इ॒यं नारी॑पतिलो॒कं वृ॑णा॒ना नि प॑द्यत॒ उप॑ त्वा मर्त्य॒ प्रेत॑म् । धर्मं॑पुरा॒णम॑नुपा॒लय॑न्ती॒ तस्यै॑ प्र॒जां द्रवि॑णं चे॒ह धे॑हि ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यह स्त्री धर्म का पालन करने के लिए तेरे दान आदि की इच्छा करती हुई तेरे समीप आती है. इस प्रकार तेरा अनुकरण करने वाली इस स्त्री को तू अगले जन्म में भी संतान वाली बनाना. (१)
EN English Translation
This woman comes close to you wishing for your charity etc. to follow dharma. In this way, you should make this woman who follows you with children in the next life. (1)
उदी॑र्ष्वनार्य॒भि जी॑वलो॒कं ग॒तासु॑मे॒तमुप॑ शेष॒ एहि॑ । ह॑स्तग्रा॒भस्य॑ दधि॒षोस्तवे॒दंपत्यु॑र्जनि॒त्वम॒भि सं ब॑भूथ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे नारी! तू इस प्राणहीन पति के पास बैठी है. अब तू इस के पास से उठ. तू अपने पति से उत्पन्न हुए पुत्र, पौत्र आदि को प्राप्त हो गई है. (२)
EN English Translation
O woman! You are sitting next to this lifeless husband. Now you get up from this. You have received a son, grandson, etc. born from your husband. (2)
अप॑श्यं युव॒तिंनी॒यमा॑नां जी॒वां मृ॒तेभ्यः॑ परिणी॒यमा॑नाम् । अ॒न्धेन॒ यत्तम॑सा॒प्रावृ॒तासी॑त्प्रा॒क्तो अपा॑चीमनयं॒ तदे॑नाम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं तरुण अवस्था वाली जीवित गौ को मृतक के समीप ले जाई जाती हुई देखता हूं. यह भी आज्ञान से ढकी हुई है, इसलिए मैं इसे शव के पास से हटा कर अपने सामने लाता हूं. (३)
EN English Translation
I see a young cow being taken near the deceased. It is also covered with command, so I remove it from the body and bring it in front of me. (3)
प्र॑जान॒त्यघ्न्ये जीवलो॒कं दे॒वानां॒ पन्था॑मनुसं॒चर॑न्ती । अ॒यं ते॒गोप॑ति॒स्तं जु॑षस्व स्व॒र्गं लो॒कमधि॑ रोहयैनम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे गौ! तू पृथ्वीलोक को भलीभांति जानती तथा यज्ञ मार्ग को देखती है. तू दूध, दही आदि से युक्त हो कर जा. तू अपने उस स्वामी का सेवन कर जो गायों का स्वामी है. तू इस मृतक को स्वर्ग की प्राप्ति करा. (४)
EN English Translation
O cow! You know the earth very well and see the path of sacrifice. You go with milk, curd etc. Eat your master who is the master of cows. May you bring this deceased to heaven. (4)
उप॒ द्यामुप॑वेत॒समव॑त्तरो न॒दीना॑म् । अग्ने॑ पि॒त्तम॒पाम॑सि ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जल में उगी हुई काई और बेंत में जल का सार अंश है जो उन का रक्षक है. हे अग्नि! तू जल संबधी पित्त है. इसलिए मैं तुझे बेंत की शाखा, नदी के फेन और दूब आदि से शांत करता हूं. (५)
EN English Translation
Mosses grown in water and cane contain the essence of water which is their protector. O agni! You are water-related pitta. That is why I calm you down with a cane branch, river fen and doob, etc. (5)
