अ॒या वी॒ती परि॑ स्रव॒ यस्त॑ इन्दो॒ मदे॒ष्वा । अ॒वाह॑न्नव॒तीर्नव॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम इंद्र के उपभोग के लिए उस रस के रूप में नीचे गिरो, जिसने संग्रामों में श्रुओं की निन्यानवे नगरियों को समाप्त किया था. (१)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You fall down as the juice for the consumption of Indra, who had ended the ninety-nine cities of the Shroos in the struggles. (1)
पुरः॑ स॒द्य इ॒त्थाधि॑ये॒ दिवो॑दासाय॒ शम्ब॑रम् । अध॒ त्यं तु॒र्वशं॒ यदु॑म् ॥ (२)

सोमरस ने एक ही दिन में शत्रु नगरियों के स्वामी शंबर, यदु एवं तुर्वश नामक राजाओं को सच्चे कर्म वाले दिवोदास के वश में कर दिया था. (२)
EN English Translation
In a single day, Somras had subdued the kings of enemy cities named Shambar, Yadu and Turvash, the masters of enemy cities, to Divodas with true deeds. (2)
परि॑ णो॒ अश्व॑मश्व॒विद्गोम॑दिन्दो॒ हिर॑ण्यवत् । क्षरा॑ सह॒स्रिणी॒रिषः॑ ॥ (३)

हे अश्च प्राप्त करने वाले सोम! तुम हमारे लिए घोड़ा, गाय एवं स्वर्ण से युक्त अनेक प्रकार का अन्न दो. (३)
EN English Translation
O assh-receiving mon! You give us a variety of food containing horses, cows and gold. (3)
पव॑मानस्य ते व॒यं प॒वित्र॑मभ्युन्द॒तः । स॒खि॒त्वमा वृ॑णीमहे ॥ (४)

हे टपकने वाले एवं दशापवित्र को गीला करने वाले सोम! हम तुमसे मित्रता की प्रार्थना करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O soothing and wetting mon of dashapavitra! We pray to you for friendship. (4)
ये ते॑ प॒वित्र॑मू॒र्मयो॑ऽभि॒क्षर॑न्ति॒ धार॑या । तेभि॑र्नः सोम मृळय ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम्हारी जो लहरें धारा के रूप में दशापवित्र पर गिरती हैं, हमें उसके द्वारा सुखी करो. (५)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! Make us happy by the waves that fall on the dashapavitra as a stream of yours. (5)
स नः॑ पुना॒न आ भ॑र र॒यिं वी॒रव॑ती॒मिष॑म् । ईशा॑नः सोम वि॒श्वतः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे समस्त धन के स्वामी एवं निचुड़ते हुए सोम! तुम शुद्ध होते हुए हमारे लिए धन एवं संतानयुक्त धन चारों ओर से लाओ. (६)
EN English Translation
O Lord of all wealth and the departing Mon! You, being cleansed, bring us wealth and children's wealth from all around. (6)
ए॒तमु॒ त्यं दश॒ क्षिपो॑ मृ॒जन्ति॒ सिन्धु॑मातरम् । समा॑दि॒त्येभि॑रख्यत ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
नदियों के पुत्र सोम को दस उंगलियां मसलती हैं. सोम आदित्यो के साथ मिलते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
The son of rivers rubs ten fingers to Som. Som meets with Aditya. (7)
समिन्द्रे॑णो॒त वा॒युना॑ सु॒त ए॑ति प॒वित्र॒ आ । सं सूर्य॑स्य र॒श्मिभिः॑ ॥ (८)

निचोड़े हुए सोम दशापवित्र में इंद्र, वायु एवं सूर्य की किरणों के साथ मिलते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
The squeezed som meets with the rays of Indra, air and sun in dashapavitra. (8)
स नो॒ भगा॑य वा॒यवे॑ पू॒ष्णे प॑वस्व॒ मधु॑मान् । चारु॑र्मि॒त्रे वरु॑णे च ॥ (९)

हे मधुर रस से युक्त, कल्याणस्वरूप एवं निचुड़े हुए सोम! तुम भग, वायु, पूषा, मित्र एवं वरुण के लिए टपको. (९)
EN English Translation
O you with sweet juices, kalyanswaroopa and uninvited mon! You tap for the clitoris, the air, the push, the friend and Varuna. (9)
उ॒च्चा ते॑ जा॒तमन्ध॑सो दि॒वि षद्भूम्या द॑दे । उ॒ग्रं शर्म॒ महि॒ श्रवः॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम्हारा अन्न द्युलोक में उत्पन्न होता है तथा तुम्हारा द्युलोक में विद्यमान, उग्र एवं महान् सुख और अन्न धरती पर है. (१०)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! Your food is produced in the world and yours is present in the world, the fierce and great happiness and food on the earth. (10)
ए॒ना विश्वा॑न्य॒र्य आ द्यु॒म्नानि॒ मानु॑षाणाम् । सिषा॑सन्तो वनामहे ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इन सोम की सहायता से मनुष्यों के सभी धनों को भली प्रकार प्राप्त करते हुए एवं बांटने की इच्छा करते हुए भोगेंगे. (११)
EN English Translation
With the help of these mons, all the wealth of human beings will be enjoyed by receiving and wishing to share well. (11)
स न॒ इन्द्रा॑य॒ यज्य॑वे॒ वरु॑णाय म॒रुद्भ्यः॑ । व॒रि॒वो॒वित्परि॑ स्रव ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धन देने वाले सोम! तुम हमारे यज्ञ के पात्र इंद्र, वरुण एवं मरुतों के लिए धारा के रूप में नीचे गिरो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O mon who gives money! You fall down as the stream for the characters indra, varuna and maruts of our yajna. (12)
उपो॒ षु जा॒तम॒प्तुरं॒ गोभि॑र्भ॒ङ्गं परि॑ष्कृतम् । इन्दुं॑ दे॒वा अ॑यासिषुः ॥ (१३)

