इ॒ममू॒ षु वो॒ अति॑थिमुष॒र्बुधं॒ विश्वा॑सां वि॒शां पति॑मृञ्जसे गि॒रा । वेतीद्दि॒वो ज॒नुषा॒ कच्चि॒दा शुचि॒र्ज्योक्चि॑दत्ति॒ गर्भो॒ यदच्यु॑तम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे भरद्वाज! तुम प्रातःकाल जागने वाले, प्रजाओं के रक्षक, सदा गतिशील एवं स्वतः पवित्र अग्नि को स्तुतियों द्वारा भली-भांति प्रसन्न करो. अग्नि सदा द्युलोक से यज्ञ में आते हैं एवं दोषरहित हव्य को खाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O Lord! May you please the one who wakes up in the morning, the protector of the people, the ever-moving and self-sufficient holy agni with praises. Agni always comes to the yajna from Dyulok and eats the faultless havya. (1)
मि॒त्रं न यं सुधि॑तं॒ भृग॑वो द॒धुर्वन॒स्पता॒वीड्य॑मू॒र्ध्वशो॑चिषम् । स त्वं सुप्री॑तो वी॒तह॑व्ये अद्भुत॒ प्रश॑स्तिभिर्महयसे दि॒वेदि॑वे ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अरणिरूप काष्ठ में सुरक्षित, स्तुतियोग्य, ऊर्ध्वगामी ज्वालाओं वाले एवं विचित्र अग्नि! भृगु ने तुम्हें मित्र के समान अपने घर में स्थापित किया. उत्तम स्तुतियों द्वारा प्रतिदिन पूजा करने वाले भरद्वाज के प्रति तुम भली प्रकार प्रसन्न बनो. (२)
EN English Translation
O safe, praiseworthy, upwelling flames and strange agni in the form of a forest wood! Bhrigu installed you in his house like a friend. Be well pleased with the bharadwaj who worships every day with the best of praises. (2)
स त्वं दक्ष॑स्यावृ॒को वृ॒धो भू॑र॒र्यः पर॒स्यान्त॑रस्य॒ तरु॑षः । रा॒यः सू॑नो सहसो॒ मर्त्ये॒ष्वा छ॒र्दिर्य॑च्छ वी॒तह॑व्याय स॒प्रथो॑ भ॒रद्वा॑जाय स॒प्रथः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बाधकरहित अग्नि! तुम यज्ञकर्ता यजमान को बढ़ाने वाले तथा दूरवर्ती एवं समीपवर्ती शत्रु से रक्षा करने वाले हो. हे बलपुत्र अग्नि! तुम सर्वथा बढ़कर मनुष्यों में भरद्वाज को धन एवं गृह दो. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni without hindrance! You are the ones who raise the sacrificial host and protect against the distant and near enemy. O son of strength, agni! You have to go on a whole and give wealth and house to the riches in human beings. (3)
द्यु॒ता॒नं वो॒ अति॑थिं॒ स्व॑र्णरम॒ग्निं होता॑रं॒ मनु॑षः स्वध्व॒रम् । विप्रं॒ न द्यु॒क्षव॑चसं सुवृ॒क्तिभि॑र्हव्य॒वाह॑मर॒तिं दे॒वमृ॑ञ्जसे ॥ (४)

हे भरद्वाज! तुम हव्य वहन करने वाले, दीप्तिसंपन्न, अपने अतिथि, स्वर्ग के नेता, मनु के यज्ञ में देवों को बुलाने वाले, शोभनयज्ञ वाले, मेधावी, तेजपूर्णवाणी वाले एवं सबके स्वामी अग्नि देव को उत्तम स्तुतियों से प्रसन्न करो. (४)
EN English Translation
O bharadwaj! Please the god of agni with the best of praises, the one who bears the lamps, the brightest, your guest, the leader of heaven, the leader of the heavens, the one who calls the gods in manu's yajna, the adornment, the bright, the bright-hearted and the lord of all. (4)
पा॒व॒कया॒ यश्चि॒तय॑न्त्या कृ॒पा क्षाम॑न्रुरु॒च उ॒षसो॒ न भा॒नुना॑ । तूर्व॒न्न याम॒न्नेत॑शस्य॒ नू रण॒ आ यो घृ॒णे न त॑तृषा॒णो अ॒जरः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो अग्नि उषा के प्रकाश के समान पावक एवं ज्ञान कराने वाली दीप्ति से धरती पर विराजमान होते हैं एवं सूर्य के विरुद्ध संग्राम में एतश ऋषि की रक्षा जिन्होंने शत्रुहिंसक वीर के समान की थी, हे भरद्वाज! ऐसे सर्वभक्षक तथा सदायुवा अग्नि को तुम प्रसन्न करो. (५)
