के ष्ठा॑ नरः॒ श्रेष्ठ॑तमा॒ य एक॑एक आय॒य । प॒र॒मस्याः॑ परा॒वतः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सर्वोत्तम नेताओ! तुम कौन हो? तुम दूरवर्ती आकाश से एक-एक करके आते हो. (१)
EN English Translation
Oh, the best leaders! Who are you? You come one by one from the distant sky. (1)
क्व१॒॑ वोऽश्वाः॒ क्वा॒३॒॑भीश॑वः क॒थं शे॑क क॒था य॑य । पृ॒ष्ठे सदो॑ न॒सोर्यमः॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम्हारे घोड़े और उनकी लगाम कहां है? तुम शीघ्र कैसे चल पाते हो एवं तुम्हारी गति कैसी है? तुम्हारे घोड़ों की पीठ पर जीन एवं दोनों नथनों में लगाम दिखाई देती है. (२)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Where are your horses and their reins? How do you get going quickly and how is your speed? On the backs of your horses, jean and the reins in both nostrils are seen. (2)
ज॒घने॒ चोद॑ एषां॒ वि स॒क्थानि॒ नरो॑ यमुः । पु॒त्र॒कृ॒थे न जन॑यः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम्हारे घोड़ों की जंघाओं पर कोड़े लगते हैं. हे नेताओ! नारियां पुत्र को जन्म देने के लिए जिस प्रकार जांघें फैलाती हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम घोड़ों को जांघें फैलाने पर विवश करते हो. (३)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Your horses seem to be flogged on their thighs. Hey leaders! Just as women spread their thighs to give birth to a son, so you force horses to spread their thighs. (3)
परा॑ वीरास एतन॒ मर्या॑सो॒ भद्र॑जानयः । अ॒ग्नि॒तपो॒ यथास॑थ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वीर! मानव हितकारी एवं शोभन जन्म वाले मरुतो! तुम्हारा रंग तपे हुए अग्नि के समान है. (४)
EN English Translation
Oh, brave! Human-benevolent and blessed marutos ! Your color is like a glowing agni. (4)
सन॒त्साश्व्यं॑ प॒शुमु॒त गव्यं॑ श॒ताव॑यम् । श्या॒वाश्व॑स्तुताय॒ या दोर्वी॒रायो॑प॒बर्बृ॑हत् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस रानी शशीयसी ने मुझ श्यावाश्च द्वारा स्तुत राजा तरंत को दोनों भुजाओं में भर लिया था, वही मुझे घोड़ा, गाय एवं मेषों के रूप में सैकड़ों प्रकार का पशु धन दे. (५)
EN English Translation
The Queen Shashiyasi, who had filled king Taranta, praised by me in both arms, gave me hundreds of kinds of animal wealth in the form of horses, cows and aries. (5)
उ॒त त्वा॒ स्त्री शशी॑यसी पुं॒सो भ॑वति॒ वस्य॑सी । अदे॑वत्रादरा॒धसः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देवों की स्तुति न करने वाले तथा धनदान न करने वाले पुरुष से स्त्री शशीयसी बहुत महान् है. (६)
EN English Translation
The woman is a great man from a man who does not praise the gods and does not give riches. (6)
वि या जा॒नाति॒ जसु॑रिं॒ वि तृष्य॑न्तं॒ वि का॒मिन॑म् । दे॒व॒त्रा कृ॑णु॒ते मनः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो शशीयसी व्यथित, प्यासे एवं धनाभिलाषी को जानती है, वह अपने मन में देवों की प्रसन्नता के लिए दान का विचार करती है. (७)
EN English Translation
The shashisi who knows the distressed, the thirsty and the rich, thinks of charity in her mind for the happiness of the gods. (7)
उ॒त घा॒ नेमो॒ अस्तु॑तः॒ पुमा॒ँ इति॑ ब्रुवे प॒णिः । स वैर॑देय॒ इत्स॒मः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तुति करने वाला मैं कहता हूं कि शशीयसी के प्रति तरंत की उचित प्रशंसा नहीं हुई. वे देवों के उद्देश्य से दान करने में सदा समान हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
The praise-giver, I say, was not properly praised for The Shashiyasi. They are always the same in donating for the purpose of the gods. (8)
उ॒त मे॑ऽरपद्युव॒तिर्म॑म॒न्दुषी॒ प्रति॑ श्या॒वाय॑ वर्त॒निम् । वि रोहि॑ता पुरुमी॒ळ्हाय॑ येमतु॒र्विप्रा॑य दी॒र्घय॑शसे ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्राप्तयौवना एवं प्रसन्नचित्त शशीयसी ने मुझ श्यावाश्व को मार्ग बताया. उसके दिए हुए लाल रंग के घोड़े मुझे परम यशस्वी एवं मेधावी पुरुमीढ के पास ले गए. (९)
EN English Translation
The happy and cheerful shashyasi told me the way to her. The red horses he gave me took me to the most successful and meritorious purumidh. (9)
