सखाय आ नि षीदत पुनानाय प्र गायत । शिशुं न यज्ञैः परि भूषत श्रिये ॥ (१)

हे यजमान मित्रो! आप आइए, बैठिए और सोम के लिए प्रार्थनाएं गाइए. आप शिशु को सजाने की भांति यज्ञ सजाइए. (१)
EN English Translation
O host friends! You come, sit down and sing prayers for Som. You decorate the yajna like decorating the baby. (1)
समी वत्सं न मातृभिः सृजता गयसाधनम् । देवाव्या३ं मदमभि द्विशवसम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! सोमरस यज्ञ का प्रमुख साधन व मददायी है. दोनों ही तरह अर्थात् दिव्यता और भौतिकता दोनों दृष्टिकोणों से वह शक्तिदायी है. आप सोमरस को वैसे ही जल में मिलाइए, जैसे माता के साथ बच्चे घुलमिल जाते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Someras is the main means and instrumental in yajna. In both ways, that is, divinity and materiality, he is powerful from both points of view. You mix somers in water just like children mix with the mother. (2)
पुनाता दक्षसाधनं यथा शर्धाय वीतये । यथा मित्राय वरुणाय शन्तमम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! आप मित्र व वरुण के निमित्त सोम को परिष्कृत करें. आप बल व कुशलता की प्राप्ति और देवताओं को भेंट करने के लिए सोमरस को परिष्कृत कीजिए. (३)
EN English Translation
O hosts! You refine Som for the sake of friend and Varun. Refine someras to gain strength and skill and to offer it to the gods. (3)
प्र वाज्यक्षाः सहस्रधारस्तिरः पवित्रं वि वारमव्यम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप अत्यंत बलशाली हैं, हजारों धारों वाले और पवित्र हैं. आप का रस भेड़ के बालों से बनी छलनी में छनता है. (४)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are extremely powerful, with thousands of edges and are holy. Your juice filters in a sieve made of sheep's hair. (4)
स वाज्यक्षाः सहस्ररेता अद्भिर्मृजानो गोभिः श्रीणानः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप अत्यंत बलशाली हैं. आप हजारों गुना बलशाली हैं. आप जल से ओतप्रोत हैं. भेड़ के बालों से बनी छलनी से छनते हुए आप द्रोणकलश में जाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are very strong. You are thousands of times stronger. You are full of water. You go to Dronakalsh, filtering with a sieve made of sheep's hair. (5)
प्र सोम याहीन्द्रस्य कुक्षा नृभिर्येमानो अद्रिभिः सुतः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पत्थरों से कूट कर निकाले हुए सोमरस को यजमानों ने स्तुतियों से परिष्कृत कर दिया है. वह सोमरस इंद्र के पेट में पहुंचने की कृपा करे. (६)

ये सोमासः परावति ये अर्वावति सुन्विरे । ये वादः शर्यणावति ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप शर्यणावत् (सायण के अनुसार 'शर्यणावत्” कुरुक्षेत्र के शर्यणा नामक मंडल (कमिश्नरी) की एक झील का नाम है.) तालाब के निकट उत्पन्न होते हैं. बाद में आप को परिष्कृत किया जाता है. (७)

य आर्जीकेषु कृत्वसु ये मध्ये पस्त्यानाम् । ये वा जनेषु पञ्चसु ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस आर्जीक, (हिलेब्रांट के अनुसार कश्मीर में एक स्थान) कमेरों (काम करने वालों) के देश नदी के किनारे व पंचजनों के बीच में पैदा होता है. पैदा होने के बाद उसे परिष्कृत किया जाता है. (८)