यं त्वम॑ग्नेस॒मद॑ह॒स्तमु॒ निर्वा॑पया॒ पुनः॑ । क्याम्बू॒रत्र॑ रोहतु शाण्डदू॒र्वा व्यल्कशा ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जिस पुरुष को तुम ने भस्म किया है, उसे सुखी करो. इस स्थान पर दुःखनाशक दूब घास उग सके, उस के लिए यहां कितना जल डालना चाहिए? (६)
EN English Translation
O agni! Please the man whom you have consumed. How much water should be poured here so that the grass can grow at this place? (6)
इ॒दं त॒एकं॑ प॒र ऊ॑ त॒ एकं॑ तृ॒तीये॑न॒ ज्योति॑षा॒ सं वि॑शस्व । सं॒वेश॑ने त॒न्वा॒चारु॑रेधि प्रि॒यो दे॒वानां॑ पर॒मे स॒धस्थे॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! यह गार्हपत्य अग्नि तुझे परलोक पहुंचाने वाली ज्योति है. न रुकने वाली पवन दूसरी तथा आहवनीय अग्नि तीसरी ज्योति है. तू आहवनीय अग्नि से मिल तथा अग्ने में प्रवेश करने के कारण देव शरीर को प्राप्त कर के बढ़. इस के बाद तू इंद्र आदि देवताओं का प्रिय पात्र होगा. (७)
EN English Translation
Oh my god! This agni is the light that brings you to the hereafter. The wind that does not stop is the second and the agni is the third light. You meet the agni and enter the agni, so that you attain the body of God. After this, you will be the favorite character of gods like Indra etc. (7)
उत्ति॑ष्ठ॒प्रेहि॒ प्र द्र॒वौकः॑ कृणुष्व सलि॒ले स॒धस्थे॑ । तत्र॒ त्वं पि॒तृभिः॑संविदा॒नः सं सोमे॑न॒ मद॑स्व॒ सं स्व॒धाभिः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! तू इस स्थान से उठ और चल. शीघ्रता से चलता हुआ तू अंतरिक्ष को अपना निवास स्थान बना तथा पितरों से मिल कर सोमरस का पान करता हुआ हर्षित हो. (८)
EN English Translation
O ghost! You get up from this place and walk. Moving fast, you make space your abode and be happy to meet your ancestors and drink Someras. (8)
प्र च्य॑वस्वत॒न्वं सं भ॑रस्व॒ मा ते॒ गात्रा॒ वि हा॑यि॒ मो शरी॑रम् । मनो॒निवि॑ष्टमनु॒संवि॑शस्व॒ यत्र॒ भूमे॑र्जु॒षसे॒ तत्र॑ गच्छ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! तू अपने शरीर के सब अंगों को एकत्र कर. तेरा कोई भी अंग यहां न छूट जाए. तेरा मन जिन स्वर्ग आदि स्थानों में रमा है, तू वहां प्रवेश कर. तू जिस भूमि से प्रेम करता है, उसी भूमि को प्राप्त हो. (९)
EN English Translation
O ghost! Gather all the parts of your body. None of your organs should be left here. Enter the places where your mind is rama in the heavens and other places. The land you love, get the same land. (9)
वर्च॑सा॒ मांपि॒तरः॑ सो॒म्यासो॒ अञ्ज॑न्तु दे॒वा मधु॑ना घृ॒तेन॑ । चक्षु॑षे मा प्रत॒रंता॒रय॑न्तो ज॒रसे॑ मा ज॒रद॑ष्टिं वर्धन्तु ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस पीने के अधिकारी पितर मुझे तेजस्वी बनाएं. विश्वे देव मुझे मधुर घृत से युक्त करें. मैं दीर्घकाल तक देखता रहूं, इसलिए तू मुझे रोगों से मुक्त करते हुए बढ़. (१०)
EN English Translation
Make me stunning, the officer of drinking somers. May Vishwe Dev equip me with sweet hatred. I watch for a long time, so you grow freeing me from diseases. (10)
