आ घा॒ ये अ॒ग्निमि॑न्ध॒ते स्तृ॒णन्ति॑ ब॒र्हिरा॑नु॒षक् । येषा॒मिन्द्रो॒ युवा॒ सखा॑ ॥ (१)

युवा इंद्र जिनके मित्र हैं, वे ऋषि मिलकर अग्नि को भली प्रकार जाते हैं एवं कुश बिछाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The young Indra, who has a friend, the sages together go well to the agni and lay the kusha. (1)
बृ॒हन्निदि॒ध्म ए॑षां॒ भूरि॑ श॒स्तं पृ॒थुः स्वरुः॑ । येषा॒मिन्द्रो॒ युवा॒ सखा॑ ॥ (२)

युवा इंद्र जिनके मित्र हैं, उन ऋषियों की समिधाएं बड़ी हैं, स्तोत्र बहुत हैं और यज्ञ महान् हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The young Indras who have friends, the sages have great committees, many hymns and yajnas are great. (2)
अयु॑द्ध॒ इद्यु॒धा वृतं॒ शूर॒ आज॑ति॒ सत्व॑भिः । येषा॒मिन्द्रो॒ युवा॒ सखा॑ ॥ (३)

युवा इंद्र जिनके मित्र हैं, ऐसे व्यक्ति योद्धा न होने पर भी शत्रुओं द्वारा घिर कर अपनी शक्ति से वीरतापूर्वक उन्हें झुकाते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Young Indra, whose friends are, even if they are not warriors, are surrounded by enemies and bow down heroically with their power. (3)
आ बु॒न्दं वृ॑त्र॒हा द॑दे जा॒तः पृ॑च्छ॒द्वि मा॒तर॑म् । क उ॒ग्राः के ह॑ शृण्विरे ॥ (४)

इंद्र ने उत्पन्न होते ही बाण उठा लिया और अपनी माता से पूछा-“उग्र एवं शक्ति द्वारा प्रसिद्ध कौन है?” (४)
EN English Translation
Indra picked up the arrow as soon as he was born and asked his mother, "Who is fierce and famous by power?" (4)
प्रति॑ त्वा शव॒सी व॑दद्गि॒रावप्सो॒ न यो॑धिषत् । यस्ते॑ शत्रु॒त्वमा॑च॒के ॥ (५)

हे इंद्र! शक्तिशालिनी माता ने तुम्हें उत्तर दिया-“जो तुम्हारे साथ शत्रुता का आचरण करता है वह पर्वत पर दर्शनीय हाथी के समान युद्ध करता है.” (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Shaktishlini Mata replied to you, "He who treats you in enmity with you fights like a spectacular elephant on a mountain." (5)
उ॒त त्वं म॑घवञ्छृणु॒ यस्ते॒ वष्टि॑ व॒वक्षि॒ तत् । यद्वी॒ळया॑सि वी॒ळु तत् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धन वाले इंद्र! तुम हमारी स्तुति सुनो. तुम्हारा स्तोता जो चाहता है, उसे तुम वही देते हो. तुम जिसे दृढ़ करते हो, वह अवश्य दृढ़ हो जाता है. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra with wealth! You listen to our praise. You give what your stota wants. The one you fortify must become firm. (6)
यदा॒जिं यात्या॑जि॒कृदिन्द्रः॑ स्वश्व॒युरुप॑ । र॒थीत॑मो र॒थीना॑म् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
युद्धकर्तता एवं शोभन अश्च वाले अभिलाषी इंद्र जब युद्ध करने जाते हैं तब वे रथियों में सबसे प्रधान होते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Indra, who aspires to fight and adornment, is the most prominent of the charioteers when he goes to war. (7)
वि षु विश्वा॑ अभि॒युजो॒ वज्रि॒न्विष्व॒ग्यथा॑ वृह । भवा॑ नः सु॒श्रव॑स्तमः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! तुम इस प्रकार बढ़ो कि तुमसे सारी प्रजा वृद्धि को प्राप्त हो. तुम हमारे लिए सर्वाधिक अन्न देने वाले बनो. (८)
EN English Translation
O thunderbolt Indra! You grow in such a way that all the people will gain growth from you. Be the giver of the most food for us. (8)
