वि हि सोतो॒रसृ॑क्षत॒ नेन्द्रं॑ दे॒वम॑मंसत । यत्राम॑दद्वृ॒षाक॑पिर॒र्यः पु॒ष्टेषु॒ मत्स॑खा॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१)

इंद्र का स्वगतकथन-- मैंने स्तोताओं से सोमरस निचोड़ने को कहा, पर उन्होंने मेरी बात नहीं मानी. उन्होंने मेरे स्थान पर मेरे पुत्र वृषाकपि की स्तुति की, सोमरस वाले यज्ञ में स्वामी वृषाकपि मेरे मित्र बनकर प्रसन्न हुए. मैं सबसे श्रेष्ठ हूं. (१)
EN English Translation
Indra's autobiography - I asked the stoes to squeeze the somras, but they did not listen to me. He praised my son Vrishakpi in my place, swami Vrishakpi was pleased to be my friend in the yajna of Somras. I'm the best. (1)
परा॒ ही॑न्द्र॒ धाव॑सि वृ॒षाक॑पे॒रति॒ व्यथिः॑ । नो अह॒ प्र वि॑न्दस्य॒न्यत्र॒ सोम॑पीतये॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (२)

हे इंद्र! तुम स्वयं चलकर वृषाकपि के समीप जाते हो. तुम सोमरस के लिए दूसरी जगह नहीं जाते हो. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (२)

O Indra! You yourself walk near Taurus. You don't go to another place for Somers. Indra is the best. (2)
किम॒यं त्वां वृ॒षाक॑पिश्च॒कार॒ हरि॑तो मृ॒गः । यस्मा॑ इर॒स्यसीदु॒ न्व१॒॑र्यो वा॑ पुष्टि॒मद्वसु॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (३)

हरे रंग के हिरण के तुल्य वृषाकपि ने तुम्हारा क्या प्रिय किया है कि तुम उदार बनकर उसके लिए पुष्टिकारक अन्न देते हो. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
What has been dear to you is that you are generous and give it a confirmatory food for it, like a green deer. Indra is the best. (3)
यमि॒मं त्वं वृ॒षाक॑पिं प्रि॒यमि॑न्द्राभि॒रक्ष॑सि । श्वा न्व॑स्य जम्भिष॒दपि॒ कर्णे॑ वराह॒युर्विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (४)

हे इंद्र! जिस प्रिय वृषाकपि की तुम रक्षा करते हो उसके कान को कुत्ते की अभिलाषा करने वाला कुत्ता काटे. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Cut off the ear of the beloved test of the one you protect the dog that you desire. Indra is the best. (4)
प्रि॒या त॒ष्टानि॑ मे क॒पिर्व्य॑क्ता॒ व्य॑दूदुषत् । शिरो॒ न्व॑स्य राविषं॒ न सु॒गं दु॒ष्कृते॑ भुवं॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्राणी ने कहा-“यजमानों द्वारा मेरे लिए निर्मित प्रिय हवि वृषाकपि ने दूषित कर दिए. मैं शीघ्र ही इसका सिर काट डालूंगी. मैं इस दुष्कर्म करने वाले का सुख नहीं चाहती. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Indrani said, "The beloved Havi Vrishakapi, made for me by the hosts, was contaminated. I'll cut off his head soon. I don't want the happiness of this vicious. Indra is the best. (5)
न मत्स्त्री सु॑भ॒सत्त॑रा॒ न सु॒याशु॑तरा भुवत् । न मत्प्रति॑च्यवीयसी॒ न सक्थ्युद्य॑मीयसी॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कोई भी स्त्री मेरे समान सौभाग्यशालिनी एवं उत्तम पुत्र वाली नहीं है मेरे समान कोई भी स्त्री न तो पुरुष को अपना शरीर अर्पित करने वाली है और न संभोग के समय जांघों को फैलाने वाली है. इंद्र सबसे उत्तम हैं.” (६)
EN English Translation
No woman is as fortunate and a good son as me; no woman like me is going to offer her body to a man nor to spread her thighs at the time of sexual intercourse. Indra is the best." (6)
उ॒वे अ॑म्ब सुलाभिके॒ यथे॑वा॒ङ्ग भ॑वि॒ष्यति॑ । भ॒सन्मे॑ अम्ब॒ सक्थि॑ मे॒ शिरो॑ मे॒ वी॑व हृष्यति॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (७)

