नकि॑रिन्द्र॒ त्वदुत्त॑रो॒ न ज्याया॑ँ अस्ति वृत्रहन् । नकि॑रे॒वा यथा॒ त्वम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वृत्रहंता इंद्र! संसार में कोई भी तुम्हारी अपेक्षा उत्तम एवं प्रशंसनीय नहीं है. हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे समान कोई प्रसिद्ध नहीं है. (१)
EN English Translation
O Vrithrahanta Indra! No one in the world is better and more praiseworthy than you. O Indra! There is no one as famous as you. (1)
स॒त्रा ते॒ अनु॑ कृ॒ष्टयो॒ विश्वा॑ च॒क्रेव॑ वावृतुः । स॒त्रा म॒हाँ अ॑सि श्रु॒तः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! प्रजाएं तुम्हारे पीछे उसी प्रकार चलें, जिस प्रकार गाड़ी सभी जगह पहिए के पीछे जाती है. हे इंद्र! तुम वास्तव में महान् एवं प्रसिद्ध हो. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Let the people follow you in the same way as the car goes behind the wheel everywhere. O Indra! You are really great and famous. (2)
विश्वे॑ च॒नेद॒ना त्वा॑ दे॒वास॑ इन्द्र युयुधुः । यदहा॒ नक्त॒माति॑रः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! असुरों को जीतने की इच्छा से देवों ने तुम्हारी सहायता से बल प्राप्त करके असुरों के साथ युद्ध किया. इसी हेतु तुमने रात-दिन शत्रुओं का नाश किया. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! With the desire to conquer the asuras, the devas fought with the asuras by gaining strength with your help. That's why you have destroyed your enemies day and night. (3)
यत्रो॒त बा॑धि॒तेभ्य॑श्च॒क्रं कुत्सा॑य॒ युध्य॑ते । मु॒षा॒य इ॑न्द्र॒ सूर्य॑म् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! उस संग्राम में तुमने युद्ध करने वाले कुत्स एवं उसके सहायकों के लिए सूर्य के रथ का पहिया चुराया था. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! In that battle, you stole the wheel of the sun's chariot for the fighting dogs and his helpers. (4)
यत्र॑ दे॒वाँ ऋ॑घाय॒तो विश्वा॒ँ अयु॑ध्य॒ एक॒ इत् । त्वमि॑न्द्र व॒नूँरह॑न् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम अकेले ने देवों को बाधा पहुंचाने वाले सभी राक्षसों के साथ युद्ध किया एवं उन हिंसकों को मारा. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You alone fought with all the demons who hindered the gods and killed those violent ones. (5)
यत्रो॒त मर्त्या॑य॒ कमरि॑णा इन्द्र॒ सूर्य॑म् । प्रावः॒ शची॑भि॒रेत॑शम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! उस संग्राम में तुमने एतश ऋषि की रक्षा के लिए सूर्य की हिंसा की एवं एतश ऋषि को बचाया. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! In that struggle, you committed violence against the sun to protect the sage Etash and saved the sage Etash. (6)
किमादु॒तासि॑ वृत्रह॒न्मघ॑वन्मन्यु॒मत्त॑मः । अत्राह॒ दानु॒माति॑रः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वृत्रनाशक एवं धनस्वामी इंद्र! उसके पश्चात् तुम क्रोधित हुए एवं दिन के समय आकाश में दनुपुत्र वृत्र का नाश किया. (७)
EN English Translation
O the conqueror and the rich indra! After that you became angry and destroyed the danuputra Vrithra in the sky during the day. (7)