अ॒स्माकं॒ सु रथं॑ पु॒र इन्द्रः॑ कृणोतु सा॒तये॑ । न यं धूर्व॑न्ति धू॒र्तयः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे इंद्र हमें अभीष्ट फल देने के लिए अपना सुंदर रथ हमारे सामने स्थापित करें, जिनकी हिंसा हिंसक भी न कर सकें. (९)
EN English Translation
May those Indras set up their beautiful chariots in front of us to give us the desired fruits, whose violence cannot be violent. (9)
वृ॒ज्याम॑ ते॒ परि॒ द्विषोऽरं॑ ते शक्र दा॒वने॑ । ग॒मेमेदि॑न्द्र॒ गोम॑तः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम याचना करने के लिए तुम्हारे शत्रुओं के पास न जावें. हे गायों वाले एवं पर्याप्त दाता इंद्र! हम तुम्हारे पास जावें. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Let us not go to your enemies to beg. O indra, the cows and the giver enough! Let's go to you. (10)
शनै॑श्चि॒द्यन्तो॑ अद्रि॒वोऽश्वा॑वन्तः शत॒ग्विनः॑ । वि॒वक्ष॑णा अने॒हसः॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! तुम धीरे-धीरे जाते हुए इन घोड़ों वाले, अधिक धनसंपन्न, चतुर एवं उपद्रवरहित हो. (११)
EN English Translation
O thunderbolt Indra! You are slowly going with these horses, more wealthy, smarter and hassle-free. (11)
ऊ॒र्ध्वा हि ते॑ दि॒वेदि॑वे स॒हस्रा॑ सू॒नृता॑ श॒ता । ज॒रि॒तृभ्यो॑ वि॒मंह॑ते ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! यजमान तुम्हारे स्तोता के लिए प्रतिदिन सैकड़ों एवं हजारों उत्तम सुखसाधन देता है. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The host gives hundreds and thousands of great comforts every day for your stotha. (12)
वि॒द्मा हि त्वा॑ धनंज॒यमिन्द्र॑ दृ॒ळ्हा चि॑दारु॒जम् । आ॒दा॒रिणं॒ यथा॒ गय॑म् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम तुम्हें धन जीतने वाला, दृढ़ शत्रुओं को भी भग्न करने वाला, शत्रुओं का धन छीनने वाला एवं घर के समान रक्षा करने वाला जानते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We know you to be the one who wins wealth, the one who breaks even the strong enemies, the one who snatches away the wealth of the enemies, and the protector of the house. (13)
क॒कु॒हं चि॑त्त्वा कवे॒ मन्द॑न्तु धृष्ण॒विन्द॑वः । आ त्वा॑ प॒णिं यदीम॑हे ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कवि, शत्रुपराभवकारी एवं वणिकवृत्ति वाले इंद्र! जब हम तुमसे अभीष्ट वस्तु की याचना करें, उस समय हमारा सोम बैल की ठाट के समान ऊंचा होकर तुम्हें प्रसन्न करे. (१४)
EN English Translation
O poet, the enemy,the loser and the eternal Indra! When we ask you for what is desired, let our mon please you by being as high as a bull's trunk. (14)
यस्ते॑ रे॒वाँ अदा॑शुरिः प्रम॒मर्ष॑ म॒घत्त॑ये । तस्य॑ नो॒ वेद॒ आ भ॑र ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जो व्यक्ति धनवान् होकर तुम धनस्वामी के लिए दान नहीं करता अथवा तुम्हारी निंदा करता है, उसका धन हमारे पास ले आओ. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Whoever is rich and does not donate to the riches or condemns you, bring his money to us. (15)
इ॒म उ॑ त्वा॒ वि च॑क्षते॒ सखा॑य इन्द्र सो॒मिनः॑ । पु॒ष्टाव॑न्तो॒ यथा॑ प॒शुम् ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले मेरे वे मित्र तुम्हें उसी प्रकार देखते हैं, जिस प्रकार घास लाने वाले लोग पशु को देखते हैं. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Those friends of mine who squeeze the somras see you in the same way that the people who bring the grass see the animal. (16)