वृषाकपि ने कहा—“हे सुंदर लाभ प्रदान करने वाली माता! जैसे तुमने कहा है कि तुम्हारी जंघाएं शिर आदि अंग उसी प्रकार के हो जाएंगे. तुम कोयल के समान प्रिय वचन बोलकर पिता को प्रसन्न करो. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं.” (७)
EN English Translation
Vrisakapi said, "O mother who gives beautiful benefits! Just like you have said that your thighs, head, etc., will become the same type of limbs. Please the Father by speaking a word as dear as a cuckoo. Indra is the best." (7)
किं सु॑बाहो स्वङ्गुरे॒ पृथु॑ष्टो॒ पृथु॑जाघने । किं शू॑रपत्नि न॒स्त्वम॒भ्य॑मीषि वृ॒षाक॑पिं॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (८)

इंद्र ने कहा-_“हे सुंदर भुजाओं, शोभन उंगलियों, लंबे बालों व विस्तृत जंघाओं वाली एवं वीरपत्नी इंद्राणी! तुम वृषाकपि के प्रति व्यर्थ क्यों क्रोध कर रही हो? इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं.” (८)
EN English Translation
Indra said, "O beautiful arms, adorned fingers, long hair and wide thighs and a brave wife Indrani! Why are you being vainly angry with Vriskapi? Indra is the best." (8)
अ॒वीरा॑मिव॒ माम॒यं श॒रारु॑र॒भि म॑न्यते । उ॒ताहम॑स्मि वी॒रिणीन्द्र॑पत्नी म॒रुत्स॑खा॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (९)

इंद्राणी ने कहा-“यह घातक वृषाकपि मुझे पतिहीना के समान समझता है. मैं इंद्रपत्नी वीर पुत्रों वाली एवं मरुतों की सखा हूं. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं.” (९)
EN English Translation
Indrani said, This deadly Vrashakapi thinks of me as a husband less. I am indra's spouse, the mother of brave sons and the friend of the maruts. Indra is the best. (9)
सं॒हो॒त्रं स्म॑ पु॒रा नारी॒ सम॑नं॒ वाव॑ गच्छति । वे॒धा ऋ॒तस्य॑ वी॒रिणीन्द्र॑पत्नी महीयते॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१०)

