यमग्ने पृत्सु मर्त्यमवा वाजेषु यं जुनाः । स यन्ता शश्वतीरिषः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप युद्ध में जिन लोगों को लगाते हैं, उन्हें अन्न व बल प्रदान करते हैं और मृत्यु से उन की रक्षा करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! You give food and strength to those you engage in war and protect them from death. (1)
न किरस्य सहन्त्य पर्येता कयस्य चित् । वाजो अस्ति श्रवाय्यः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप ने जिस को बल दिया है, उस बलवान वीर को कोई भी नहीं हरा सकता है. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! No one can defeat the strong hero whom you have strengthened. (2)
स वाजं विश्वचर्षणिरर्वद्भिरस्तु तरुता । विप्रेभिरस्तु सनिता ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! ब्राह्मणों द्वारा आप की प्रशंसा की जाती है. आप संसार के द्रष्टा हैं. आप घोड़ों के द्वारा हमें युद्ध जिताएं. आप कल्याणकारी हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are praised by Brahmins. You are the seer of the world. You win us the war through horses. You are a benefactor. (3)
साकमुक्षो मर्जयन्त स्वसारो दश धीरस्य धीतयो धनुत्रीः । हरिः पर्यद्रवज्जाः सूर्यस्य द्रोणं ननक्षे अत्यो न वाजी ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस दिव्य, पवित्र और हरित आभा वाला है. सूर्य की किरणों से शुद्ध हो कर वह द्रोणकलश में जाता है. वह घोड़े की तरह वेगवान हो कर कलश में जाता है. दस अंगुलियां उस को मसलमसल कर शुद्ध बनाती हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Someras is divine, sacred and has a green aura. After being purified from the rays of the sun, he goes to Dronakalash. He goes to the urn like a horse. Ten fingers make it pure by massaging it. (4)
सं मातृभिर्न शिशुर्वावशानो वृषा दधन्वे पुरुवारो अद्भिः । मर्यो न योषामभि निष्कृतं यन्त्सं गच्छते कलश उस्रियाभिः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस सर्वश्रेष्ठ, देवताओं को प्रिय व बलवान है. वह दूध व जल में ऐसे एकमेक हो जाता है, जैसे पुरुष और स्त्री तथा मां और बच्चा एकदूसरे में एकमेक हो जाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Someras is the best, dear to the gods and strong. It becomes one in milk and water, just as men and women and mother and child become one in each other. (5)
उत प्र पिप्य ऊधरघ्न्याया इन्दुर्धाराभिः सचते सुमेधाः । मूर्धानं गावः पयसा चमूष्वभि श्रीणन्ति वसुभिर्न निक्तैः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम बुद्धिशाली हैं. वे गायों को दूध से भरपूर करते हैं. गायों के दूध को सोमरस में मिलाया जाता है. लोग जैसे वस्त्रों से अपने को ढकते हैं, वैसे ही गाएं सोमपात्र को (दूध देने के लिए) ढक लेती हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Som is intelligent. They feed cows with milk. The milk of cows is added to somerus. Just as people cover themselves with clothes, cows cover the sompatra (to give milk). (6)
पिबा सुतस्य रसिनो मत्स्वा न इन्द्र गोमतः । आपिर्नो बोधि सधमाद्ये वृधे३ऽस्माँ अवन्तु ते धियः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप के पुत्रों ने रसीला सोमरस तैयार किया है. आप उस को पी कर मस्त होइए. आप उस से अपनी और हमारी बढ़ोतरी कीजिए. आप हमें गोमति (सुबुद्धिवान) बनाइए. आप अपनी बुद्धियों से हमारी बुद्धि की रक्षा कीजिए. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Your sons have prepared a lush someras. You're cool to drink it. You increase yourself and us from that. You make us gomati (enlightened). You protect our intellects with your intellects. (7)
भूयाम ते सुमतौ वाजिनो वयं मा न स्तरभिमातये । अस्मां चित्राभिरवतादभिष्टिभिरा नः सुम्नेषु यामय ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम आप की सुमति से मतिवान व आप के बल से बलवान हों. आप अपने अभीष्ट साधनों से हमारी रक्षा करें. आप हमें सुखी व समृद्ध बनाएं. हमें आप की कृपा प्राप्त हो. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Let us be convinced by your consent and strong with your strength. Protect us with your desired means. May you make us happy and prosperous. May we have the grace of you. (8)
त्रिरस्मै सप्त धेनवो दुदुह्रिरे सत्यामाशिरं परमे व्योमनि । चत्वार्यन्या भुवनानि निर्णिजे चारूणि चक्रे यदृतैरवर्धत ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! परम व्योम में सात से तीन गुनी अर्थात् इक्कीस गाएं श्रेष्ठ दूध देती हैं. चार अन्य लोकों के सुंदर जल से सोम की बढ़ोतरी होती है. सोमरस कल्याणकारी चक्र से (क्रम से) प्रवाहित होता है. (९)
EN English Translation
O Mon! In Param Vyom, seven to three times i.e. twenty-one cows give the best milk. The beautiful water of the four other worlds increases soma. Someras flows (in order) from the welfare cycle. (9)
स भक्षमाणो अमृतस्य चारुण उभे द्यावा काव्येना वि शश्रथे । तेजिष्ठा अपो मँहना परि व्यत यदी देवस्य श्रवसा सदो विदुः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस अमृत भक्षण करता है. वह स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी दोनों लोकों को अमृत जैसे जल से भर देता है. जब यजमान देवस्थान को हविमय बनाते हैं तो सोम जल को अपने महत्त्व से तेजोमय बना देते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
Someras consumes nectar. He fills both heaven and earth with nectar-like water. When the hosts make the devasthan havimaya, Soma makes the water bright with its importance. (10)
ते अस्य सन्तु केतवोऽमृत्यवोऽदाभ्यासो जनुषी उभे अनु । येभिर्नृम्णा च देव्या च पुनत आदिद्राजानं मनना अगृभ्णत ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम मनुष्यों में अमर, अदम्य व दोपायों और चौपायों के संरक्षक हैं. वे मनुष्यों और देवों में राजा हैं. हम उन सोम की उपासना करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
Soma is immortal, indomitable among human beings and the protector of couplets and chaupayas. He is the king among men and gods. We worship those Soms. (11)