वर्च॑सा॒ मांसम॑नक्त्व॒ग्निर्मे॒धां मे॒ विष्णु॒र्न्यनक्त्वा॒सन् । र॒यिं मे॒ विश्वे॒ निय॑च्छन्तु दे॒वाः स्यो॒ना मापः॒ पव॑नैः पुनन्तु ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि देव मुझे तेजस्वी बनाएं तथा विष्णु मेरे मुख में बुद्धि को भलीभांति स्थापित करें. विश्वे देव मुझे सुख देने वाले धन का स्वामी बनाएं. जल अपने शुद्ध साधन वायु के द्वारा मुझे पवित्र करें. (११)
EN English Translation
May God Agni make me radiant and May Vishnu establish wisdom well in my mouth. May God make me the master of wealth that gives me happiness. May water sanctify me through its pure means of air. (11)
मि॒त्रावरु॑णा॒परि॒ माम॑धातामादि॒त्या मा॒ स्वर॑वो वर्धयन्तु । वर्चो॑ म॒ इन्द्रो॒ न्यनक्तु॒हस्त॑योर्ज॒रद॑ष्टिं मा सवि॒ता कृ॑णोतु ॥ (१२)

दिवस के अभिमानी देवता मित्र अर्थात् सूर्य तथा रात्रि के अभिमानी देव वरुण मुझे वस्त्र आदि प्रदान करें. आदित्य देव हम सब की वृद्धि करते हुए हमारे शत्रुओं को संतप्त बनाएं. इंद्र मुझे भुजाओं का बल दें तथा सविता मुझे दीर्घ आयु वाला बनाएं. (१२)
EN English Translation
Friends, the arrogant god of the day, that is, the sun and the arrogant god of the night, Varuna, should give me clothes etc. Aditya Dev should increase all of us and make our enemies angry. May Indra give me the strength of the arms and Savita make me a long life. (12)
यो म॒मार॑प्रथ॒मो मर्त्या॑नां॒ यः प्रे॒याय॑ प्रथ॒मो लो॒कमे॒तम् । वै॑वस्व॒तं सं॒गम॑नं॒जना॑नां य॒मं राजा॑नं ह॒विषा॑ सपर्यत ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यम मरणधर्मा मनुष्यों में उत्पन्न हुए थे. सब से पहले उन्हीं की मृत्यु हुई थी. इस के पश्चात ये दूसरे लोक में पहुंचे. यम सूर्य के पुत्र हैं. सभी प्राणी मृत्यु के पश्चात इन्हीं के पास जाते हैं. हे ऋत्विजो! इन यम का पूजन करो जो सब को पाप और पुण्य के अनुसार फल देते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
Yama was born in mortal beings. He died first. After this, they reached another world. Yama is the son of the Sun. All beings go to them after death. O Ritvijo! Worship these Yamas who give fruits to everyone according to sin and virtue. (13)
परा॑ यात पितर॒ आच॑ याता॒यं वो॑ य॒ज्ञो मधु॑ना॒ सम॑क्तः । द॒त्तो अ॒स्मभ्यं॒ द्रवि॑णे॒ह भ॒द्रंर॒यिं च॑ नः॒ सर्व॑वीरं दधात ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पितरो! तुम हमारे पितृयाग नामक कर्म से संतुष्ट हो कर अपने स्थान की ओर जाओ हम जब तुम्हारा पुनः आह्वान करें, तब आना. हम ने तुम्हें मधु और घृत से युक्त यज्ञ दिया है तुम इस यज्ञ को स्वीकार कर के हमारे घर में मंगलमय ऐश्वर्य तथा पुत्रों, पौत्रों, पशुओं आदि को स्थापित करो. (१४)
EN English Translation
O father! You should be satisfied with our deed called Pitrayag and go to your place when we call you again, then come. We have given you a yajna with honey and ghee, you accept this yajna and establish auspicious opulence and sons, grandsons, animals etc. in our house. (14)