“नारी सत्य की विधात्री व वीरमाता इंद्रपत्नी यज्ञ या युद्ध के समय वहां जाती है एवं सबका आदर पाती है. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं.” (१०)
EN English Translation
"The woman goes there in the time of yajna or war and the veermata indrapati of truth and gets respect for all. Indra is the best." (10)
इ॒न्द्रा॒णीमा॒सु नारि॑षु सु॒भगा॑म॒हम॑श्रवम् । न॒ह्य॑स्या अप॒रं च॒न ज॒रसा॒ मर॑ते॒ पति॒र्विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने कहा-“मैंने इन सब स्त्रियों में इंद्राणी को सौभाग्य वाली सुना है. इसका पति अन्य नारियों के समान बुढ़ापे से नहीं मरता. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं.” (११)
EN English Translation
Indra said, "I have heard indrani lucky in all these women. Her husband does not die of old age like other women. Indra is the best." (11)
नाहमि॑न्द्राणि रारण॒ सख्यु॑र्वृ॒षाक॑पेरृ॒ते । यस्ये॒दमप्यं॑ ह॒विः प्रि॒यं दे॒वेषु॒ गच्छ॑ति॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
“हे इंद्राणी! मैं अपने मित्र वृषाकपि के बिना प्रसन्न नहीं रह सकता. उसीको प्रसन्न करने वाला हवि देवों के समीप जाता है. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं.” (१२)
EN English Translation
"O Indrani! I can't be happy without my friend Vrisakapi. The one who pleases him goes to the gods. Indra is the best." (12)
वृषा॑कपायि॒ रेव॑ति॒ सुपु॑त्र॒ आदु॒ सुस्नु॑षे । घस॑त्त॒ इन्द्र॑ उ॒क्षणः॑ प्रि॒यं का॑चित्क॒रं ह॒विर्विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
“हे वृषाकपि की पत्नी! तुम धनवाली, शोभनपुत्रयुक्त एवं शोभन पुत्रवधू हो. तुम्हारे बैल को इंद्र खा जावें एवं तुम्हारे सुखकर प्रिय हवि का भक्षण करें. इंद्र सबसे उत्तम हैं.” (१३)
EN English Translation
"O wife of Vrisakapi! You are dhanwali, shobhanputrayukta and shobhan daughter-in-law. Let your bull be eaten by Indra and eat your pleasantly beloved Havi. Indra is the best." (13)
उ॒क्ष्णो हि मे॒ पञ्च॑दश सा॒कं पच॑न्ति विंश॒तिम् । उ॒ताहम॑द्मि॒ पीव॒ इदु॒भा कु॒क्षी पृ॑णन्ति मे॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्राणी द्वारा प्रेरित याज्ञिक मेरे लिए पंद्रह या बीस बैल पकाते हैं. उन्हें खाकर मैं मोटा बनता हूं. याज्ञिक लोग मेरी दोनों कोखें सोमरस से भर देते हैं. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
Yagniks inspired by Indrani cook fifteen or twenty bulls for me. By eating them I become fat. The Yagniks fill both my eyes with somras. Indra is the best. (14)
वृ॒ष॒भो न ति॒ग्मशृ॑ङ्गो॒ऽन्तर्यू॒थेषु॒ रोरु॑वत् । म॒न्थस्त॑ इन्द्र॒ शं हृ॒दे यं ते॑ सु॒नोति॑ भाव॒युर्विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१५)

इंद्राणी ने कहा-“हे इंद्र! तीखे सीगों वाला बैल जिस प्रकार गर्जन करता हुआ गायों में रमण करता है, उसी प्रकार तुम मेरे साथ रमण करो. दधिमंथन का शब्द तुम्हारे लिए कल्याणकारी हो. प्रेम की अभिलाषिणी इंद्राणी का सोमरस निचोड़ना तुम्हारा कल्याण करे. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (१५)