ए॒तद्घेदु॒त वी॒र्य१॒॑मिन्द्र॑ च॒कर्थ॒ पौंस्य॑म् । स्त्रियं॒ यद्दु॑र्हणा॒युवं॒ वधी॑र्दुहि॒तरं॑ दि॒वः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने अपनी शक्ति को सामर्थ्यपूर्ण बनाया और स्वर्ग की पुत्री उस उषा का वध किया जो तुम्हें मारना चाहती थी. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You made your power powerful and killed usha, the daughter of heaven, who wanted to kill you. (8)
दि॒वश्चि॑द्घा दुहि॒तरं॑ म॒हान्म॑ही॒यमा॑नाम् । उ॒षास॑मिन्द्र॒ सं पि॑णक् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने स्वर्ग की पुत्री तथा पूजा के योग्य उषादेवी को पीस डाला. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You have crushed Ushadevi, the daughter of heaven and worthy of worship. (9)
अपो॒षा अन॑सः सर॒त्सम्पि॑ष्टा॒दह॑ बि॒भ्युषी॑ । नि यत्सीं॑ शि॒श्नथ॒द्वृषा॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कामवर्षी इंद्र ने जब उषा की गाड़ी तोड़ डाली तो डरी हुई उषा टूटी हुई गाड़ी से नीचे उतरी. (१०)
EN English Translation
When the working Indra broke usha's vehicle, the frightened usha got down from the broken vehicle. (10)
ए॒तद॑स्या॒ अनः॑ शये॒ सुस॑म्पिष्टं॒ विपा॒श्या । स॒सार॑ सीं परा॒वतः॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र द्वारा तोड़ी गई उषा की गाड़ी विपाशा नदी के किनारे गिरी. उषा उससे दूर चली गई. (११)
EN English Translation
Usha's car, which was broken by Indra, fell on the banks of the Vipasha river. Usha walked away from him. (11)
उ॒त सिन्धुं॑ विबा॒ल्यं॑ वितस्था॒नामधि॒ क्षमि॑ । परि॑ ष्ठा इन्द्र मा॒यया॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने अपने बुद्धिबल से जलपूर्ण एवं स्थित नदियों को धरती के ऊपर सभी जगह स्थापित किया. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! With your wisdom, you have established the water-filled and situated rivers everywhere above the earth. (12)
उ॒त शुष्ण॑स्य धृष्णु॒या प्र मृ॑क्षो अ॒भि वेद॑नम् । पुरो॒ यद॑स्य सम्पि॒णक् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पराजयकारी इंद्र! जब तुमने शुष्ण असुर के नगरों को भली प्रकार नष्ट किया था, तभी उसका धन भी छीन लिया था. (१३)
EN English Translation
O defeating Indra! When you had thoroughly destroyed the cities of the Shushna Asura, you also took away his wealth. (13)
उ॒त दा॒सं कौ॑लित॒रं बृ॑ह॒तः पर्व॑ता॒दधि॑ । अवा॑हन्निन्द्र॒ शम्ब॑रम् ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने कुलतर के पुत्र शंबर नामक दास को बृहत् पर्वत पर अधोमुख कर मारा था. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You killed an enemy named Shambar, the son of the Kultar, by facing him down on the Great Mountain. (14)
उ॒त दा॒सस्य॑ व॒र्चिनः॑ स॒हस्रा॑णि श॒ताव॑धीः । अधि॒ पञ्च॑ प्र॒धीँरि॑व ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार पहिए के चारों ओर शंकु होते हैं, उसी प्रकार वचि नामक दास के चारों ओर हजार-पांच सौ सेवक थे. तुमने उनका वध किया. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as there are cones around the wheel, so there were a thousand or five hundred servants around the dasa named Vachi. You killed them. (15)
उ॒त त्यं पु॒त्रम॒ग्रुवः॒ परा॑वृक्तं श॒तक्र॑तुः । उ॒क्थेष्विन्द्र॒ आभ॑जत् ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शतक्रतु इंद्र ने अग्रु के पुत्र परावृक्त को स्तोत्रों का भागी बनाया. (१६)
EN English Translation