EN English Translation
Those who sit on the earth with the glow of light and knowledge like the light of the agni usha, and in the struggle against the sun, the sage who protected the sage who was like a brave enemy, O Bharadwaj! Please such an all-eater and ever-inspiring agni. (5)
अ॒ग्निम॑ग्निं वः स॒मिधा॑ दुवस्यत प्रि॒यम्प्रि॑यं वो॒ अति॑थिं गृणी॒षणि॑ । उप॑ वो गी॒र्भिर॒मृतं॑ विवासत दे॒वो दे॒वेषु॒ वन॑ते॒ हि वार्यं॑ दे॒वो दे॒वेषु॒ वन॑ते॒ हि नो॒ दुवः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोताओ! तुम अतिशय तेजस्वी, अतिथि के समान पूज्य एवं स्तुतियोग्य अग्नि का अग्नि के ही समान समिधाओं से स्वागत करो तथा मरणरहित अग्नि देव के समीप जाकर सेवा करो. वे समिधाएं एवं हमारी सेवा स्वीकार कर लेते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
This stotao! Welcome the most glorious, the guest-like, revered and praiseworthy agni with the same committees as agni, and go to the god of agni without death and serve. They accept committees and our service. (6)
समि॑द्धम॒ग्निं स॒मिधा॑ गि॒रा गृ॑णे॒ शुचिं॑ पाव॒कं पु॒रो अ॑ध्व॒रे ध्रु॒वम् । विप्रं॒ होता॑रं पुरु॒वार॑म॒द्रुहं॑ क॒विं सु॒म्नैरी॑महे जा॒तवे॑दसम् ॥ (७)

हम समिधाओं द्वारा प्रदीप्त अग्नि की स्तुतियों द्वारा प्रशंसा करते हैं, सबको पवित्र करने वाले एवं ध्रुव अग्नि को हम अपने यज्ञ में धारण करते हैं तथा मेधावी देवों को बुलाने वाले, अनेक जनों द्वारा वरण करने योग्य, सबके अनुकूल क्रांतदर्शी एवं सब प्राणियों को जानने वाले अग्नि की सुखकर स्तुतियों द्वारा सेवा करते है. (७)
EN English Translation
We praise the illuminated agni by the samidahas through praises, the one who sanctifies all and the pole agni we hold in our yajna, and the ones who call the meritorious gods, are elected by many, the revolutionaries who are friendly to all, and those who know all beings serve the agni with pleasant praises. (7)
त्वां दू॒तम॑ग्ने अ॒मृतं॑ यु॒गेयु॑गे हव्य॒वाहं॑ दधिरे पा॒युमीड्य॑म् । दे॒वास॑श्च॒ मर्ता॑सश्च॒ जागृ॑विं वि॒भुं वि॒श्पतिं॒ नम॑सा॒ नि षे॑दिरे ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरणरहित, प्रत्येक काल में हव्यवहन करने वाले, पालक एवं स्तुतियोग्य अग्नि! देवों एवं मानवों ने तुम्हें दूत बनाया था. उन्होंने जागरणशील व्याप्त एवं प्रजापालक अग्नि को नमस्कार द्वारा यज्ञ में स्थापित किया था. (८)
EN English Translation
O deathless, in every time the one who is jealous, the guardian and the praiseworthy agni! The gods and the human beings made you messengers. He had installed the awakening praddha and the prajapalak agni in the yagna by namaskar. (8)
वि॒भूष॑न्नग्न उ॒भया॒ँ अनु॑ व्र॒ता दू॒तो दे॒वानां॒ रज॑सी॒ समी॑यसे । यत्ते॑ धी॒तिं सु॑म॒तिमा॑वृणी॒महेऽध॑ स्मा नस्त्रि॒वरू॑थः शि॒वो भ॑व ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम देवों और मानवों को अलंकृत करते हुए एवं यज्ञकमों में देवों के दूत बनते हुए धरती-आकाश में विचरण करते हो. हम यज्ञकर्मो एवं शोभन स्तुतियों से तुम्हारी सेवा करते हैं, इसलिए तुम तीनों लोकों में रहकर हमें सुख दो. (९)
EN English Translation
O agni! You wander through the earth and the heavens, adorning the gods and human beings and becoming the messengers of the gods in the yagnakamas. We serve you with yajnakarmas and adornment hymns, so may you be in the three realms and give us happiness. (9)