Indrani said, "O Indra! Just as a bull with sharp seags delights in the roaring cows, so do you delight with me. May the word of the term of the term be beneficial to you. May the desire of love, the desire of Indrani, squeeze the somras of you do good. Indra is the best. (15)
न सेशे॒ यस्य॒ रम्ब॑तेऽन्त॒रा स॒क्थ्या॒३॒॑ कपृ॑त् । सेदी॑शे॒ यस्य॑ रोम॒शं नि॑षे॒दुषो॑ वि॒जृम्भ॑ते॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वह व्यक्ति मैथुन करने में समर्थ नहीं हो सकता जिसकी पुरुषेंद्रिय जांघों के बीच लटकती है. वह व्यक्ति मैथुन करने में समर्थ हो सकता है, जिसकी बालों से युक्त पुरुषेंद्रिय सोते समय विस्तृत होती है. इंद्र सबसे उत्तम हैं.” (१६)
EN English Translation
A person whose purulent organs hang between the thighs may not be able to have sex. The person may be able to have sex, whose hair-bearing purulent peritoneum expands while sleeping. Indra is the best." (16)
न सेशे॒ यस्य॑ रोम॒शं नि॑षे॒दुषो॑ वि॒जृम्भ॑ते । सेदी॑शे॒ यस्य॒ रम्ब॑तेऽन्त॒रा स॒क्थ्या॒३॒॑ कपृ॒द्विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने कहा—“वह पुरुष मैथुन करने में समर्थ नहीं हो सकता जिसकी बालों वाली पुरुषेंद्रिय उसके सोते समय विस्तृत होती है, वही व्यक्ति मैथुन करने में समर्थ हो सकता है जिसकी पुरुषेंद्रिय जांघों के बीच में लटकती है. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं.” (१७)
EN English Translation
Indra said, "A man whose hairy male senses are wide at the time of his sleep, the same person whose purulent organ hangs between the thighs may not be able to have sex." Indra is the best." (17)
अ॒यमि॑न्द्र वृ॒षाक॑पिः॒ पर॑स्वन्तं ह॒तं वि॑दत् । अ॒सिं सू॒नां नवं॑ च॒रुमादेध॒स्यान॒ आचि॑तं॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! यह वृषाकपि पराए नष्ट धन को प्राप्त करे. वह तलवार वध का स्थल नया चरु एवं काठ की गाड़ी प्राप्त करे. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (१८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! It will get the money that is destroyed by the testicles. He should get the new charu and wooden cart, the site of sword slaughter. Indra is the best. (18)
अ॒यमे॑मि वि॒चाक॑शद्विचि॒न्वन्दास॒मार्य॑म् । पिबा॑मि पाक॒सुत्व॑नो॒ऽभि धीर॑मचाकशं॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं यजमानों को देखता हुआ एवं दासों तथा आर्यों को अलग-अलग करता हुआ यज्ञ की ओर जाता हूं. मैं हवि पकाने वाले एवं सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले का सोमरस पीता हूं तथा बुद्धिशाली यजमान को देखता हूं. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (१९)
EN English Translation
I go to the yagna, looking at the hosts and separating the dasas and the Aryans. I drink the somas of the cook and the somras squeezer and see the wise host. Indra is the best. (19)
धन्व॑ च॒ यत्कृ॒न्तत्रं॑ च॒ कति॑ स्वि॒त्ता वि योज॑ना । नेदी॑यसो वृषाक॒पेऽस्त॒मेहि॑ गृ॒हाँ उप॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुभूमि और वन में कितने योजन की दूरी है? हे वृषाकपि! तुम समीप के घर में ही आओ और यज्ञशाला में पहुंचो. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ है. (२०)
EN English Translation
What is the distance between desert and forest? O Vrisakapi! You come to the nearby house and come to the yajnashala. Indra is the best. (20)
पुन॒रेहि॑ वृषाकपे सुवि॒ता क॑ल्पयावहै । य ए॒ष स्व॑प्न॒नंश॒नोऽस्त॒मेषि॑ प॒था पुन॒र्विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वृषाकपि! तुम पुनः हमारे पास आओ. मैं और इंद्राणी तुम्हारे लिए प्रीति कर कार्य करते हैं. यह सूर्य जिस मार्ग से आते हैं, उसीसे तुम घर में आओ. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (२१)
EN English Translation
O Vrisakapi! You come to us again. Indrani and I act loving for you. The way this sun comes, you come into the house. Indra is the best. (21)
यदुद॑ञ्चो वृषाकपे गृ॒हमि॒न्द्राज॑गन्तन । क्व१॒॑ स्य पु॑ल्व॒घो मृ॒गः कम॑गञ्जन॒योप॑नो॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र एवं वृषाकपि! तुम ऊपर को मुंह करके मेरे घर आओ. अनेक रसमय पदार्थो को खाने वाला तथा मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने वाला मृग कहां है? इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (२२)

O Indra and Vrisakapi! You come to my house with your mouth upstairs. Where is the antelope that eats many juicy substances and pleases humans? Indra is the best. (22)
पर्शु॑र्ह॒ नाम॑ मान॒वी सा॒कं स॑सूव विंश॒तिम् । भ॒द्रं भ॑ल॒ त्यस्या॑ अभू॒द्यस्या॑ उ॒दर॒माम॑य॒द्विश्व॑स्मा॒दिन्द्र॒ उत्त॑रः ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र द्वारा छोड़े गए बाण! मनु की पुत्री पर्शु ने एक साथ बीस पुत्रों को जन्म दिया. जिसका पेट मोटा था, उसका कल्याण हुआ. इंद्र सबसे श्रेष्ठ हैं. (२३)

O arrows left by Indra! Manu's daughter Pershu gave birth to twenty sons at the same time. The one who had a thick stomach, his well-being was done. Indra is the best. (23)
