त होने वाले धन से पूर्ण करते हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The man who is protected by you becomes prominent in wars with majority horses and in equestrians. He is also superior to men with cows. Just as water fills the ocean from all sides, so you also complete it with the wealth you receive in many ways. (1)
आपो॒ न दे॒वीरुप॑ यन्ति हो॒त्रिय॑म॒व प॑श्यन्ति॒ वित॑तं॒ यथा॒ रजः॑ । प्रा॒चैर्दे॒वासः॒ प्र ण॑यन्ति देव॒युं ब्र॑ह्म॒प्रियं॑ जोषयन्ते व॒रा इ॑व ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार जल नीचे की ओर बहता हुआ सागर में जाता है, उसी प्रकार स्तुतियां तुम से जा कर मिल जाती हैं. जिस प्रकार मनुष्य सूर्य के प्रकाश की चकाचौंध के कारण नीचे की ओर देखने लगते हैं, उसी प्रकार लोग तुम्हारे तेज से दृष्टियां बचाते हैं. जिस प्रकार स्तोता तुम्हें यज्ञ वेदी के सामने बुला लेते हैं, उसी प्रकार ऋत्विज् तुम्हारी सेवा करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as water flows down into the ocean, so praise comes from you. Just as humans start looking downwards due to the glare of sunlight, so people save their visions from your brightness. Just as the stots call you in front of the yagna altar, so the Ritwijas serve you. (2)
अधि॒ द्वयो॑रदधा उ॒क्थ्यं वचो॑ य॒तस्रु॑चा मिथु॒ना या स॑प॒र्यतः॑ । असं॑यत्तो व्र॒ते ते॑ क्षेति॒ पुष्य॑ति भ॒द्रा श॒क्तिर्यज॑मानाय सुन्व॒ते ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो यज्ञ साधन पात्र रखे हैं, ऋत्विज् उन पात्रों के द्वारा इंद्र आदि का पूजन करते हैं. उन पात्रों पर स्तुति के योग्य उक्थ स्थापित किया गया है. हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे निमित्त यज्ञ करने वाला यजमान संतान, पशु आदि से संपन्न हो तथा कल्याणमयी शक्ति को प्राप्त करे. (३)
EN English Translation
The yajna instruments that are kept, the Ritvij worships Indra etc. through those characters. Praiseworthy of praise has been installed on those characters. O Indra! The host performing yajna for you should be endowed with children, animals etc. and get the welfare power. (3)
आदङ्गि॑राः प्रथ॒मं द॑धिरे॒ वय॑ इ॒द्धाग्न॑यः॒ शम्या॒ ये सु॑कृ॒त्यया॑ । सर्वं॑ प॒णेः सम॑विन्दन्त॒ भोज॑न॒मश्वा॑वन्तं॒ गोम॑न्त॒मा प॒शुं नरः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जब पणियों ने गायों का अपहरण कर लिया, तब अंगिरागोत्री ऋषियों ने सब से पहले तुम्हारे निमित्त ही हवि अन्न का संपादन किया. हमें जो भीषण भय प्राप्त है, उसे इंद्र हम से दूर करते हैं. वे इंद्र सदैव अपने उत्तम कर्मो से आहवनीय अग्नि को प्रदीप्त करते हैं. देवों के नेता इंद्र ने पणियों से छीना हुआ धन गी, अश्व, भेड़, बकरी आदि से प्राप्त किया था. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When the Panis kidnapped the cows, the Angiragotri sages first edited the food for you. Indra removes the terrible fear we have from us. That Indra always illuminates the agni of the call with his best deeds. Indra, the leader of the devas, had received the money snatched from the panis from gi, horse, sheep, goat etc. (4)
य॒ज्ञैरथ॑र्वा प्रथ॒मः प॒थस्त॑ते॒ ततः॒ सूर्यो॑ व्रत॒पा वे॒न आज॑नि । आ गा आ॑जदु॒शना॑ का॒व्यः सचा॑ य॒मस्य॑ जा॒तम॒मृतं॑ यजामहे ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र के लिए यज्ञ करने वाले अथर्वा ऋषि ने पणियों द्वारा चुराई हुई गायों को छिपा कर रखने के स्थान का मार्ग पहले ही जान लिया था. जब सूर्योदय हो गया, तब कवि के पुत्र उशना ने इंद्र की सहायता से उन गायों को प्राप्त किया था. हम अविनाशी इंद्र का पूजन करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Atharva Rishi, who performed the yagna for Indra, had already known the route to the place of hiding the cows stolen by the panis. When the sunrise happened, the poet's son Ushna had received those cows with the help of Indra. We worship the imperishable Indra. (5)
ब॒र्हिर्वा॒ यत्स्व॑प॒त्याय॑ वृ॒ज्यते॒ऽर्को वा॒ श्लोक॑मा॒घोष॑ते दि॒वि । ग्रावा॒ यत्र॒ वद॑ति का॒रुरु॒क्थ्यस्तस्येदिन्द्रो॑ अभिपि॒त्वेषु॑ रण्यति ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सुंदर संतान रूप फल को पाने के लिए यज्ञ में कुशाएं बिछाई जाती हैं. वाणी के रूप में यज्ञ के जिस स्तोत्र का उच्चारण किया जाता है तथा जिस यज्ञ में सोम को कूटने वाला पत्थर स्तोता के समान शब्द करता है, वहां इंद्र विराजमान होते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Kushas are laid in the yajna to get the fruits of beautiful children. In the form of speech, the stotra of yajna is pronounced and in the yajna in which the stone crushing Soma makes the same words as the stota, Indra is seated there. (6)
प्रोग्रां पी॒तिं वृष्ण॑ इयर्मि स॒त्यां प्र॒यै सु॒तस्य॑ हर्यश्व॒ तुभ्य॑म् । इन्द्र॒ धेना॑भिरि॒ह मा॑दयस्व धी॒भिर्विश्वा॑भिः॒ शच्या॑ गृणा॒नः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम हरि नाम के अश्वो द्वारा श्रेष्ठ गमन करने वाले तथा कामनाओं के वर्षक हो. मैं तुम्हें सोमरस पीने को प्रेरित करता हूं. तुम स्तुतियां सुन कर हमारे यज्ञ में प्रसन्न बनो. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are the one who makes the best movement through the horse named Hari and the year of desires. I encourage you to drink somers. Listen to the praises and be happy in our sacrifice. (7)