कण्वः॑क॒क्षीवा॑न्पुरुमी॒ढो अ॒गस्त्यः॑ श्या॒वाश्वः॒ सोभ॑र्यर्च॒नानाः॑ । वि॒श्वामि॑त्रो॒ऽयं ज॒मद॑ग्नि॒रत्रि॒रव॑न्तु नः क॒श्यपो॑ वा॒मदे॑वः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पूजा के योग्य कण्व, कक्षीवान, पुरुमीढ, अगस्त्य, श्यावाश्व, सौभरि, विश्वामित्र, जमदग्नि, अग्नि, कश्यप तथा वामदेव नाम वाले अनेक ऋषि हमारे रक्षक हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
Many sages named Kanva, Shreevan, Purumidh, Agastya, Shyavashva, Saubhari, Vishwamitra, Jamadagni, Agni, Kashyap and Vamdev are our protectors for worship. (15)
विश्वा॑मित्र॒जम॑दग्ने॒ वसि॑ष्ठ॒ भर॑द्वाज॒ गोत॑म॒ वाम॑देव । श॒र्दिर्नो॒अत्रि॑रग्रभी॒न्नमो॑भिः॒ सुसं॑शासः॒ पित॑रो मृ॒डता॑ नः ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे विश्वामित्र, जमदग्नि, वसिष्ठ, भारद्वाज, गौतम, वामदेव नामक महर्षियो! तुम हमें सुख प्रदान करो. महर्षि अत्रि ने हमारे घर रक्षा करना स्वीकार कर लिया है. हे पितरो! तुम हमारे नमस्कार आदि के द्वारा पूजने के योग्य हो. तुम भी हमें सुख प्रदान करो. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Maharshis called Vishwamitra, Jamadagni, Vasishtha, Bharadwaj, Gautama and Vamdev! You give us happiness. Maharishi Atri has accepted to protect our house. O father! You are worthy of worship through our greetings etc. You also give us happiness. (16)
क॒स्ये मृ॑जाना॒अति॑ यन्ति रि॒प्रमायु॒र्दधा॑नाः प्रत॒रं नवी॑यः । आ॒प्याय॑मानाः प्र॒जया॒धने॒नाध॑ स्याम सुर॒भयो॑ गृ॒हेषु॑ ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम श्मशान में अपने बांधव की मृत्यु के दुःख का त्याग करते हुए तथा शव के स्पर्श के पाप से मुक्त होते हुए अपने घर जाते हैं. इस प्रकार हम दुःख से छूट गए हैं. इस कारण हम पुत्र, पौत्र, पशु, सुवर्ण, धन, सुंदर गंध और वायु से संपन्न रहें. (१७)
EN English Translation
We go home in the crematorium, sacrificing the sorrow of the death of our brother and freeing us from the sin of touching the dead body. Thus we are freed from grief. For this reason, we should be endowed with sons, grandsons, animals, gold, wealth, beautiful smell and air. (17)
अ॒ञ्जते॒व्यञ्जते॒ सम॑ञ्जते॒ क्रतुं॑ रिहन्ति॒ मधु॑ना॒भ्यञ्जते । सिन्धो॑रुच्छ्वा॒सेप॒तय॑न्तमु॒क्षणं॑ हिरण्यपा॒वाः प॒शुमा॑सु गृह्णते ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ऋत्विज् सोमयाग के आरंभ में यजमान की आंखों में अंजन लगाते हैं. सागर की वृद्धि के समय उदय होने वाले, रश्मियों द्वारा देखने वाले तथा प्रकाशमय चंद्रमा की रक्षा करने वाले सोम के रूप में स्थापित करते हुए हम चार थालियों में उस का शोधन करते हैं. (१८)
EN English Translation
At the beginning of the Ritvij Somayag, the host's eyes are applied to the eyes. We refine it in four plates, establishing it as a soma that rises at the time of the growth of the ocean, sees it by rays and protects the luminous moon. (18)