देवगण भली-भांति उत्पन्न, जल के द्वारा प्रेरित, शत्रुनाशक व गायों के दूध-दही आदि से अलंकृत सोम के पास जाते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
The devas go to the Som, well-produced, inspired by water, anti-enemy and ornate with the milk-curd of the cows, etc. (13)
तमिद्व॑र्धन्तु नो॒ गिरो॑ व॒त्सं सं॒शिश्व॑रीरिव । य इन्द्र॑स्य हृदं॒सनिः॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारी स्तुतियां इंद्र के हृदयग्राही सोम को उसी प्रकार भली-भांति बढ़ावें, जैसे बढ़े हुए दूध वाली माताएं बच्चों को बढ़ाती हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
May our praises enhance Indra's heart-taker, Soma, in the same way that mothers with increased milk raise children. (14)
अर्षा॑ णः सोम॒ शं गवे॑ धु॒क्षस्व॑ पि॒प्युषी॒मिष॑म् । वर्धा॑ समु॒द्रमु॒क्थ्य॑म् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम हमारी गायों को सुख दो. तुम हमारे लिए अधिक अन्न तथा प्रशंसनीय जल बढ़ाओ. (१५)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You give pleasure to our cows. You increase more food and admirable water for us. (15)
पव॑मानो अजीजनद्दि॒वश्चि॒त्रं न त॑न्य॒तुम् । ज्योति॑र्वैश्वान॒रं बृ॒हत् ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शुद्ध होते हुए सोम ने वैश्वानर नामक ज्योति को वज्र के समान इसलिए उत्पन्न किया था कि स्वर्ग का विस्तार हो सके. (१६)
EN English Translation
While being purified, Som had created a light called Vaishvanar like a thunderbolt so that heaven could expand. (16)
पव॑मानस्य ते॒ रसो॒ मदो॑ राजन्नदुच्छु॒नः । वि वार॒मव्य॑मर्षति ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दीप्तिशाली सोम! जब तुम शुद्ध होते हो तो तुम्हारा राक्षसनाशक एवं मदकारक रस भेड़ के बालों से बने हुए दशापवित्र पर जाता है. (१७)
EN English Translation
O radiant Mon! When you are cleansed, your demonic and intoxicating juice goes to the dashapavitra made of sheep's hair. (17)
पव॑मान॒ रस॒स्तव॒ दक्षो॒ वि रा॑जति द्यु॒मान् । ज्योति॒र्विश्वं॒ स्व॑र्दृ॒शे ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शुद्ध होते हुए सोम! तुम्हारा बढ़ा हुआ एवं दीप्तिशाली रस विशेषरूप से सुशोभित होता है तथा अपने तेज से विश्व को व्याप्त करके देखने योग्य बनाता है. (१८)
EN English Translation
O you are pure, Mon! Your grown and radiant juice is especially beautified and makes the world visible by pervading it with its brightness. (18)
यस्ते॒ मदो॒ वरे॑ण्य॒स्तेना॑ पव॒स्वान्ध॑सा । दे॒वा॒वीर॑घशंस॒हा ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम अपने देवाभिलाषी, राक्षसहंता, सबके वरण करने योग्य एवं नशीले रस को अन्न के साथ टपकाओ. (१९)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You should drip your godly, demonic, all-chooseable and intoxicating juices with the grain. (19)
जघ्नि॑र्वृ॒त्रम॑मि॒त्रियं॒ सस्नि॒र्वाजं॑ दि॒वेदि॑वे । गो॒षा उ॑ अश्व॒सा अ॑सि ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुमने शत्रु वृत्र को मारा, प्रतिदिन संग्राम में भाग लिया एवं तुम गाएं तथा घोड़े देते हो. (२०)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You killed the enemy, you took part in the battle every day and you sing and give horses. (20)
सम्मि॑श्लो अरु॒षो भ॑व सूप॒स्थाभि॒र्न धे॒नुभिः॑ । सीद॑ञ्छ्ये॒नो न योनि॒मा ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शोभन स्वाद वाले गाय के दूध, दही आदि से मिले हुए सोम! तुम बाज पक्षी के समान शीघ्र अपने स्थान पर बैठते हुए सुशोभित बनो. (२१)
EN English Translation
O mon mixed with cow's milk, curd, etc. with a shobhan taste! Beautify you sitting in your place as soon as a hawk bird. (21)