उ॒त त्वाब॑धिरं व॒यं श्रुत्क॑र्णं॒ सन्त॑मू॒तये॑ । दू॒रादि॒ह ह॑वामहे ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बधिरतारहित एवं सुनने में सक्षम कान वाले इंद्र! यज्ञ में रक्षा के निमित्त तुम्हें हम दूर से बुलाते हैं. (१७)
EN English Translation
O Indra with deaf and hearing-free ears! We call you from afar for the sake of protection in the yajna. (17)
यच्छु॑श्रू॒या इ॒मं हवं॑ दु॒र्मर्षं॑ चक्रिया उ॒त । भवे॑रा॒पिर्नो॒ अन्त॑मः ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हमारी यह पुकार सुनो, अपना बल शत्रुओं के लिए असहनीय बनाओ एवं हमारे सर्वाधिक बंधु बनो. (१८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Listen to our call, make your strength unbearable to our enemies and be our most brothers. (18)
यच्चि॒द्धि ते॒ अपि॒ व्यथि॑र्जग॒न्वांसो॒ अम॑न्महि । गो॒दा इदि॑न्द्र बोधि नः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जब हम दरिद्रता से परेशान होकर तुम्हारे पास जावें और स्तुति करें, उस समय तुम हमें गाय देने के लिए जागना. (१९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When we are troubled by poverty and go to you and praise, that time you wake up to give us the cow. (19)
आ त्वा॑ र॒म्भं न जिव्र॑यो रर॒भ्मा श॑वसस्पते । उ॒श्मसि॑ त्वा स॒धस्थ॒ आ ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बलपति इंद्र! कमजोर बूढ़ा जिस प्रकार लकड़ी का सहारा लेता है, उसी प्रकार हम तुम्हें प्राप्त करें एवं यज्ञ में तुम्हारी कामना करें. (२०)
EN English Translation
O Balapati Indra! Just as the weak old man resorts to wood, so let us get you and desire you in the yajna. (20)
स्तो॒त्रमिन्द्रा॑य गायत पुरुनृ॒म्णाय॒ सत्व॑ने । नकि॒र्यं वृ॑ण्व॒ते यु॒धि ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस इंद्र को युद्ध में कोई नहीं हरा सकता, उस दानशील व बहुत धन वाले इंद्र के लिए स्तोत्र पढ़ो. (२१)
EN English Translation
Read the hymn for the indra who no one can defeat in the war, the godly and wealthy indra. (21)
अ॒भि त्वा॑ वृषभा सु॒ते सु॒तं सृ॑जामि पी॒तये॑ । तृ॒म्पा व्य॑श्नुही॒ मद॑म् ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्तिशाली इंद्र! सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर मैं सोमरस पीने के लिए तुम्हें देता हूं. तुम तृप्त बनो एवं नशीला सोमरस पिओ. (२२)
EN English Translation
O mighty Indra! When the Somras go to Nichud, I give you somers to drink. You be satisfied and drink intoxicating somras. (22)
मा त्वा॑ मू॒रा अ॑वि॒ष्यवो॒ मोप॒हस्वा॑न॒ आ द॑भन् । माकीं॑ ब्रह्म॒द्विषो॑ वनः ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! बुद्धिहीन लोग अपनी रक्षा की इच्छा से तुम्हारी हिंसा न करें और न तुम्हारी हंसी उड़ावें. उन ब्राह्मणद्वेषियों के पास मत जाना. (२३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The mindless should not violence you or make fun of you with the desire to protect them. Don't go to those Brahmins. (23)