यद्वो॑ मु॒द्रंपि॑तरः सो॒म्यं च॒ तेनो॑ सचध्वं॒ स्वय॑शसो॒ हि भू॒त । ते अ॑र्वाणः कवय॒ आ शृ॑णोतसुवि॒दत्रा॑ वि॒दथे॑ हू॒यमा॑नाः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पितरो! तुम अपने सोमरूपी धन के सहित हम से मिलो, क्योंकि तुम अपने यज्ञ के कारण यशस्वी हो. तुम हमें हमारा अभीष्ट प्रदान करो और बुलाए जाने पर हमारे आह्वान को सुनो. (१९)
EN English Translation
O father! Meet us with your soma-like wealth, because you are successful because of your sacrifice. You give us our will and listen to our call when called. (19)
ये अत्र॑यो॒अङ्गि॑रसो॒ नव॑ग्वा इ॒ष्टाव॑न्तो राति॒षाचो॒ दधा॑नाः । दक्षि॑णावन्तः सु॒कृतो॒ यउ॒ स्थासद्या॒स्मिन्ब॒र्हिषि॑ मादयध्वम् ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पितरो! तुम अत्रि और अंगिरा गोत्र वाले हो. तुम नौ महीने तक सत्र याग करने के कारण स्वर्ग में आरोहण करने वाले होता हो. तुम दस मास वाला याग पूर्ण करने पर दक्षिणा देने वाले पुण्य आत्मा हो. इस कारण इस विस्तृत कुश पर बैठ कर हमारी हवि से तृप्ति करो. (२०)
EN English Translation
O father! You belong to the tribe of Atri and Angira. You are about to climb to heaven because of the session yag for nine months. You are a virtuous soul who gives dakshina after completing the ten-month yag. For this reason, sit on this wide kush and satisfy our desire. (20)
अधा॒ यथा॑ नःपि॒तरः॒ परा॑सः प्र॒त्नासो॑ अग्न ऋ॒तमा॑शशा॒नाः । शुचीद॑य॒न्दीध्य॑त उक्थ॒शासः॒क्षामा॑ भि॒न्दन्तो॑ अरु॒णीरप॑ व्रन् ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जिस प्रकार हमारे श्रेष्ठ पितर स्वर्ग को प्राप्त हुए हैं, उसी प्रकार उवथों का गान करने वाले पितर रात्रि के अंधकार को अपने तेज से दूर कर के उषाओं को प्रकाशित करते हैं. (२१)
EN English Translation
O agni! Just as our superior ancestors have attained heaven, in the same way, the fathers who sing the uths remove the darkness of the night from their glory and illuminate the ushas. (21)
सु॒कर्मा॑णःसु॒रुचो॑ देव॒यन्तो॒ अयो॒ न दे॒वा जनि॑मा॒ धम॑न्तः । शु॒चन्तो॑ अ॒ग्निंवा॑वृ॒धन्त॒ इन्द्र॑मु॒र्वीं गव्यां॑ परि॒षदं॑ नो अक्रन् ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सुंदर कर्म तथा सुंदर तेज वाले देव काम्य तप से अपने जन्म का शोधन करने वाले देवत्व को प्राप्त हुए. गार्हपत्य अग्नि को प्रदीप्त करते हुए तथा अपनी स्तुतियों से इंद्र को प्रबुद्ध बनाते हुए वे पितर गायों को हमारे यहां निवास करने वाली बनाएं. (२२)
EN English Translation
The gods with beautiful deeds and beautiful radiance attained divinity, refining their birth with kamaya tapa. By illuminating the agni of garhapatya and enlightening Indra with his praises, he should make pitar cows living here. (22)
आ यू॒थेव॑क्षु॒मति॑ प॒श्वो अ॑ख्यद्दे॒वानां॒ जनि॒मान्त्यु॒ग्रः । मर्ता॑सश्चिदु॒र्वशीर॑कृप्रन्वृ॒धे चि॑द॒र्य उप॑रस्या॒योः ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम्हारे द्वारा भस्म किया जाता हुआ यह यजमान देवताओं के प्रादुर्भाव को देखे. मरणधर्मा मनुष्य तुम्हारी कृपा से उर्वशी आदि अप्सराओं को भोगने वाले होते हैं. तुम्हारी कृपा से देवत्व को प्राप्त मनुष्य भी गर्भाशय में स्थित जीवन की वृद्धि वाला होता है. (२३)