स प॑वस्व॒ य आवि॒थेन्द्रं॑ वृ॒त्राय॒ हन्त॑वे । व॒व्रि॒वांसं॑ म॒हीर॒पः ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुमने विशाल जलों को रोकने वाले वृत्र के मारने के लिए इंद्र की रक्षा की थी. तुम इस समय नीचे गिरो. (२२)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You protected Indra to kill the vritra that stopped the vast waters. You fall down at this time. (22)
सु॒वीरा॑सो व॒यं धना॒ जये॑म सोम मीढ्वः । पु॒ना॒नो व॑र्ध नो॒ गिरः॑ ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सींचने वाले एवं शुद्ध होते हुए सोम! तुम हमारी स्तुतियों को बढ़ाओ. हम अंगिरागोत्रीय अमहीयु आदि ऋषि शत्रुओं के धन जीते. (२३)
EN English Translation
O waterer and cleansing Mon! You increase our praises. We won the wealth of the sage enemies of the Angiragotrian Amhiyu etc. (23)
त्वोता॑स॒स्तवाव॑सा॒ स्याम॑ व॒न्वन्त॑ आ॒मुरः॑ । सोम॑ व्र॒तेषु॑ जागृहि ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! हम तुम्हारे द्वारा रक्षित होकर अपने शत्रुओं को पाते ही मार डालें. तुम हमारे यज्ञको में जागृत बनो. (२४)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! We protected by you and kill our enemies as soon as we find them. You be awakened in our yajnas. (24)
अ॒प॒घ्नन्प॑वते॒ मृधोऽप॒ सोमो॒ अरा॑व्णः । गच्छ॒न्निन्द्र॑स्य निष्कृ॒तम् ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम शत्रुओं को मारते हुए, धनदान न करने वालों को मारते हुए तथा इंद्र के स्थान को पाते हुए धारा के रूप में गिरे थे. (२५)
EN English Translation
Som had fallen as a stream, killing enemies, killing those who did not donate money, and finding Indra's place. (25)
म॒हो नो॑ रा॒य आ भ॑र॒ पव॑मान ज॒ही मृधः॑ । रास्वे॑न्दो वी॒रव॒द्यशः॑ ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शुद्ध होते हुए सोम! हमारे लिए महान् धन लाओ, हमें मारने वाले शत्रुओं को मारो तथा हमें संतानयुक्त यश दो. (२६)
EN English Translation
O you are pure, Mon! Bring us great wealth, kill the enemies who kill us and give us childlike glory. (26)
न त्वा॑ श॒तं च॒न ह्रुतो॒ राधो॒ दित्स॑न्त॒मा मि॑नन् । यत्पु॑ना॒नो म॑ख॒स्यसे॑ ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! जब तुम शुद्ध होते हुए हमें धन देना चाहते हो, उस समय हमें धन देने वाले तुमको बहुत से शत्रु भी नहीं रोक पाते. (२७)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! When you want to give us money while you are clean, even many enemies who give us money cannot stop you. (27)
पव॑स्वेन्दो॒ वृषा॑ सु॒तः कृ॒धी नो॑ य॒शसो॒ जने॑ । विश्वा॒ अप॒ द्विषो॑ जहि ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे निचुड़े हुए एवं सींचने वाले सोम! तुम धारा के रूप में टपको, हमें जनपदों में यशस्वी बनाओ तथा सभी शत्रुओं को मारो. (२८)
EN English Translation
O som who is lying down and watering! You tap as a stream, make us successful in the districts and kill all the enemies. (28)
अस्य॑ ते स॒ख्ये व॒यं तवे॑न्दो द्यु॒म्न उ॑त्त॒मे । सा॒स॒ह्याम॑ पृतन्य॒तः ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इस यज्ञ में वर्तमान सोम! जब हम तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त कर लेंगे एवं तुम्हारे द्वारा दिए गए श्रेष्ठ अन्न से पुष्ट हो जाएंगे तो युद्ध के इच्छुक शत्रुओं को मारेंगे. (२९)
EN English Translation
O present Mon in this yajna! When we have gained your friendship and been strengthened by the best food you have given us, we will kill the enemies who are willing to fight. (29)
या ते॑ भी॒मान्यायु॑धा ति॒ग्मानि॒ सन्ति॒ धूर्व॑णे । रक्षा॑ समस्य नो नि॒दः ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम्हारे जो भयंकर, तीखे और शत्रुवध करने वाले आयुध हैं, उनके द्वारा हमें सभी शत्रुओं की निंदा से बचाओ. (३०)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! Save us from the condemnation of all enemies by those who are fierce, sharp and hostile weapons of yours. (30)