तं सु॒प्रती॑कं सु॒दृशं॒ स्वञ्च॒मवि॑द्वांसो वि॒दुष्ट॑रं सपेम । स य॑क्ष॒द्विश्वा॑ व॒युना॑नि वि॒द्वान्प्र ह॒व्यम॒ग्निर॒मृते॑षु वोचत् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम अल्प बुद्धि वाले लोग तुझ अतिशय विद्वान्, शोभन अंग वाले, देखने में सुंदर एवं उत्तम गति वाले अग्नि की सेवा करते हैं. सबको जानने वाले अग्नि अमर देवों को हमारा हव्य बतावें एवं देवों का यजन करें. (१०)
EN English Translation
We, those with little intelligence, serve you with a very learned, a beautiful and good-paced agni to see, with a beautiful and good spirit. Let the agni who know everyone tell our greetings to the immortal gods and worship the gods. (10)
तम॑ग्ने पास्यु॒त तं पि॑पर्षि॒ यस्त॒ आन॑ट् क॒वये॑ शूर धी॒तिम् । य॒ज्ञस्य॑ वा॒ निशि॑तिं॒ वोदि॑तिं वा॒ तमित्पृ॑णक्षि॒ शव॑सो॒त रा॒या ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर एवं क्रांतदर्शी अग्नि! तुम उस व्यक्ति की रक्षा करते हो एवं अभिलाषाएं पूर्ण करते हो, जो तुम्हारी स्तुति करता है. जो यज्ञसाधन हव्य का संस्कार करता है अथवा उसे उत्तम बनाता है, तुम उस व्यक्ति को बल संपन्न करके धनों से पूर्ण करते हो. (११)
EN English Translation
O brave and revolutionary agni! You protect and fulfill the desires of the one who praises you. Whoever performs the rites of the yajnasadhan havya or makes it better, you complete that person with money by completing it with strength. (11)
त्वम॑ग्ने वनुष्य॒तो नि पा॑हि॒ त्वमु॑ नः सहसावन्नव॒द्यात् । सं त्वा॑ ध्वस्म॒न्वद॒भ्ये॑तु॒ पाथः॒ सं र॒यिः स्पृ॑ह॒याय्यः॑ सह॒स्री ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! शत्रु से हमारी रक्षा करो. हे शक्तिशाली अग्नि! पाप से हमारी रक्षा करो. हमारा दोषरहित हव्यान्न तुम्हारे समीप पहुंचे एवं तुम्हारा दिया हुआ हजारों प्रकार का धन हमें मिले. (१२)
EN English Translation
O agni! Protect us from the enemy. O mighty agni! Protect us from sin. Our faultless desire came to you and we received thousands of kinds of money you had given us. (12)
अ॒ग्निर्होता॑ गृ॒हप॑तिः॒ स राजा॒ विश्वा॑ वेद॒ जनि॑मा जा॒तवे॑दाः । दे॒वाना॑मु॒त यो मर्त्या॑नां॒ यजि॑ष्ठः॒ स प्र य॑जतामृ॒तावा॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देवों को बुलाने वाले, गृह के स्वामी, दीप्तिशाली एवं सबको जानने वाले अग्नि सभी जन्मधारियों को जानते हैं. देवों एवं मानवों में अतिशय यज्ञकर्ता एवं सत्यशील अग्नि उत्तमरूप से देवों का यजन करें. (१३)
EN English Translation
Those who call the gods, the masters of the house, the bright and the ones who know all, the agni knows all the birth-holders. In gods and human beings, the most sacrificial and truthful agni should best worship the gods. (13)
अग्ने॒ यद॒द्य वि॒शो अ॑ध्वरस्य होतः॒ पाव॑कशोचे॒ वेष्ट्वं हि यज्वा॑ । ऋ॒ता य॑जासि महि॒ना वि यद्भूर्ह॒व्या व॑ह यविष्ठ॒ या ते॑ अ॒द्य ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यज्ञ संपन्न करने वाले एवं पवित्रप्रकाश वाले अग्नि! इस समय तुम यजमान के कर्त्तव्य की कामना करो. लुम देवों के यज्ञकर्ता हो, इसलिए देवयजन करो. हे अतिशय युवा अग्नि! तुम अपने महत्त्व से सर्वव्यापक हुए हो. आज तुम्हें जो भी हव्य दिया जावे, उसे वहन करो. (१४)
EN English Translation