EN English Translation
O agni! This host, consumed by you, sees the emergence of the gods. By your grace, people are going to enjoy apsaras like Urvashi etc. By your grace, a person who attains divinity is also the one who grows life located in the uterus. (23)
अक॑र्म ते॒स्वप॑सो अभूम ऋ॒तम॑वस्रन्नु॒षसो॑ विभा॒तीः । विश्वं॒ तद्भ॒द्रं यदव॑न्ति दे॒वाबृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑ ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम तुम्हारे सेवक हैं और तुम हमारा पालन करने वाले हो. इस कारण हम शोभन कर्म करने वाले बनें. उषा काल हमारे कर्मो को सत्य बनाए. देवताओं द्वारा रक्षित कर्म हमारे लिए कल्याणकारी हो. हम भी सुंदर पुत्र आदि से युक्त रहते हुए यज्ञ में विस्तृत स्तोत्रों का उच्चारण करें. (२४)
EN English Translation
O agni! We are your servants and you are our followers. For this reason, we become do decent deeds. May the Usha period make our deeds true. May the deeds protected by the gods be beneficial to us. We should also chant elaborate stotras in the yajna while being equipped with beautiful sons etc. (24)
इन्द्रो॑ माम॒रुत्वा॒न्प्राच्या॑ दि॒शः पा॑तु बाहु॒च्युता॑ पृथि॒वी द्यामि॑वो॒परि॑ । लो॑क॒कृतः॑ पथि॒कृतो॑ यजामहे॒ ये दे॒वानां॑ हु॒तभा॑गा इ॒ह स्थ ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुतों के स्वामी इंद्र पूर्व दिशा से मेरी रक्षा करें. बाहुओं में प्राप्त पृथ्वी जिस प्रकार ऊपर स्थित स्वर्ग की रक्षा करती है, उसी प्रकार लोकों तथा मार्गो के निर्माताओं की पूजा हम यज्ञ द्वारा करते हैं. हे देवगण! तुम इस यज्ञ में भाग प्राप्त करने वाले बनो. (२५)
EN English Translation
May Indra, the swami of the marutas, protect me from the east direction. Just as the earth found in the arms protects the heaven above, in the same way we worship the creators of the worlds and paths through yajna. O God! You become the participant in this yajna. (25)
धा॒ता मा॒निरृ॑त्या॒ दक्षि॑णाया दि॒शः पा॑तु बाहु॒च्युता॑ पृथि॒वी द्यामि॑इवो॒परि॑ । लो॑क॒कृतः॑ पथि॒कृतो॑ यजामहे॒ ये दे॒वानां॑ हु॒तभा॑गा इ॒ह स्थ ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दक्षिण के धाता देव पाप की देवी निर्त्रति के भय से मेरी रक्षा करें. दाता के द्वारा दी गई पृथ्वी जिस प्रकार स्वर्ग के उपभोक्ता की रक्षा करती है, उसी प्रकार मेरी रक्षा करने वाली हो. पुण्य के फल के रूप में स्वर्ग के मार्ग का प्रवर्तन करने वालों को हम हवि के द्वारा पूजते हैं. हे देवगण! इस यज्ञ में तुम भाग प्राप्त करने वाले बनो. (२६)
EN English Translation
May the Dhata Dev of the South protect me from the fear of nirtrati, the goddess of sin. Just as the earth given by the Giver protects the consumer of heaven, so it is going to protect me. As the fruit of virtue, we worship those who initiate the way to heaven through Havi. O Gods! Become the one who gets a part in this yajna. (26)