यो मे॑ धेनू॒नां श॒तं वैद॑दश्वि॒र्यथा॒ दद॑त् । त॒र॒न्त इ॑व मं॒हना॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विददश्च के पुत्र पुरुमीढ ने भी तुरंत राजा के समान ही हमें सौ गाएं एवं अन्य बहुत सी संपत्तियां दी हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
Purumiddha, the son of Viddesh, has immediately given us a hundred cows and many other properties, just like the king. (10)
य ईं॒ वह॑न्त आ॒शुभिः॒ पिब॑न्तो मदि॒रं मधु॑ । अत्र॒ श्रवां॑सि दधिरे ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो मरुद्गण तेज घोड़ों द्वारा लाए गए थे, वे मदकारक सोमरस पीते हुए यहां भांति- भांति की स्तुतियां सुनते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
The deserters who were brought by fast horses listen to a variety of praises here while drinking the madman somras. (11)
येषां॑ श्रि॒याधि॒ रोद॑सी वि॒भ्राज॑न्ते॒ रथे॒ष्वा । दि॒वि रु॒क्म इ॑वो॒परि॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन मरुतों की शोभा से धरती और आकाश चमक उठते हैं, वे रथों पर इस प्रकार बैठते हैं, जैसे स्वर्ग में सूर्य विराजता है. (१२)
EN English Translation
The maruts whose splendor makes the earth and the sky shine sit on chariots as the sun shines in heaven. (12)
युवा॒ स मारु॑तो ग॒णस्त्वे॒षर॑थो॒ अने॑द्यः । शु॒भं॒यावाप्र॑तिष्कुतः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे मरुद्गण युवक, तेजस्वी रथ वाले, निंदारहित, शोभनगति वाले एवं बाधाहीन गति वाले हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
They are desert youth, with stunning chariots, without condemnation, with awe-inspiring and unhindered speed. (13)
को वे॑द नू॒नमे॑षां॒ यत्रा॒ मद॑न्ति॒ धूत॑यः । ऋ॒तजा॑ता अरे॒पसः॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुतों के उस स्थान को कौन जानता है, जहां शत्रुओं को भय से कंपित करने वाले यज्ञ के निमित्त उत्पन्न एवं पापरहित मरुत् प्रसन्न होते हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
Who knows the place of the maruts, where those who tremble with fear to the enemies are pleased with the deserts born and sinless for the sake of the yajna? (14)
यू॒यं मर्तं॑ विपन्यवः प्रणे॒तार॑ इ॒त्था धि॒या । श्रोता॑रो॒ याम॑हूतिषु ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तुति की अभिलाषा करने वाले मरुतो! तुम यजमानों की स्तुति सुनकर उन्हें स्वर्ग प्रदान करते हो एवं यज्ञों में उनका आह्वान सुनते हो. (१५)
EN English Translation
Maruto who craves praise! You hear the praises of the hosts and give them heaven and hear their call in the yagnas. (15)
ते नो॒ वसू॑नि॒ काम्या॑ पुरुश्च॒न्द्रा रि॑शादसः । आ य॑ज्ञियासो ववृत्तन ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुनाशक, यज्ञ के पात्र एवं प्रमुदितकारक धन वाले मरुतो! तुम लोगों को मनचाहा धन दो. (१६)
EN English Translation
O enemies, the characters of yajna and the rich riches of the beloved, the marutos! Give you people the money you want. (16)
ए॒तं मे॒ स्तोम॑मूर्म्ये दा॒र्भ्याय॒ परा॑ वह । गिरो॑ देवि र॒थीरि॑व ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे रात्रिदेवी! तुम मेरी इस स्तुति को मेरे पास से रथवीति के पास ले जाओ. रथस्वामी जिस प्रकार रथ पर सामान ले जाता है, उसी प्रकार तुम इन्हें पहुंचाओ. (१७)
EN English Translation
O goddess of the night! You take this praise of Mine from me to rathveeti. Just as the chariot owner carries the goods on the chariot, so you deliver them. (17)
उ॒त मे॑ वोचता॒दिति॑ सु॒तसो॑मे॒ रथ॑वीतौ । न कामो॒ अप॑ वेति मे ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे रात्रिदेवी! सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले रथवीति से तुम यह कहना कि उसकी पुत्री के प्रति मुझ श्यावाश्व का लगाव कम नहीं हुआ है. (१८)
EN English Translation
O goddess of the night! You should say to the charioteer who squeezes somers that my love for his daughter has not diminished. (18)
ए॒ष क्षे॑ति॒ रथ॑वीतिर्म॒घवा॒ गोम॑ती॒रनु॑ । पर्व॑ते॒ष्वप॑श्रितः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वह धनवान् रथवीति गोमती के किनारे रहता है. उसका घर हिमालय के समीप है. (१९)
EN English Translation
He lives on the banks of Dhanvan rathaviti Gomti. His house is near the Himalayas. (19)