Shatrattu Indra made Paravarishta, the son of Agra, a partaker of the hymns. (16)
उ॒त त्या तु॒र्वशा॒यदू॑ अस्ना॒तारा॒ शची॒पतिः॑ । इन्द्रो॑ वि॒द्वाँ अ॑पारयत् ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शचीपति एवं विद्वान् इंद्र ने ययाति के शाप के कारण अभिषेकहीन तुर्वश एवं यदु नामक राजाओं को अभिषेक योग्य बनाया. (१७)
EN English Translation
Shachipati and the scholar Indra made the kings named Turvash and Yadu anointed without anointing due to the curse of Yayati. (17)
उ॒त त्या स॒द्य आर्या॑ स॒रयो॑रिन्द्र पा॒रतः॑ । अर्णा॑चि॒त्रर॑थावधीः ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! सरयू के पार रहने वाले राजा और्व और चित्ररथ स्वयं को आर्य कहते थे. तुमने उनका वध तुरंत किया. (१८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! King Aurva and Chitraratha, who lived across the Saryu, used to call themselves Arya. You killed them immediately. (18)
अनु॒ द्वा ज॑हि॒ता न॑यो॒ऽन्धं श्रो॒णं च॑ वृत्रहन् । न तत्ते॑ सु॒म्नमष्ट॑वे ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वृत्रनाशक इंद्र! तुमने सभी संबंधियों द्वारा त्यागे गए अंधे और लूले पर कृपा की थी. तुम्हारे द्वारा दिए हुए सुख को कोई नष्ट नहीं कर सकता. (१९)
EN English Translation
O the conqueror Indra! You were kind to the blind and lulle abandoned by all the relatives. No one can destroy the happiness you have given. (19)
श॒तम॑श्म॒न्मयी॑नां पु॒रामिन्द्रो॒ व्या॑स्यत् । दिवो॑दासाय दा॒शुषे॑ ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने पत्थरों के बने हुए सौ नगर हव्य देने वाले दिवोदास को दिए. (२०)
EN English Translation
Indra gave a hundred cities made of stones to Divodas who gave the havya. (20)
अस्वा॑पयद्द॒भीत॑ये स॒हस्रा॑ त्रिं॒शतं॒ हथैः॑ । दा॒साना॒मिन्द्रो॑ मा॒यया॑ ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने दभीति के कल्याण के लिए अपनी शक्ति द्वारा तीस हजार राक्षसों को अपने आयुध से मार डाला था. (२१)
EN English Translation
Indra had killed thirty thousand demons with his armaments by his power for the welfare of Dabhiti. (21)
स घेदु॒तासि॑ वृत्रहन्समा॒न इ॑न्द्र॒ गोप॑तिः । यस्ता विश्वा॑नि चिच्यु॒षे ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शन्रुनाशक, गायों के पालक एवं सभी यजमानों को समान समझने वाले इंद्र! तुमने इन सभी शत्रुओं को हराया था. (२२)
EN English Translation
O blasphemer, Indra, who is the guardian of cows and who treats all hosts as equal! You defeated all these enemies. (22)
उ॒त नू॒नं यदि॑न्द्रि॒यं क॑रि॒ष्या इ॑न्द्र॒ पौंस्य॑म् । अ॒द्या नकि॒ष्टदा मि॑नत् ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने अपनी शक्ति को सामर्थ्यपूर्ण बना लिया है, इसलिए आज तक कोई भी तुम्हें नहीं हरा पाया है. (२३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You have made your power powerful, so no one has ever been able to defeat you. (23)
वा॒मंवा॑मं त आदुरे दे॒वो द॑दात्वर्य॒मा । वा॒मं पू॒षा वा॒मं भगो॑ वा॒मं दे॒वः करू॑ळती ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुविदारक इंद्र! पूषा देव तुम्हें उत्तम धन दें. बिना दांतों वाले पूषा एवं भग तुम्हें उत्तम धन दे. (२४)
EN English Translation
O enemies, Indra! May God give you the best money. Give you the best money without teeth. (24)