इ॒ह त्वा॒ गोप॑रीणसा म॒हे म॑न्दन्तु॒ राध॑से । सरो॑ गौ॒रो यथा॑ पिब ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! लोग महान् धन पाने के लिए तुम्हें गाय के दूध से मिले सोमरस द्वारा प्रसन्न करें. तुम गौरमृग के समान सोमरस पिओ. (२४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! People to get great wealth please you with the somras found in cow's milk. You drink somers like gourds. (24)
या वृ॑त्र॒हा प॑रा॒वति॒ सना॒ नवा॑ च चुच्यु॒वे । ता सं॒सत्सु॒ प्र वो॑चत ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वृत्रहंता इंद्र ने दूर देश में जो सनातन एवं नवीन धन दिया है, उसे विद्वान् लोग सभाओं में बतावें. (२५)
EN English Translation
The eternal and new wealth given by Vrithrahanta Indra in a distant country should be told by the learned people in the meetings. (25)
अपि॑बत्क॒द्रुवः॑ सु॒तमिन्द्रः॑ स॒हस्र॑बाह्वे । अत्रा॑देदिष्ट॒ पौंस्य॑म् ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने कद्रु ऋषि द्वारा निचोड़ा गया सोमरस पिया एवं उनके शत्रुओं को मारा. इस अवसर पर इंद्र का पुरुषार्थ उद्दीप्त हुआ. (२६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You drank the somras squeezed by the sage Kadru and killed his enemies. Indra's purushartha was stirred on the occasion. (26)
स॒त्यं तत्तु॒र्वशे॒ यदौ॒ विदा॑नो अह्नवा॒य्यम् । व्या॑नट् तु॒र्वणे॒ शमि॑ ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने तुर्वश और यदु नामक राजाओं के प्रसिद्ध यज्ञकर्म को सच्चा जानकर उनकी प्रसन्नता के लिए उनके शत्रु अह्लवास्य को संग्राम में घेरा था. (२७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You had surrounded their enemy Ahlvasya in the battle for their pleasure by knowing the famous yajnakarma of the kings named Turvash and Yadu to be true. (27)
त॒रणिं॑ वो॒ जना॑नां त्र॒दं वाज॑स्य॒ गोम॑तः । स॒मा॒नमु॒ प्र शं॑सिषम् ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोताओ! तुम्हारे पुत्र-पौत्रादि के तारक, शत्रुनाशक, गायों से युक्त अन्न देने वाले एवं सबके प्रति समान इंद्र की मैं स्तुति करता हूं. (२८)
EN English Translation
This stotao! I praise Indra, as your son and grandson's tarak, the enemy destroyer, the giver of food containing cows, and to all. (28)
ऋ॒भु॒क्षणं॒ न वर्त॑व उ॒क्थेषु॑ तुग्र्या॒वृध॑म् । इन्द्रं॒ सोमे॒ सचा॑ सु॒ते ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तोत्र उच्चारण के साथ सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर एवं उवथ मंत्रों का उच्चारण आरंभ होने पर मैं धन पाने के लिए महान् तथा जलवर्षक इंद्र की प्रशंसा करता हूं. (२९)
EN English Translation
On going to Somras Nichud with the psalm pronunciation and the beginning of chanting of the uwath mantras, I praise indra, the great and water yearner, for getting wealth. (29)
यः कृ॒न्तदिद्वि यो॒न्यं त्रि॒शोका॑य गि॒रिं पृ॒थुम् । गोभ्यो॑ गा॒तुं निरे॑तवे ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन इंद्र ने त्रिलोक ऋषि की प्रार्थना पर जल निकलने के द्वार समान एवं विस्तृत मेघ को विच्छिन्न किया था, उन्हीं जलों के निकलने के लिए मार्ग बनाया था. (३०)
EN English Translation
Indra, who had dissected the uniform and wide cloud of water at the prayer of sage Trilok, had made a way for the same water to come out. (30)