अदि॑तिर्मादि॒त्यैः प्र॒तीच्या॑ दि॒शः पा॑तु बाहु॒च्युता॑ पृथि॒वीद्यामि॑वो॒परि॑ । लो॑क॒कृतः॑ पथि॒कृतो॑ यजामहे॒ ये दे॒वानां॑ हु॒तभा॑गा इ॒ह स्थ ॥ (२७)

देव माता अदिति पश्चिम दिशा के भय से मेरी रक्षा करें. दाता के द्वारा दी गई पृथ्वी जिस प्रकार दाता और दान ग्रहण करने वाले के स्वर्ग संबंधी उपभोग की रक्षा करती है, उसी प्रकार मेरी रक्षा करने वाली बने. पुण्य के फल के रूप में स्वर्ग के मार्ग का प्रवर्तन करने वालों को हम हवि के द्वारा पूजते हैं. हे देवगण! इस यज्ञ में तुम भाग प्राप्त करने वाले बनो. (२७)
EN English Translation
May Dev Mata Aditi protect me from the fear of west direction. Just as the earth given by the giver protects the heavenly consumption of the giver and the recipient of the donation, so be the protector of me. As the fruit of virtue, we worship those who initiate the way to heaven through Havi. O Gods! Become the one who gets a part in this yajna. (27)

Soma with all the gods, protect me from the demons etc. located in the north direction. As the fruit of virtue, we worship those who initiate the way in heaven through Havi. O Gods! Become the one who gets a part in this yajna. (28)

हे प्रेत! संपूर्ण जगत् को धारण करने वाले तथा ऊपर की दिशा का स्वामी धाता देव ऊपर के लोक को जाने के लिए इच्छुक तेरी उसी प्रकार रक्षा करें, जिस प्रकार सब के प्रेरक सूर्य दीप्त आकाश को धारण करते है. पुण्य के फल के रूप में स्वर्ग के मार्ग का प्रवर्तन करने वालों को हम हवि के द्वारा पूजते हैं. हे देवगण! तुम हमारे इस यज्ञ में भाग प्राप्त करने वाले बनो. O ghost! Dhata Dev, who holds the whole world and the swami of the upward direction, willing to go to the upper world, protect you in the same way as the inspiring sun of all wears the bright sky. As the fruit of virtue, we worship those who initiate the way to heaven through Havi. O Gods! You become the one who gets a part in this yajna of ours. (29)
प्राच्यां॑ त्वादि॒शि पु॒रा सं॒वृतः॑ स्व॒धाया॒मा द॑धामि बाहु॒च्युता॑ पृथि॒वी द्यामि॑वो॒परि॑ । लो॑क॒कृतः॑ पथि॒कृतो॑ यजामहे॒ ये दे॒वानां॑ हु॒तभा॑गा इ॒ह स्थ ॥ (३०)

हे प्रेत! दहन के स्थान से पूर्व दिशा में कंबल से लिपटा हुआ मैं शरीर वाला रहा हूं, उस दिशा में मैं तुझे पितरों की तृप्ति करने वाली स्वधा नाम की देवी पर स्थापित करता हूं. दाताओं द्वारा ब्राह्मणों को दान की गई पृथ्वी जिस प्रकार ऊपर की दिशा में स्थित स्वर्ग का पालन करती है, हम हवि के द्वारा तुम्हारा स्वागत करते हैं. हे देवगण! तुम इस यज्ञ में भाग लेने वाले बनो. (३०)

O ghost! I have been a body wrapped with a blanket in the east direction from the place of combustion, in that direction I install you on a goddess named Swadha, who satisfies the ancestors. The way the earth donated to the Brahmins by the donors follows heaven in the upward direction, we welcome you through Havi. O Gods! You become participants in this yajna. (30)