O agni that performs yajna and is a agni of holy light! At this time you wish for the duty of the host. Lum is the yajnakara of the gods, so do the devas. O very young agni! You have become omnipresent by your importance. Whatever you are given today, bear it. (14)
अ॒भि प्रयां॑सि॒ सुधि॑तानि॒ हि ख्यो नि त्वा॑ दधीत॒ रोद॑सी॒ यज॑ध्यै । अवा॑ नो मघव॒न्वाज॑साता॒वग्ने॒ विश्वा॑नि दुरि॒ता त॑रेम॒ ता त॑रेम॒ तवाव॑सा तरेम ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! वेदी पर भली-भांति रखे हविरूप अन्नों को देखो. धरती-आकाश में यज्ञ करने के निमित्त तुम्हारी स्थापना की गई है. हे धनस्वामी अग्नि! अन्न निमित्तक युद्ध में हमारी रक्षा करो. तुम्हारे द्वारा सुरक्षित होकर हम सभी पापों से छूट जावें. (१५)
EN English Translation
O agni! Look at the food grains well placed on the altar. You have been established to perform yajna in the earth and sky. O rich godly agni! Protect us in the food war. Be protected by you and let us be freed from all sins. (15)
अग्ने॒ विश्वे॑भिः स्वनीक दे॒वैरूर्णा॑वन्तं प्रथ॒मः सी॑द॒ योनि॑म् । कु॒ला॒यिनं॑ घृ॒तव॑न्तं सवि॒त्रे य॒ज्ञं न॑य॒ यज॑मानाय सा॒धु ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शोभन ज्वालाओं वाले एवं देवप्रमुख अग्नि! कंबलों से युक्त घोंसले के समान एवं घृतसंपन्न वेदी पर सभी देवों के साथ बैठी तथा यज्ञकर्ता यजमान के कल्याण के निमित्त उसका यज्ञ देवों के समीप ले जाओ. (१६)
EN English Translation
O agni with beautiful flames and godly agni! Sit with all the gods on the nest-like and disgusting altar with blankets, and take the yajna to the devas for the welfare of the sacrificial host. (16)
इ॒ममु॒ त्यम॑थर्व॒वद॒ग्निं म॑न्थन्ति वे॒धसः॑ । यम॑ङ्कू॒यन्त॒मान॑य॒न्नमू॑रं श्या॒व्या॑भ्यः ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ऋत्विज् अथर्वा ऋषि के समान इस अग्नि का मंथन करते हैं एवं देवों के मध्य से निकलकर इधर-उधर भागते हुए बुद्धिसंपन्न अग्नि को अंधकार के मध्य से लाते हैं. (१७)
EN English Translation
Ritwiz atharva churns out this agni like the sage and comes out of the midst of the gods and runs around and brings the intelligent agni from the midst of darkness. (17)
जनि॑ष्वा दे॒ववी॑तये स॒र्वता॑ता स्व॒स्तये॑ । आ दे॒वान्व॑क्ष्य॒मृता॑ँ ऋता॒वृधो॑ य॒ज्ञं दे॒वेषु॑ पिस्पृशः ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम देवों की कामना करने वाले यजमान के कल्याण के निमित्त यज्ञ में उत्पन्न होओ, यज्ञ बढ़ाने वाले देवों का यजन करो एवं हमारे यज्ञ को देवों के पास ले जाओ. (१८)
EN English Translation
O agni! You should be born in the yagna for the welfare of the host who wishes for the gods, worship the gods who increase the yajna and take our yajna to the gods. (18)
व॒यमु॑ त्वा गृहपते जनाना॒मग्ने॒ अक॑र्म स॒मिधा॑ बृ॒हन्त॑म् । अ॒स्थू॒रि नो॒ गार्ह॑पत्यानि सन्तु ति॒ग्मेन॑ न॒स्तेज॑सा॒ सं शि॑शाधि ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यज्ञपालनकर्तता अग्नि! मनुष्यों में हम ही तुमको समिधाओं द्वारा बढ़ाते हैं. हमारे गार्हपत्य-यज्ञ, पुत्र, पशुधन आदि से संपन्न हों. तुम हमें तीखे तेज से मिलाओ. (१९)
EN English Translation
O yajnapalankarata agni! Among human beings, we raise you up through committees. Let's be endowed with our garhaptya-yajna, son, livestock, etc. You meet us sharply. (19)
